Sara Cate has become one of my favorite authors, so at this point I know that I'm going to like EVERYTHING I read by her, however, I didn't expect to love Sylvie & Killian like I did, and even less for them to become one of my favorite couples by the¿is author. Keep Me was different from what I've read by Sara so far, not only because, at least at this point, it doesn't relate to the world of Salacious Players, but also because its structure was different (and I loved that), and I think that this series has a lot of potential to become one of my favorites because I loved all the characters so much.
Sylvie is the female character by this author that I have connected with the most! It broke my heart to read everything Sylvie has to go through every time she interacts with her parents and how she is lost in her own life, but at the same time I fell in love with her daring, impulsive personality and the great courage with which she faces every complication in her life. I also really liked that this heroine always faced Killian no matter what, that she learned to open her heart, and especially that she found her place in the most unexpected situations.
Killian is a man with a broken heart since his parents' death, he's a grumpy man who decided to isolate himself from the world since then and is tired of his siblings' attempts to help him, but deep down Killian can also be a protective, understanding man who knows how to show Sylvie how important she is to him. Just like our heroine, Killian has a heartbreaking story that we learn little by little throughout the book, and which Sara developed perfectly, especially when that moment comes when Killian is finally ready to leave the past behind, and that made me love his character even more!
Sylvie & Killian have a bizarre, disastrous and funny first meeting that reflects VERY well what will be their chemistry and constant banter throughout the book, but it all really starts when Sylvie agrees to marry Killian in exchange for a large sum of money, and from that moment on Sara gives us one of the best plots she has written so far: with two broken characters, for different reasons, who learn to trust each other and find the love and respect they always deserved, but Sylvie hides a secret that little by little makes her doubt her decisions and I loved that the author shows us the dilemma of this character, but what I loved the most was the way Sylvie decided to take action and change things, even when the result was not what she expected. Another thing I LOVED was that moment when the truth comes out: even though it broke my heart for both characters, I also thought that everything that happens to them from there on is beautiful and gives them the best ending they could have had!

I love a good arranged marriage trope and this one was fantastic!! Sylvie and Killian were *chefs kiss* banter, forced proximity, and so much spice, check check and check!

I love anything Sara writes and this is no exception! The plot was fantastic, character growth was amazing over all a fantastic story!
I do however have some complaints with the formatting of the book… it’s spilt into 5 parts with each part being from a different characters POV, I would have preferred to have it as the ‘standard’ chapters alternating POV that Sara has done before. But this is personal preference and takes nothing away from the story

Keep me is Sara Cate's new book and introduction into a new series. This is a Billionaire romance set in Scotland and the tropes include enemies to lovers, fake marriage trope and I really enjoyed it. Killian is Scottish and a recluse and Sylvie is a carefree wild child. It took a little bit to get me into the book and to invest into these characters but Sylvie had me laughing which set the tone for a good read. These two characters are complete opposite to each other, but they work in the best way.
This book has some angst, family tension and spice and will keep you captivated with each page turn.

I never expect anything but perfection when it comes to Sara Cate’s books and this book was exactly that: PERFECTION. Killian and Sylvie hit all the boxes and all the feels. They were reflections of each other that needed the other to help themselves out of their own misery. I loved that Sylvie and Killian were always going toe to toe, it made their dynamic hilarious and tension-filled. Underneath Killian’s broody Scot facade was just a man begging to be loved and helped and underneath Sylvie’s prickly behavior was just a woman begging for someone to make her a priority. The romance, the plot, the smut, it was all so so so so good.

📓 WHAT TO EXPECT:

🩷 Kinky Vibes
💚 Grumpy X Grumpy
A broody Scottish reclusive billionaire as the male MC? Shut up and take my money! Keep Me was different from other Sara Cate books I have read, and I admit that I think this is my new favourite. It was not quite as spicy as some of her other books, but it still had a good amount of spice and enough plot to hold my attention.
Killian and Sylvie’s story interested me from the beginning until the end. Their hate/love banter was something I thoroughly enjoyed, making me chuckle a few times. Killian is part of a billionaire Scottish family, a grumpy recluse living in his ancestral home in Scotland and regularly throwing raunchy house parties. Sylvie’s life seems to have just imploded when the opportunity for a marriage of convenience falls into her lap, so she jumps at the chance. Sylvie can survive one year of marriage before she can walk away, move on, and start her own life at the end of the year. While this is part of a new series, Keep Me can be read as a standalone. I thoroughly enjoyed Keep Me, which is a candidate for a future re-read, making it worthy of a 5 / 5-star rating, in my opinion.

If Sara writes it, I’ll read it. This one is so different from other ones I’d read by Sara, but I was captivated all the same.
Keep Me follows Sylvie, who ends up in a marriage of convenience to a grumpy brute Killian Barclay, as a ploy to get him out of the manor he resides in for his family and to get a payday for herself. These two absolutely despise one another but as with all things, the hate never lasts.
A burly man in an isolated manor in Scotland and a younger headstrong New Yorker who is to help make him more amiable to social company…it was giving beauty and the beast, which I adored. I wanted to give both of these characters a hug because of what they had gone through and it was such a wonderful story of them helping each other see that they other people as worthy of being loved.
While this was a billionaire romance, there was not an office in sight, only a library with a typewriter, so it was really a breath of fresh air in that genre. The TENSION between these two…you could just feel it in the air. And the spice once you got it…the spice as top tier as always, including some spicy parties at the Manor.
If you are looking for a broody Scottish billionaire romance, with a true enemies to lovers twist, please check this one out. Thank me later.

Boy am I a sucker for a grumpy MMC, and Killian is no exception. This enemies to lovers, arranged marriage story was full of bickering, emotion and steam. As the story goes on you find out what has made Killian and Sylvie the way they are and you can't help but to have it pull at your heartstrings.
This book wasn't quite as spicy as some of the other books Sara Cate has written but make no mistake it's just as good!

Listen, Sara Cate is my favourite author. This lady could write a telephone book and I’d gush over it. The impact that Sara’s words have on me are similar to those that any religious text ever did.
This novel is everything. In other books, scheming between characters stresses me out. In Sara’s books, the characters have nuanced emotions and recognize life isn’t black and white. Killian and Sylvie are such well developed characters. They both have deep back stories and hurts that they carry into the present. I was inspired by their courage to love themselves.
The spicy content in this book is extremely well written. There’s never a dull or boring scene. The extra extra spicy stuff was really fun to read. As always, I am excited to bring what I learned to my own relationship. I also didn’t realize how much I need a kilt in my life; working on getting hubby to recreate scenes with me lol
Honestly, it’s a 5+/5 for me. The ending makes me think there might be another book in this series and I’m drooling at the prospect of going back to Barclay Manor.

Talk about a fun read. Their banter is rude!! But that is just how they are and I really enjoyed it. These two are at each other’s throats right from the start. Add in a marriage of convenience and we’re in for a ride. The more these two are around each other the more they learn about the other, and why they are the way they are. With their banter comes off the charts chemistry! Killian started feeling possessive early on, but not understanding why. These two are perfect for each other and the more we get into their story the more it shows. This isn’t what I would normally expect from Daddy of Spice but it totally worth the read!!

This book was a bit different from what I tend to expect from Sara’s books, but I still very much enjoyed it. These two characters could not stand each other from the very beginning, but enter into a mutually beneficial arrangement, but that combined with the forced proximity led to so much tension. These characters were so frustrating at times, but it felt more realistic that way, because again, they are two people who genuinely do not like each other, with seemingly nothing in common, but are stuck with each other.
Don’t think this book is lacking in the spice department either, because this is a Sara cate book after all, so expect swingers parties, exhibitionism, etc

Oh send me to Scotland to find my Killian.
The man is sex on a stick.
More to this story bu had to get that out of my system.
Sylvie and him have a marriage of convenience one could say. But oh well. It wouldn’t be the 5star book if that’s all it was.
Super spicy and a HEA.

What an incredible start to a new series by @saracatebooks! The perfect example of a grumpy/sunshine story when Sylvie "runs into" Killian. Their dynamic is one of my favorites so far and there were so many new characters that I can't wait to find out more! This book captivated me from page one and I couldn't put it down! Definitely loved the character development but also the relationship between Sylvie and Killian is so complicated from the start and did i mention the spice?! Oh the spice is... spicy to say the least. If you know Sara's writing you just know how good it will be!
Always be mindful of your triggers!

✨Killian & Sylvie✨
These two were a mess, but they were a mess for each other.
Sylvie is a spitfire, she stormed into his house and into his life without a second thought, he on the other hand was a grumpy man with a life of torment and stuck in his own ways but the two of them together were the perfect match. They helped heal each other in ways they didn’t even know they needed.
As always I recommend reading Sara Cate’s novels. She always delivers, with spice and plot.

🫠 me when Killian Barclay says “my wife”
A Sara Cate book always, always delivers — and this time she delivered me on the doorstep of a sexy Scot who is willing to put in the work to become the version of himself he knows she deserves. Killian experienced so much that shaped his character before we ever meet him on page, I loved the vulnerable, aching parts that made Sylvie his perfect match to help him heal.
Once again the perfect balance of steam and emotional damage.

When I picked this one up—I was not doing so well on my reading habits. Just a page or two a day to keep my streak alive. BUT—despite a rocky start to the book, this turned out to be one of my favorite things I’ve read. So much fun banter between these two, I couldn’t put this one down. There was good tension, great spice, and a truly sweet ending that made this a 5 star read for me.

In true Sara cate fashion this was a work of art. It’s so refreshing to read about two broken people finding the strength to not only love themselves but to love another. I truly connected so much with this world and i can’t wait to read more of it!

Easily one of the best books by S.Cate to date!
Sylvie is a strong fiery FMC and Killian is the perfect grumpy billionaire MMC. Their explosive chemistry gives us some of the hottest spice.
Their story had me captivated from the first chapter! Every heated exchange & every barbed word of banter brings their relationship to life.
Phenomenally written, capturing the depth of their relationship & growth, this is a MUST read!

I can't wait for more of this series!!

I’ve said it before and I'll probably say it for every Sara Cate book, but if she writes it, I will devour it.
I did end up loving Killian and Sylvie's story. Who doesn’t love an emotionally damaged Scotsman and some pretty intense tension between the 2 main characters? Killian's past was pretty darn heartbreaking, and his internal struggles just made him more relatable. I feel as though he fell first even though he really tried to fight it. His protectiveness and the jealousy from both sides was perfection.
Like with any Sara Cate book, the spice is always on point. I actually found this one to be more tame than I was expecting - not in a bad way, but some of the buildup to Killian's past made it feel like it could have gone further than it did. I was, honestly, hoping for it to go there but it didn’t.
I do think the beginning felt even more far-fetched than normal. How the sister (Anna) found Sylvie back in America and got her to sign the contract and then how Killian agreed to the whole thing without seeing anything in writing when he knew that his family was up to some funny business did not seem believable to me at all. Plus, the whole thing with her BFF and Ex boyfriend just ended and we didn’t hear anything from them again. Same situation with her parents. The mom came back but it felt like the resolution - good or bad- fell flat.
That is really why it was a 4 star and not a 5 star for me. I kept expecting some of those side plots or the spice to go that extra step and it just did not.

Sara Cate wrote a literal masterpiece. And the audio…oh my goodness, please bless your ears with the accent of Will Watt preforming as Killian. It is pure Scottish delight. Kelli Tager as Sylvie was just as enjoyable as well.
This story was just pure bliss from the first chapter. Sylvie is a mess and her life is a mess but she really gets a chance to find herself all while in this fake marriage she’s entered into with Killian, all while falling deeply in love and willing to give everything up for him in the process.
Justin incredibly written and incredibly spicy, all in the perfect spots and best of ways. Sara just knows how to write a book where the character and story will captivate you and take you away on a journey like you’ve never been on before.
