Like most of Tessa Bailey's books, this is a mix of fun, spice and slight ridiculousness (suspension of belief? I'm fumbling to finding the right wording but obviously the feeling works because I always seem to come back to kick my legs and squeal while reading, lol). This read longer than most novellas, I almost wish instead she had taken to full length so that it would have had more time to grow but overall fast, fun, spicy read. I enjoyed the roll reversal of grumpy sunshine.

Okay, I adore Tessa Bailey and will read literally anything she writes, but Window Shopping wasn’t a total win for me.

The concept? So cute. A cozy holiday romance set in NYC with a window display makeover competition?? YES PLEASE. The setting had me in my Hallmark feels, and the aesthetic vibes were ✨immaculate✨.

But the story felt a bit rushed, and the main character's darker backstory felt kinda out of place for such a short, fluffy read. Like… I wanted more build-up, more depth, more slow burn, you know? The romance happened really fast, and I wasn’t totally sold on the connection.

Still, the festive vibes and creative concept carried it for me. If you’re looking for a quick holiday read with a sprinkle of spice and big city charm, this might be your thing! Just go in knowing it’s more vibes than depth 💁‍♀️🛍️🎁

What I love about Tessa Bailey is that she never takes the conventional third act break ups. I'm always spending the second half of the book being like I bet this is what they'll have a fight about and then its something so different and sparks such honest conversation that I love it every time. This book was no exception and was lovely to read.

This was a really sweet Christmas/holiday romance. Stella and Aiden’s connection is refreshing and endearing.
Stella has just recently been released from prison, having made some bad choices as a teen, and she’s getting her footing in the world. She has a chance meeting with Aiden outside of a store. She doesn’t realize he’s in management and gives him her honest opinion of the store window displays.

She has to learn to trust him and herself as she receives a second chance at her dreams and love.

The spice was sublime and the pacing was perfect. I think this is one of Tessa’s best!

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

I love how unconventional it starts out with Stella being young and just getting out of Prison. Trying to start a new life for herself she lands a job fixing a department window for the holidays. All while trying to ignore that her new boss is HOT!

I absolutely love Tessa, but this book wasn't my favorite of hers! I thought that the plot was a little thin, and the main character had a randomly dark backstory that I didn't feel made sense for this short of a story. The relationship between the two main characters happened really quickly too. I loved the setting, however, and the idea of the window dressing competition was really fun!

I AM A TESSA BAILEY FANGIRL!!!

I read this book back when it was indie published, and was so excited to see it get picked up! It's got all my favorite things, Christmas, spice, grumpy sunshine, and an all around good time.

If you're looking for a quick, fun and festive read around the holidays, I recommend!

I'm so aware that I read this during the wrong season all thanks to unfortunate circumstances, however, I still thoroughly enjoyed this romance.

this was the perfect length for a holiday romance. it moved fast, but worked for the story. it had just the right amount of holiday theme and is veryyy spicy if you want to warm up the christmas season. I also appreciated the depth that tessa brought into this one. it was pretty unexpected!

I loved the spice personally. I just had a hard time feeling that the main characters connected. It just felt like a forced relationship and not at all natural. Overall I did enjoy the book and the spice and banter was enjoyable.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This was cute but I unfortunately keep running into the issue with Tessa Bailey where none of her books are really for me. However, this is absolutely something I would recommend to others looking for something cozy and spicy for their holiday reading!

2.5⭐️ kind of boring imo and I thought there would be more spicy scenes since it’s a novella from Tessa Bailey.

This book was mediocre at best in my opinion. It was not as engaging as possible. I did not like the characters. And it was not believable to me.

Stella has recently got out of prison after a series of bad choices involving her childhood best friend. Contact between them was severed in prison and she has struggled pushing aside that voice in her head holding her back while trying to become more confident and optimistic. She runs into Aiden standing in front of Vivant’s new penguin massacre of a Christmas window. He is able to get her to honestly tell him what her ideas would be to improve the window leading her to an opportunity to become Vivant’s window designer. While Stella is falling in love with her dream job, Aiden is falling in love with Stella. Aiden grew up separated from most of his family and has worked hard to impress them. But after meeting Stella he realizes that he can’t only be optimistic all the time in hopes of fixing everyone else’s problems. He needs people who will stand by him and allow him to be himself as well.
I loved each of the characters backstories and how they grew throughout the story but most of all I loved all of Aiden’s Christmas themed bow ties.

This was such a fun and spicy Christmas rom com. I loved Aiden. He was sweet and a bit nerdy. Stella was such a relatable character. A short book but a great read! Loved the romance

Unfortunately, this was a DNF for me. I would absolutely love to revisit this book in the winter season.

I could not relate to the characters and overall storytelling, but typically enjoy Tessa Baileys stories

Thank you for giving me the opportunity and I will absolutely revisit this book!

This is the Tessa I like, the one that writes an incredibly yummy cinnamon roll MMC. The cute story felt like a Christmas-time hot chocolate.
Love, very little tension, spice, HEA!

I would recommend this to anyone that wants a quick, easy, Holiday story.

Thank you #NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is a good book the two main characters are Stella and Aiden. There is an instant attraction. Stella has just been released from prison serving a four year sentence. Aiden is the CEO of a department store. They meet in front of the department store at its window display. Aiden thinks the display is awful. He ask Stella what she would change, tells her to apply for the job. She does and he hires her. She does a great job on the window displays and increases business. They start dating and fall in love.
