Okay, I honestly don't know where to start with this one. I'll start with the good points to the book, the plot was cute and fun. I wasn't really invested in the story until they ventured out of the magical house but once they did and they involved other characters I finally got invested. Also I enjoyed the raccoon familiar, I thought that was a cute addition to the witchy story, even though it was added as a character to the storyline kind of near the end.

Okay, now on to the issues with the book. There were many. I just did not understand Cassie as a character. Like at all. There were so many things she did that made absolutely no sense. I understand that she was suppose to be snarky and sarcastic, but sometimes some of the stuff that she would say to Seth was rude. The whole thing with the stick in the garden, that felt demeaning and kind of awful. He constantly checked in with consent with her, and then the minute she can make fun of him about something she does it even though he tells her not to. It felt very out of pocket for the nice girl she was trying to portray.

Also the writing, it was not great. There were times where I did not know what was going on and I had to reread multiple times and I still didn't get it. The dialogue also was not realistic. I'm willing to suspend A LOT of belief for a paranormal romance, but what irked me the most was the conversations. The author used all the dirty and raunchy talk possible but used juvenile language all throughout and call the guys you hate, jerks? It felt so disjointed.

Overall I felt the story was all over the place and I wish there was more involvement with the raccoon familiar.

How to Help a Hungry Werewolf by Charlotte Stein is a steamy, emotionally rich romance that took me by surprise in the best way. With its blend of heat, heart, and unexpected turns, it’s a must-read for anyone who loves a love story with bite and depth

I'm not gonna lie there were a few times in the first half where I almost stopped reading. But then it started to get interesting and then we got some really good spicy scenes. I just felt at times it was very repetitive and I got annoyed with them both. I don't regret reading this because I did end up enjoying the story. If there's another book in the series I'm willing to give it another try!

I did not start reading How to Help a Hungry Werewolf after reading this contains getting with your former bully. I don't like storylines like that. Those are still abusive relationships and I won't read books with those types of relationships.

Synopsis:
What We Do in the Shadows with the small town feels of Gilmore Girls in this swoon-worthy romance that will leave readers delightfully cozy and hungry for more. When Cassandra Camberwell returns to her hometown of Hollow Brook to clear out her late grandmother’s ramshackle old house, the last thing she expects is Seth Brubaker on her doorstep. Her former best friend was responsible for the worst moment of her high school life, and she can’t imagine he wants to do anything but torment her all over again.

Thoughts:
This was an okay book for me. I didn’t love the writing in some spots, but it wasn’t bad. If you’re looking for like fluffy paranormal romances, you’ll like this one!

I really sympathized with our FMC. The backstory of her bestie succumbing to popularity and becoming her "enemy" really sucked.
When they connect years later after the passing of her grandmother, you get more of our MMC's backstory and what he was going through.

I really liked this story. I enjoyed the banter and the side characters.
This was a good one. I'd recommend.

This is a must-read book I don't want to give any spoilers, but you won't regret getting this book, you won't put it down till you're done reading the whole this.

I love a good paranormal romance so I thought this was right up my alley. But unfortunately, it was not for me. I was immediately put off with fat shaming and info dump.I also didn't feel any connection towards the MC's. But just because I didn't like with this book, doesn't mean it's not for you.

I've loved Charlotte Stein for a long time, but this one didn't quite work for me. Her humor really comes through in the paranormal world-building, which made for a fun rom-com, but the slow burn was so slow that it lost traction for me, which meant that the tension didn't build the way I expect from her. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't un-put-downable the way her books so often are for me.

I tried to get into this a few times, but it just wasn’t my vibe. I have recommended it to several people who really loved it!

I tried so many times to get into this book as I've enjoyed other books by Charlotte Stein, but this one just wasn't what I was looking for.

Overall the writing and plot were fine, I just felt the execution didn't meet my expectations after having enjoyed When Grumpy Met Sunshine so much that I bought it for my sister.

I will still read other books by the author and will recommend this to a select group of friends.

I wanted to enjoy this one so bad. The writing just seemed a little juvenile for me. Which made it a little difficult to get into and to enjoy.

Finally I started with the first book in a new series. I love paranormal romances. I love werewolves. This one was a great combination of that and romance. Really didn't enjoy the fat shaming straight out of the gate though. That wasn't a great way to begin a book. The writing was a bit repetitive. It read a bit like a young adult novel. But all in all it was a quick and enjoyable read.

This had a fun concept, but just fell flat. I didn't feel like I really got to know the characters well outside of the steam and everything was over-the-top campy. Unfortunately this just wasn't for me.

While this book seemed to be right up my alley having so many troped I love including friends-enemies-lovers and werewolves, this book was painful to read. The characters lacked substance and the plot felt like a mess. I kept holding out hoping that it would find some direction, but it was overall a miss for me. I think the ideas were there but the execution was lacking.

I wanted to like this book but it did everything in its power to make the experience not enjoyable…

The humor is subjective and I found it either cringey or annoying. The justification of some of the comments, made in the FMC’s head, felt forced and immature, leading to my annoyance with the characters.

The history between the MCs was pretty messed up. He said something terrible but it was also a decade ago… the MCs friendship/relationship was just a bit weird.

I think the audio narration did not do the book any favors. It made the characters seem even more immature.

I’m sad because I wanted to like this book and it has a great premise. Unfortunately the author’s writing style isn’t my cup of tea.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

I’m a little backlogged with my ARCs but working diligently to get caught up. I’m not typically a fantasy girl but really enjoyed how this book was still set in reality, only barely scraping the surface of the fantasy world. It definitely had a very high spice level so be warned, it’s not for the faint of heart! I’m actually looking forward to the next book in the series! I would recommend if you like fantasy, science fiction, romance, and lots of spicy scenes!

[Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to review this ARC with honesty.]

To start, I had a bit of a time getting into the groove of this one. I kept hitting roadblocks with how the sentences were structured. It could be the author's style and I weren't exactly working and that's fair. But it did seem like there were times that I genuinely had to skim over certain sentences after it became overwhelming. For instances, there were times it was dialogue (it was a lot of times) and other times where inner monoloues seemed to longer than necessary, especially when it seemed to repeat something that was already mentioned not that long ago. Again, it could be me. And I didn't despise the book. I cracked up at the raccoon bit. Also, the MMC’s thought and dialogue structure was a rollercoaster all on it's own. I could not see any real development with him at times. It would have been nice to see a POV from his side of the situation.

Overall, it was an okay read with enjoyable at times characters (mostly the raccoon and sentient microwave) and a likeable storyline of a young witch learning her abilities. Fun and crazy, all bottled into an 80’s stargazing car ride. (Read it the book and you’ll understand the reference.)

My Rating: 3 Stars

I value the opportunity I was given to read this in advance, but I still haven't read this. With so many books ahead of me, I cannot return to this title.

The blurb made this book sound like it was going to be great. And I love the inclusivity. I tried to get into this book, it’s been out for months and I tried to go back to it. But I found myself not being able to get into it.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book early
