Book Review: A Very Dinosaur Christmas by Adam Wallace Christopher Nielsen (illustrator).
Rating: 4 Stars
When I first picked up A Very Dinosaur Christmas by Adam Wallace, I was immediately charmed by the idea of dinosaurs crashing the holiday festivities. As a fan of both dinosaurs and Christmas, I couldn't resist diving into this delightful picture book.
In this whimsical tale, Wallace takes us on a hilarious journey where dinosaurs decide to join in on the Christmas celebrations. Just imagine the chaos that ensues: a tree that gets chomped, an Ankylosaurus wedged in the chimney, and a Christmas dinner that disappears in a flash! It’s a perfect recipe for festive hilarity, and I found myself chuckling at the absurdity of it all. The story unfolds with lively rhymes and vibrant illustrations by Christopher Nielsen, making it a perfect read-aloud for kids and adults alike.
I have to say, I absolutely love a cute Christmas kids' book, and this one was just adorable! The illustrations are bright, colorful, and perfectly suited for any little dino enthusiast. Each page is bursting with energy, bringing the Christmas spirit to life in a way that's both engaging and entertaining.
One of my favorite aspects is the last page, which includes a fun ornament that kids can make. It's such a lovely touch that encourages interaction and creativity, making it more than just a story but an adventure for the whole family.
Overall, A Very Dinosaur Christmas is definitely a four-star read in my book. It’s not only a fantastic addition to any child's library but also a great way to start a new family tradition during the holidays. If you're looking for a fun and silly way to celebrate the season with your little ones, I highly recommend giving this book a try!

Toddler loved this book. I thought it was very cute, flowed well, and loved the little rhymes. The craft idea at the end was a cute addition to the story too!

Very engaging to children. Lovely bright illustrations. I loved the first few pages with all the dinosaurs and the text.

My littles adored the pictures in A Very Dinosaur Christmas. The silly antics and the fun rhymes made this even cuter!

It is a sweet and simple tale of how various dinosaurs join the Christmas celebration. I enjoyed the rhyming prose and the bright, whimsical illustrations. I feel the Christmas sweater on each dinosaur was a nice touch. My kids laughed at the silly jokes, and I think this would be a good read-out-loud book for the holidays. There are no overly detailed dinosaur factors, and this works well for preschool-aged children. It is a secular version of the Christmas celebration, but I felt it was fitting, given the dinosaurs. I enjoyed this book and am interested in the author's other tiles.

This just became a new favorite Christmas book to add to my collection!!! My Dino loving babies love it too! The illustrations are stunning and we all laughed. Thank you NetGalley and Tommy Nelson.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and Adam Wallace for allowing me to read and review this book.
This was a very cute and funny children's book. This is perfect for any dinosaur loving kid around the holidays. It shows many different types of dinosaurs, and the different types of havoc they can bring if invited to Christmas celebrations. I will definitely be buying this book for my nephew and future kids to read around the Christmas tree.

This was super cute, super fun, super silly. Interesting storyline? Maybe could have used a couple extra lines to tie the first and second half of the story together.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tommy Nelson publishing for providing me with an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received an Advanced Reader copy. I read the story to a six year old. She loved the bright colors and all the dinosaur antics. A bonus was how to make dinosaur ornaments. Who doesn’t love glitter! The magic of Christmas comes alive through the dinosaurs. Cute! Sweet!

Cute rhyming book combining Christmas and Dinosaurs. Pictures are colorful and some are funny-you just know that the boys will love the dino underwear being hung by the chimney! A dinosaur craft at the end is a nice touch. Any little dino lover will want this book. Thanks to NetGalley & Mr Wallace for the ARC Adobe copy to review in exchange for an honest review.

This is an adorable, very colorful story of how it might be if dinosaurs came to our house and spent Christmas with us. The delightful, fun story is all in rhymes with just a few sentences on each page. The colorful graphics will appeal to both adults and children. This book is entertaining, and fun, sure to hold the attention and delight every child.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions and comments are my own.,

This is such a cute story for little kids. The dinosaur loving kids will be ecstatic. The illustrations are very colorful and festive. It’s a perfect holiday book for your special child.

Starting with three pages of decorated dinosaurs complete with their proper names, this rhyming story about Christmas giving is a real joy.
It even includes instructions to make a dinosaur ornament.
The illustrations by Christopher Nielsen are exceptionally delightful, with brilliant colors, and adds to the fun.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone aged 4-110, but especially to a school, church library, or your local public library!
I requested and received a free temporary uncorrected e-proof on Adobe Digital Editions from Tommy Nelson via NetGalley. Thank you!

The illustrations alone are worth owning this book. The baby Dinosaurs are soooo ADoooooRrrrable!!!!! I do have a problem with all these children books making fun of T-Rex’s short arms. Leave the fella alone. He was born with them tiny arms. It’s not his fault he can’t pass the gravy during dinner time. Geeze.

This book was adorable!
I loved how the author decided to make the words/lines flow with rhyming. This was such a smart choice to make because the rhyming moved the story along at a nice tempo, while at the same time not feeling forced or stretched at all. I liked the plot, secondly, because the conflict built up and then reached a nice resolution right at the end, tying up the whole story with a nice bow. Another impressive writing feat was how the author fit all of the dinosaur names into the story flawlessly. It didn't feel clunky at all!
Perfectly complementing the great story, the illustrations were so cute, and funny at times. Kudos to the illustrator for being so clever and implementing little details into each illustration. Kids will love this! Additionally, I adored how colorful and cute the dinosaurs were. The only thing I will say is I think there was too much of a difference between the detail of the dinosaurs and the detail of the children. On pages where there were both kids and dinosaurs the kids looked a little out of place. Aside from that, the drawings were amazing!
Lastly, I think it was a great choice to include a fun art activity at the end of the book so that kids can do something with their love for dinosaurs outside of reading this book.
I believe that kids (especially ones that are obsessed with dinosaurs) will enjoy this book year round and it might even become a favorite.

Thank you so much to Tommy Nelson and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
The dinosaurs have come to stay for Christmas, but they like to destroy things and get in the way. Then the whole day becomes ruined and the little boy is so sad, but the pterodactyl saves the day and makes it one of the best.
This was a really fun story, I love seeing the trouble all the dinosaurs were getting into throughout the pages, from eating the tree, to destroying the chimney, gobbling the whole meal up and so much more.
This is the perfect read for anyone that loves dinosaurs, it’s so funny and a really fun read, there’s so much going on in each page, it’s a completely different twist on a Christmas book and it grips you throughout. I loved looking at the illustrations seeing what all the various dinosaurs were up to on each page.

Move over Dasher and Dancer... The Dinosaurs are ruling this Christmas!
With beautiful, colourful illustrations, and fun, rhyming text, A Very Dinosaur Christmas had us laughing out loud. From the Dracorex eating all the decorations, to the Anklysaurus getting stuck in the chimney, my children and I were charmed!
This book is full of emotion, and all the Christmas feelings. I think it beautifully represented how even at Christmas, you sometimes need to use your resilience to overcome the disappointment of plans not going right (I mean, the dinosaurs ate all the food in a single gobble), but you can find joy in the unexpected (like the sharing of presents with one another).
This book was very entertaining for myself, as well as my dinosaur loving 6 year old who understood the humour within the book, and my 2 year old who enjoyed the rhyming storyline. A special shout out for the dinosaur illustrations and naming guide on the front and end pages - these are gorgeous - and my eldest spent a lot of time analysing these pages.
Thank you NetGalley and Tommy Nelson for the ARC of this book. We highly recommend it, and will definitely reading more of Adam Wallace's books in the future!

I love Adam Wallace and this one was definitely one for the library! I will be adding this one to our collection for sure.

I read this book with my 5 year old daughter, and it was an instant favorite. We will be buying this for our own library when released, she absolutely loved it. The book was super cute and the illustrations were amazing, there is also a really cute craft at the end that we will try out around the holidays. I would definitely recommend this children's book!

What happens when dinosaurs take over Christmas? Madness and crazy cuteness. This dinosaur story is like no other since Christmas is involved! The story rhyming and illustrations make this story just a cool adventure for all children.
