I've loved Charlotte Stein for a long time, but this one didn't quite work for me. Her humor really comes through in the paranormal world-building, which made for a fun rom-com, but the slow burn was so slow that it lost traction for me, which meant that the tension didn't build the way I expect from her. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't un-put-downable the way her books so often are for me.

I tried to get into this a few times, but it just wasn’t my vibe. I have recommended it to several people who really loved it!

I tried so many times to get into this book as I've enjoyed other books by Charlotte Stein, but this one just wasn't what I was looking for.
Overall the writing and plot were fine, I just felt the execution didn't meet my expectations after having enjoyed When Grumpy Met Sunshine so much that I bought it for my sister.
I will still read other books by the author and will recommend this to a select group of friends.

I wanted to enjoy this one so bad. The writing just seemed a little juvenile for me. Which made it a little difficult to get into and to enjoy.

Finally I started with the first book in a new series. I love paranormal romances. I love werewolves. This one was a great combination of that and romance. Really didn't enjoy the fat shaming straight out of the gate though. That wasn't a great way to begin a book. The writing was a bit repetitive. It read a bit like a young adult novel. But all in all it was a quick and enjoyable read.

This had a fun concept, but just fell flat. I didn't feel like I really got to know the characters well outside of the steam and everything was over-the-top campy. Unfortunately this just wasn't for me.

While this book seemed to be right up my alley having so many troped I love including friends-enemies-lovers and werewolves, this book was painful to read. The characters lacked substance and the plot felt like a mess. I kept holding out hoping that it would find some direction, but it was overall a miss for me. I think the ideas were there but the execution was lacking.

I wanted to like this book but it did everything in its power to make the experience not enjoyable…
The humor is subjective and I found it either cringey or annoying. The justification of some of the comments, made in the FMC’s head, felt forced and immature, leading to my annoyance with the characters.
The history between the MCs was pretty messed up. He said something terrible but it was also a decade ago… the MCs friendship/relationship was just a bit weird.
I think the audio narration did not do the book any favors. It made the characters seem even more immature.
I’m sad because I wanted to like this book and it has a great premise. Unfortunately the author’s writing style isn’t my cup of tea.

I’m a little backlogged with my ARCs but working diligently to get caught up. I’m not typically a fantasy girl but really enjoyed how this book was still set in reality, only barely scraping the surface of the fantasy world. It definitely had a very high spice level so be warned, it’s not for the faint of heart! I’m actually looking forward to the next book in the series! I would recommend if you like fantasy, science fiction, romance, and lots of spicy scenes!

[Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to review this ARC with honesty.]
To start, I had a bit of a time getting into the groove of this one. I kept hitting roadblocks with how the sentences were structured. It could be the author's style and I weren't exactly working and that's fair. But it did seem like there were times that I genuinely had to skim over certain sentences after it became overwhelming. For instances, there were times it was dialogue (it was a lot of times) and other times where inner monoloues seemed to longer than necessary, especially when it seemed to repeat something that was already mentioned not that long ago. Again, it could be me. And I didn't despise the book. I cracked up at the raccoon bit. Also, the MMC’s thought and dialogue structure was a rollercoaster all on it's own. I could not see any real development with him at times. It would have been nice to see a POV from his side of the situation.
Overall, it was an okay read with enjoyable at times characters (mostly the raccoon and sentient microwave) and a likeable storyline of a young witch learning her abilities. Fun and crazy, all bottled into an 80’s stargazing car ride. (Read it the book and you’ll understand the reference.)
My Rating: 3 Stars

I value the opportunity I was given to read this in advance, but I still haven't read this. With so many books ahead of me, I cannot return to this title.

The blurb made this book sound like it was going to be great. And I love the inclusivity. I tried to get into this book, it’s been out for months and I tried to go back to it. But I found myself not being able to get into it.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book early

This was ADORABLE! And I need more books with a raccoon sidekick. Charlotte writes awkward banter so well, I feel like she’s living in my brain. Looking forward to the next book in her supernatural series.

Thanks to Netgalley and SMP for the arc.
Unfortunately this was a swing and a miss for me. I didn't particularly care about the characters and wasn't as invested in the relationship as I hope to be in a romance book.

I love werewolfs and I love romance, so this should've been a slam dunk. But in the end it was just fine. the couple were nice enough but there wasn't anything that made me go wow.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishing company for this Advanced Readers Copy of How to Help a Hungry Werewolf by Charlotte Stein!

This book had an interesting premise, but it didn’t quite deliver. The characters felt like they didn’t have a brain between them, making their actions and decisions frustrating at times. The story also had a lot of repetition, which made it feel unnecessarily drawn out. It could have used more editing to tighten up the plot and make the pacing flow better. Overall, it wasn’t the best read and didn’t leave me wanting more.

This book had a lot of potential but fell a little flat for me. Unfortunately, I struggled with the characters' banter. It seemed awkward, and I didn't always feel their chemistry. Overall, this is a cozy read, and it'd be a fun fall read!

Charlotte Stein can do no wrong and that means she can write the heck out of a paranormal romp too. This had all the wonderful sizzling tension of a typical Charlotte Stein book but with such great layers of paranormal tropes and comedy. I'm looking forward to reading more like this from the author!
