**Thank you to OwlKids Books in conjunction with SLJ Picture Book Palooza for the ARC. This in no way changed my rating**

My absolute FAVORITE picture book of all-time is [book:How to Party Like a Snail|60667702]. I love that it was a nod to neurodivergent or introverted kids who may feel isolated from their more extroverted classmates and that they can still "party in their hearts". So imagine how excited I was to find my beloved snail is getting a sequel!

In this one, Snail (joined by his friend, Stump) are adventurous, but not so adventurous that they want to leave their forest. They find things to do that are fun at home. Along the way, they make some new friends who also want to staycation. The story hits a lot of the same beats as the original, but has it's own fun twist at the end. I can't wait to see this one in print.

From the author that brought us How to Party Like a Snail comes another installment of our lovable introverted character Snail as he navigates creating his perfect staycation. Snail loves an adventure, but only certain quiet parts like map reading, listening carefully to the sounds of nature, and collecting souvenirs. Other adventures can contain too much noise, and overwhelm Snail, and he declines his friends offers to travel and experience new places. But Snail and his friend Stump decide that instead of traveling somewhere to vacation, they will explore the sights and quiet sounds of the world around their home. I loved Hrab's first book with Snail, and this book didn't disappoint! I love how Snail's character is more introverted, and shares ways that life can be enjoyed more quietly. I think that this book and Snail share with children that being themselves is more important than throwing themselves in uncomfortable situations that others enjoy. A wonderfully illustrated social-emotional picture book!

How to Staycation Like a Snail by Naseem Hrab is a cute and cheerful book that sings the praises of enjoying time at and around home. Snail loves exploring but vacations can be noisy, filled with noise confusion and just too many new things. Snail shows us that we can have fun and be explorers even in familiar territory. The illustrations provided by Kelly Collier and funny and charming, a perfect compliment to the text. I read an egalley of this book, given to me by Netgalley in exchange for a fair review.

How nice to see Snail again! In this super cute follow-up to How To Party Like A Snail, Snail is continuing to do enjoy things in his own way. This time it's vacations! For Snail, a staycation, is the way to go so Snail and Stump explore their own backyard and make some new friends along the way.

I’m so excited I found this book!! My students love Elephant and Piggie but most of them have read them all. Well look no further, this is the perfect read for kiddos who love Mo Willems.
Snail and Stump were adorable friends who showed that it’s definitely possible and okay to have a staycation and find adventure at home. I think this would be a great read when school first starts back up to talk about summer break and what everyone did over the summer. Cute and sweet!

In this cute book Snail explains that he loves adventures but isn’t a fan of noise, crowds or other overwhelming things. He decides to have an adventure at home, in his own back yard. With interesting illustrations and silly speech bubbles, this book is one that kids will enjoy looking at. The font is easy to read and is often black on a white background. I could see young readers enjoying this book with an adult or on their own. I think this would be a fabulous addition to my classroom library and could definitely see myself reading this to my class. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this sweet book.

I love this series and was so excited to read the next adventure! This book is for every homebody who enjoys a staycation. It quickly highlights reasons some people like to travel for vacations and some prefer to stay home. It is very well written and hits the main subject with easy language for kids and humor throughout. The art is beautiful and consistent with what's been seen through the rest of the series. I'd recommend this for ages 4+.

What a fabulous story! It enraptured me as soon as Mr. stump joined the Snail on his staycation.
This would be wonderful for kids to explore the place where they live. It shows that nothing is too silly or ridiculous about things they discover. Good discussion starter for parents who also need to take the time to discover what things are right there where they live. I heartily recommend this book for every family.
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

A wonderful addition to any library picture book collection, especially as families find themselves looking for an upbeat way to frame a change of plans from vacation to staycation (due to health or environmental concerns).

The engaging text and imaginative illustrations are perfect for exploring one on one with a lap sitting child, while the subtle humor will appeal to the older reader and make what are sure to be repeat reads more enjoyable for everyone involved. Paired with something like Finding Wild by Megan Wagner Lloyd, How to Staycation like a Snail encourages young readers to explore and celebrate the magic of the familiar. Thank you to NetGalley for access to this delightful arc!

What a cute story for kids to show them they can have a vacation by just going in to their back yard and exploring. Snail doesn't want to go away with all of his other animal friends, he likes things slow and steady and want to have a vacation at home. He and his friend the tree stump find things that they can appreciated when just staying home. A cute story about leaning to slow things down and enjoy where you are.

How to Staycation Like a Snail is a really cute picture book about a snail who finds travel overwhelming. He decides to stay home and explore the wonderful adventures that are nearby.

The illustrations are extra cute on this one. I really loved all of the expressions that the illustrator gave snail. The text was just right to keep young readers engaged. I loved the overall messaging that it is ok to vacation in whatever way makes you comfortable.

Thanks to Naseem Hrab, NetGalley, and OwlKids Books for the chance to read and review!

This homebody thought How to Staycation Like a Snail was a super cute book! I mean, I LOVE a great road trip, but sometimes I just want to stick a little closer to home and go somewhere within an hour or two drive.

I love the illustrations and I love how the author showed that staycations can be just as fun as an epic adventure far away.

I also love that she created a friendship between a Snail and a stump, of all things. This books showed that two like-minded friends could enjoy the beauty of their own backyard, without having to go do the "bright lights and big city" thing. She showed that even though our friends might like to do something like that, we can be 100% okay with doing our own thing that WE enjoy.

I absolutely love how to party like a snail and this is a worthy follow up! (The fact that I’m on a staycation right now just adds to the immaculate vibes.) love a quiet snail getting to celebrate and vacation the way he wants and needs. The artwork is adorable and I hope their are many more snail books to come!

Awesome for adventurous kids who always want to be on the go!

As a mom of two mini explorers (girls- 2 and 5), anytime there is a mention of a trip out comes the binoculars, the book bags, and packing of snacks.

The illustrations are cute and help put meaning behind the words. Some of the depictions cause some giggles. We are big on details in the illustrations and while these where simple, they still allowed us to discuss and talk about what is going on.

The content was very cute. I love when there are messages hidden within the story. This allows my littles to be reminded that there is plenty to do at our home if they look for adventure.

Thank you NetGalley, Naseem Hrab, Kelly Collier, and Owlkids books for allowing my to review a digital copy.

I also post on Instagram all of my reviews @_RayLayneBooks_.

This silly tale about an introvert snail had me giggling. Many of the jokes went over my 4 year olds head and the book was a little confusing about the overall message. However, I believe it would be a great book for storytime when used to discuss friendships, different perspectives on what it means to have fun, and teaching kids to understand what it means to have fun near home and why that may be what some people prefer to do. The illustrations are so adorable and I loved the relationship between Snail and Stump.
