Loved book 2 in the nurses series and couldn’t wait for the 3 rd book
Daniel hurst is a great writer and this series is a great addition to his gallery

**WARNING: Do NOT read this review if you haven’t read the first in the series – The Perfect Nurse**
I was so excited to read book 2 in the series and I wasn’t disappointed!
It’s been 3 months since the incident and Darcy has started a new life in Florida far far away from her past and family. To aid her memory loss, after being diagnosed with retrograde amnesia, she has a notepad that her sister, Pippa, made for her, to help her navigate her life away from Pippa and her family with a note, photos of the family and also 2 important rules: 1. NEVER WATCH THE NEWS and 2. NEVER EVER COME BACK HOME. After a disastrous trial run as a coffee shop waitress, she gets given a job from one of the coffee shop customers, Parker, as a carer for his elderly father, Joe, who is in the early stages of Dementia. Darcy is attracted to Parker, but Joe keeps trying to warn her off with loaded statements about Parker and his secrets. Darcy doesn’t know who to believe. Meanwhile, Pippa is still back in Chicago trying to process the events of what happened 3 months ago and keep her parents and husband in the dark as to why Darcy suddenly vanished from their lives. When out of the blue, a person from Darcy’s past, who Darcy and Pippa knew well, turns up at their parent’s home and starts making threats, Pippa feels she has no choice but to take action to keep Darcy and herself safe and out of prison. This, however, opens a huge can of worms with the truth of what happened 3 months ago and why Darcy has disappeared, spilling out. Suddenly not only Darcy and Pippa are in danger but so are their parents, Pippa’s husband, Karl and their little 4 year old son, Campbell. When a body is found in Lake Michigan the family know it’s only a matter of time before the authorities start to connect the dots so they decide to go on the run, however they are missing Darcy and have no idea where she could be. Back in Florida, has Darcy made another mistake by trusting the wrong person and putting herself in more danger than ever? Will her family manage to avoid capture and get away safely? And if so, will Darcy and her family ever be reunited when it seems every single odd is against them?!
I said it in my review for the 1st book, but I am so glad I waited to binge this series as honestly waiting for the next instalment would have been so hard. The prologue was so intriguing, and I really enjoyed hearing from both Darcy and Pippa in this book (the first was just told from Darcy’s POV). I liked Darcy in the first book, and I did like the character of Pippa in this book too. Although at times I did feel sorry for her as protecting her sister was costing her a lot in terms of the relationships she had with her parents and her husband but despite this she always had Darcy’s back. This tale definitely had my head spinning and I was staying up way too late to read just one more chapter (always a sign of a good book) as it was just so compelling. There were more twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and I actually gasped at the chapter just before the epilogue, which was brilliant.
This book was definitely just as good as the first and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3. An extremely well deserved 5 stars for book 2. I highly recommend it.
Thank you to NetGalley, Daniel Hurst and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy. Out now.

The Nurse's Lie is the second book in The Perfect Nurse series.
Normally I am really excited to read a book by Daniel Hurst, but this one was not in the cards for me. I struggled to keep reading it. I found it to be flat.

The Nurse's Lie by Daniel Hurst was the first book I had read by him and it will likely not be the last. I am a huge psych thriller book reader but have been in a bit of a thriller reading slump, but this book was just what I needed. The Nurse's Lie took me by surprise: the premise and conversations/reflections on the complexities of morality were so interesting. Though it's part of a series, I read The Nurse's Lie as a standalone and was still able to follow what had happened in the previous book. You got to see Pippa's character development and her internal conflict over the crime she had committed. Thank you NetGalley for providing me an ARC!

I was so excited to dive into the second book of the series, I was a big fan of The Perfect Nurse and was looking forward to seeing how the story would continue. Was happy to see the continuation of Darcy‘s character, but enjoyed the addition of Pippa.

This is book two in the Nurse's series. I wasn't sure if I was going to continue, but I love a book series, so I carried on.
The story picks up with Darcy now living in FL and away from her family and her past. She's caring for an elderly man with dementia, named Joe. Slowly her past is resurfacing and Joe, despite losing his mind, is figuring it all out.
While enjoyed the continuation of this story, too much of it was recapping what happened in the last book. I didn't need all that since I already read the first book, as I'm sure many readers also did. I did enjoy that the book was told from both Darcy and her sister Pippa's point of view.
And even though I didn't love this book, I'll still continue on with the final book in the series.
⭐️⭐️

This second installment of The Perfect Nurse series is intense and unpredictable. It started a little slow, but the action quickly picked up as the tension increased. I enjoyed how the story was told by the sisters and how they were motivated by familial ties. The ending was nail-biting and left me looking forward to book 3 of this suspenseful, entertaining series. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my copy.

Not much I can say without giving spoilers away. It felt like a rehash of the first book, just with different characters added in, and no real depth to it. We didn’t get much character development either. The main characters kept making stupid and serious mistakes that could have been avoided, but it is what it is. Honestly, yes, it was fast-paced as usual, but the only things I liked were seeing Pippa's POV and what she gets up to, and I also really liked Joe! I did like it a bit more than the first book, but not by much. I’ll continue to book three to see how it plays out when it releases, but let’s hope it stops after that.
⛥☽please do not milk it to death.☾⛥
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read this! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Daniel Hurst has become one of my favorite authors just from this series alone.
Darcy is hired to care for an elderly man with dementia and is trying to make it day to day in a brand new city. Darcy hears this man accuse people of some pretty nasty stuff and soon she doesn't know what to do. Does she believe this man? Does she go to the authorities?
This book had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails waiting to see what happens next. This was a very quick and easy read - a palate cleanser if you will. It had me hooked and invested throughout the whole book.
I liked this book and the first book in this series so much that I went and ordered a bunch of this authors books and I am really looking forward to another book in this series. I will forever recommend this author to anyone that will listen to me talk about it!

The skill of Daniel hurst means it might be book 2 but you can read this without knowing the first. Told from the pov of the sisters Daecy and pippa. This is dull of drama and twists and turns. This for me was more about Pippa and it got me more invested in her . As always it ended too quickly and I'm hoping I don't have to wait roo long for another instatelment. The characters are so well written it's a real page turner. Need to view it as a slightly different story to the first to fully appreciate this bring more depth to the original story and sets up one hell of a finanle.
Thank you netgallery and publisher and author for thus highly recommended 5 star read.

Wow!! In true Daniel Hurst form, the twists and turns were jaw dropping! I love the characters and would read 100 more books about them. Another 5 star by Hurst, which I'm quickly learning is to be expected!

Enjoyable book again. I can not waitnronsee what Darcy and Pippa have in store in the 3 rd installment. Daniel's books have been page turner thrillers. Enjoyable characters.

She's back. And she's still perfect. Er, uh...whatever that means. The story continues and unfolds with more juicy secrets. It was great to get more details and some closure. I was happy to get the ending we did. Loved the bits of deception mixed with happy family moments. You have a way with that.

First of all thank you for approving my request!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The authors writing style had me hooked throughout this book.
I didn't want it to end, a book I really couldn't put down.

Holy crap .. He did it again I don't know how he does.. I totally thought I had to put figured out but boy was I wrong to twist in this book you just got to read it for yourself and find out and ur gonna think you have it figured out but you will be wrong . I lost time reading this book because I got so into it.

📚✨ BINGE READ ALERT! ✨📚
*The Nurses Lie* by Daniel Hurst is like a rollercoaster with NO brakes! Thrilling doesn’t even BEGIN to cover it. I was absolutely glued to this one and devoured it in one sitting! 🤯
The twists and turns are relentless. Every chapter pulls you deeper into the mystery, keeping you guessing and on the edge of your seat. If you love a good, heart-pounding read that keeps you guessing until the very last page, this is a MUST READ! 📚❤️🔥

I have found a new incredible author with this story. I was able to read this super quickly because I found myself unable to put it down. The multiple perspectives gave a full wrap around story that I felt I was involved in. The lengths this family will go through to protect each other is absolutely gripping. The utter chaos that takes place in Darcy and Pippa's life keeps you wanting more. Such a great story, I cannot wait to read book 3. I highly recommend!! Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read an advance review copy of this book

This was a great sequel to The Perfect Nurse. It was fast paced and I didn’t want to stop reading. It was good to find out more about Pippa and Darcy and what happened after Laurence died.
Darcy was working for Parker- she was caring for his dad who had dementia and she had a crush on Parker. She had no memory of her accident or Laurence’s death and she still didn’t remember her parents or her sister Pippa. Pippa wrote their names down and her parents address in a notebook and gave it to Darcy before she left. Parker’s father Joe kept warning Darcy off Parker and told her he wasn’t a nice man. Darcy followed Parker home one night and the outcome was disastrous.
Pippa was trying to hold things together for the sake of her son and husband while trying to support her parents who were sad to have lost Darcy again. Things got even worse when Eden turned up looking for Darcy and wanting to know where Laurence was. Pippa was in despair and rapidly things spiralled completely out of control.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.

This book is number 2 in the Perfect Nurse series. I suggest you read the 1st book as you might get confused. I love Daniel's books, and I certainly wasnt disappointed with this one. Cant wait for number 3 to come out.

I was so excited to read the sequel to The Perfect Nurse- I absolutely LOVED it. However, this book fell flat for me.
I felt like it was slow, lacked character development, and was just meh.
I will continue to read books by this author, but this one is my least favorite of the ones I hav read so far.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC
