Well, Christmas magic is early for me this year.. Read this first book on Christmas theme this year and I loved it..
Three stories, very cutely packed, magical, hilarious and ofcourse with the magic Mistletoe can play .. ♥️
All the characters are wonderful and the stories do give you the warmth and love that you look forward in a Christmas book.. Do read this one and enjoy the magic of love.. 🥰
I wanted to read this book for a continuation of Pepper Basham’s Skymar series because I have loved each of those books. That did end up being my favorite in this short story collection, but all three were delightful and perfect for getting in the holiday spirit. Each one is short enough to read in one sitting so it’s an easy book to dip in and out of when you want a little Christmas cheer.

What a fun grouping of Christmas stories. I love that they are all faith filled, clean, and closed door.
I must admit that Pepper Basham's prince story was my favorite. I loved watching the changes that happened with the characters as the story progressed.
What a fun, compilation of short Christmas romance stories to start the season.
This was a cute, festive trio of novellas. They were like Hallmark movies in book form - sweet and simple and not particularly memorable. They're a decent read if you're in mood for that.
I read an ARC of this book from NetGalley. All comments are my own.
Let's start with the good...
Pepper Basham's Skymar spinoff featuring Prince Arran and the Edgewoods' cousin Charlotte (Charlie) is phenomenal (although it seems a little rushed since it's not a full novel).
Kathleen Fuller's story is fine. I wouldn't say I loved it but I didn't mind it.
Sheila Roberts' story is... I'm so sorry... mediocre at best. Very childish and the choppy present tense is just so distracting. It's also just a dumb story. There, I said it.
I would still 100% recommend this book because of the Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham. It's worth it.
Three stars because two stories really dragged the one down.
This is a great set of holiday novellas. They are all light hearted and will likely get you into the Christmas spirit. My favorite was Return to Mistletoe. I would recommend to readers who are wanting to start their holiday reading with shorter stories and are looking for that cozy and comforting feeling you get from a good book.
Three great, short festive reads. A great way to discover some new too. I liked all the settings too.
This was a really good book. I enjoyed all 3 stories by the different authors. They held my attention and kept the story moving. I would recommend this book to my friends to read. I am so very glad to have been selected to read this book.
This was a darling book perfect for the winter. I loved the way that the author painted scenes for us as the reader. It felt cozy, magical and warm.
Unfortunately, I struggled a little with the MC. I couldn't fully connect with her and found it hard to feel everything that she was feeling. However, the setting was enough to keep me interested.
Mistletoe Season
Novella Collection by Kathleen Fuller, Pepper Basham, and Sheila Roberts
⭐️⭐️
We were excited for this novella collection because of our deep devotion toward Pepper Basham’s writing. She has a true gift of developing male and female characters the reader equally adores. This was certainly true between Charlotte and Arran in The Mistletoe Prince. “Charlie” has no appreciation for her inner and outer beauty due to a mother who undermined her self-esteem with derogatory comments. Arran quickly notices her true worth and how different she is from the shallow women he has known in royal circles. Readers of Authentically, Izzy, Positively, Penelope and Loyally, Luke will enjoy catching up with a few beloved characters in this novella. If we could rate The Mistletoe Prince as a stand alone, it would definitely earn four stars.
We were excited to see who Pepper partnered with for this novella collection and potentially find new authors to add to our “to be read” list. Kathleen Fuller’s story (Return to Mistletoe) was festive but a bit too predictable for us. However, we were surprised by the negativity and worldly viewpoint found in Sheila Roberts’ novella, Say No to Mistletoe. We raised a few eyebrows to the inclusion of euphemisms, consumption of alcohol, and overall lack of Christian perspective. We would not recommend this story to our followers.
We received an advance copy from the publisher and NetGalley. This is our honest review.
A collection of three stories by different authors. Pepper Basham was the standout author for me. I loved the newest addition to her Skymar series which could be read without reading the others (although I do highly recommend reading them). I loved the characters and the growth they showed over the course of the book. I would buy this book happily for that story and my rating reflects that rather than all 3 stories.
I did not gel as well with the other authors I'm afraid. I think this is because I didn't relate to the characters/stories. I know these authors are popular and that the other stories will appeal to their readers, just not me.
I receive complimentary books for various sources including, Netgalley, Authors, and other such sources. I am not required to write a positive review and have not received compensation
Every year I like to read a Christmas story or two. This set of three fit the bill nicely. I enjoyed them. If you need a lighthearted seasonal read, pick this one up.
Return to Mistletoe - In this one, Emmy's teenage crush, who happens to be her best friend's brother, returns home after many years away. It's nice reading a story with older characters. They place fewer games with each other and have a different perspective. It was refreshing.
A Mistletoe Prince - This was my favorite, I think. It was fun to see familiar characters again. I loved the prince's humility and humor when he was at the festival. It was a little ridiculous at times but had me laughing.
Say No to Mistletoe - Hailey returns to her hometown as a published romance novelist. Many things have changed for her but a lot of the hometown dynamics remain the same. She runs into her handsome neighbor and the girl who used to bully her right off. She'll have to figure out if she can fit in here again. I enjoyed watching Hailey reunite with Carwyn. It was a good read.
Thank you to Thomas Nelson for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This collection of three holiday novellas features sweet, small-town romances with a "kissing only" theme. My favorite was the second story by Pepper Basham, set in the Skymar universe, where a tomboy carpenter falls for a royal prince, offering a heartwarming message about self-love and being worthy of love just as you are. The final story also explores these themes, as an introverted romance writer from NYC returns to her hometown for Christmas and rekindles feelings for her high school crush. Fans of authors like Susan Mallory or Debbie Macomber will enjoy these charming holiday romances.
This collection felt a little bit uneven because the firhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show/6724410075st two books were 100% "clean" and then there was some innuendo in the third book (written by Sheila Roberts) that was jarring. That said, this was an enjoyable, festive read. Kathleen Fuller remains true to her small-town storytelling, while Pepper Basham adds another royalty-themed story to the Skymar series. Sheila Roberts's story about a heroine trying to avoid mistletoe was also very fun. If you're looking for light, spice-free romance this holiday season, this collection will be the perfect choice.
As much as I love Christmas stories, I won't read just any. Just yesterday, I started one, made it two chapters, and realized the Christmas setting wasn't going to be enough to make me like the book. Happily, these three stories were all ones I enjoyed, not only for the settings but also the endearing characters and interesting plot lines.
Return to Mistletoe by Kathleen Fuller is a sweet story featuring characters a bit older than many protagonists in romance stories; I really liked that about them. Their story was sweet and I was rooting for both of them instantly.
Say No to Mistletoe by Sheila Roberts had some parts seemed a bit cliche, but it also kept me chuckling quite a bit.
My favorite of the three was The Mistletoe Prince by Pepper Basham. I loved getting to see some minor characters from her Skymar series take center stage and as per usual, the dialogue was great and the romance absolutely perfect.
A great Christmas collection!
4 stars.
I read a DRC provided by the publisher. All opinions are my own
Christmas books are my favorite. When you have 3 Christmas novellas in one, makes it even better. I have never kissed under the mistletoe but each of these couples have their own experiences. I couldn't really choose a favorite because each story stands on its own merits and fun. It was a joy to read them. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.
This is a set of three festive stories of romance to get brighten your Christmas reading, all with mistletoe somewhere in the story. I really wanted to read Prince Arran's story by Pepper Basham as I had read the rest of the Skymar series. It was definitely a lovely addition to the series with Charlie (Charlotte) Edgewood, cousin of Luke, Izzy, and Penelope, and Arran, Prince from Skymar. Arran is working on a life do-over while in the Blue Ridge Mountains working with Luke, his sister and princess Ellie's husband. A lovely quick Christmas romance develops between Charlie and Arran.
Kathleen Fuller's sweet Christmas story is a Christmas romance between Emmy Banks and Kieran O'Neill, her best friend's brother. Emmy had a high school crush on Kieran and even filled in as a last-minute date for his senior prom. Kieran left right after graduation for Ireland and hasn't been back until now for his mom's 70th birthday. With his delicious Irish accent. Fun story.
In Sheila Roberts' story, Hailey goes to her Northwest hometown for Christmas. She grew up as an awkward, nerdy chubby girl. Now she has slimmed down and is a bestselling romance author. Her mom has her set up for all kinds of appearances and is somewhat of a celebrity, but she doesn't feel like one with her insecurities popping up. But she enjoys her visit and even gets to spend special time with her old crush and her brother's best friend Carwyn. I recommend this anthology for a series of quick, fun romance holiday reads.
I received a copy for the purpose of an honest review. These are my thoughts.
I found the dialogue to be pretty cheesy and the only story that felt Christmassy was the first one. I recommend this for fans of Hallmark movies, but for me it was just OK.
This was three novellas all relating to mistletoe! I loved all of them, but my favorite was Return to Mistletoe. It was so great to get into the Christmas spirit and cute little bite-size pieces.
I loved this sweet anthology! All 3 stories were just so precious! I would definitely recommend this sweet and clean book for your Christmas TBR!!
