Honestly, I wouldn't mind following Kyra, Mason, and Zoe while they just do regular chores because they are an absolutely fabulous trio! Zoe has the most interesting ideas, and talent for shenanigans, plus the best contacts into the wild and wierd and Mason is so caring and really good at patching people up and the voice of reason, and now that Kyra has her memories back, she is super powerful and can fully utilize her special connection with Daisy (totally awesome cat!). They are at the top of their game for the last book and it pulls no punches! Artec needs to go down, plus there also are other ghosts that need help. So much action, so much friendship and people that Kyra can rely on so she no longer needs to fight alone. Everything was ramped up, including an exploding ending and sweetness between Mason and Kyra! It is so wonderful and I enjoyed every minute, even as I knew it was going to be the last book in the series. So 5 stars and a crying face for the sadness that it is over.
Love this whole series and highly recommend it! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this wonderfully amazing book!

The Artec stuff just did not interest me. When it was first introduced I was somewhat intrigued but it became very corporate in book 5 and not at all scary. I enjoyed the non-Artec content with Agnes and The Home. There needed to be more Harry but Zoe was still a delight. I’m very happy about the situation with Mason and the ending was satisfying. Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC

I absolutely loved this! It was a great way to wrap up the main story though I hope it’s not the last we see of Keira

Another great Darcy book and another great addition to the gravekeepers series.
I enjoyed every moment and can not get enough of these characters

I binged all five books this entire series in 8 days! 8 days! That just goes to show how amazing Darcy Coates writing style by being able to draw you into the story with likable characters, spookiness that will have you on the edge of your seat, laughing at the banter all while looking over your shoulder at every shadow you see and every noise you hear.
The battle against Artec rages on as Keira and her friends travel to the headquarters location to finally bring peace to all the restless souls being held hostage by Schaffer and his cronies. Things don't always going according to plan and they will need the help of some very unlikely allies to assist in terminating this threat for good.
I loved the side plot as well with The Home and helping to help those souls cross over and give them justice. Jensen wasn't as careful as he thought he was.

First and foremost, thank you…Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for allowing me to receive an ARC of The Vengeful Dead by Darcy Coates for in return of my honest review. I am grateful to have gotten an early peek at this final book to the series.
I absolutely was drawn into it from the beginning. Darcy Coates writing is impeccable, straightforward, and vivid. I LOVED the characters and enjoyed the plot! Such a spooky horror story, Darcy is by far another favorite author of mines in this genre. A horror and suspenseful story!
If she writes it…I am buying it and reading it!

This was an amazing ending to the series! The characters had such great development and journeys throughout this intense story. Can’t wait to see what’s next from Darcy Coates!

To me the Gravekeeper series is Darcy Coates most successful series. It has a cozy feel with humor, a real mystery with paranormal elements, likeable main characters, thrilling moments. I don't know how you get any better. Bravo.
“But spooky is your business!”
This was the perfect ending to the 5 book series. Her battle against Artec comes full circle from them hunting her in book 1 to the dramatic conclusion. I will miss these characters. I loved all of the side quests to help ghosts. These books remain my favorite of hers.

Thank you so much to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for allowing me to read The Vengeful Dead in advance in exchange for my honest
feedback.
I am still absolutely in love with Darcy Coates' writing; she consistently creates a spooky yet cozy ambiance through her vivid descriptions. I particularly admire her ability to depict paranormal elements, such as ghosts and cemeteries, with such finesse.
Her writing style is straightforward and simple, yet it flows beautifully. I appreciate her use of short chapters, which keeps the pace engaging. The plot is fast-paced without feeling rushed, and the action is crafted so well that I could easily visualize every moment.
As usual, the characters are endearing and lovable. The exchanges between Keira and Agatha made me laugh and smile several times, and I enjoyed that little subplot alongside the larger narrative, it felt just as significant.
This book is a perfect way to conclude the series and stands out as an amazing read on its own.

And so the journey ends.. I'm so happy I finally finished the Gravekeeper series but am also so sad it's over. I'd read another 10 books about Keira, her cat, her friends and the ghosts. Every part of these books has felt like home for me which just goes to show once again why Darcy Coates is one of my favorite authors.

This was a very satisfying book to wrap up the series.
I appreciate how the author reminds me of what happened in the prior books. I did not remember a lot of book 4 (apparently) and the author did a great job of giving me the background without it seeming tedious or overdone.
The story was interesting. We have the main plot where Keira and crew are going after the evil Artec. There's also the side plot where she's helping some ghosts get justice. This follows the pattern from the other books, but the author does a great job of keeping it interesting and not feeling formulaic. In each book, the way the ghosts are helped is different. Sometimes she helps the ghosts before the main plot and sometimes after. It's done very well.
Probably my only complaint was the author seems to strongly prefer 2 syllable, 5 letter names. When we were getting the recap, I was so confused about how someone had died in book 4 since I don't remember them dying - no, I was confusing them with a different 2 syllable, 5 letter name. We have: Keira, Mason, Adage, Harry, Polly, Gavin. Then there are the 2 syllable, non-5 letter names: Zoe, Marlene, Schaffer. I think Dane was the only non-2 syllable name in the book? It made me a bit confusing since they all sound similar in my head.
Overall, this was a great finish for the series and I very much enjoyed the series from beginning to end.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for this advance review copy.

Ok, so somehow I missed this series! I went into this with no idea it was part of a series but I still thoroughly enjoyed the book! It COULD be read as a stand alone, obviously that's how it was for me. I liked it, but now I'm wishing I had read the rest of the series before this one..that's totally just a me mental type of deal. I liked it, went through it QUICKLY, and was as always super happy with the outcome. I love ALL THINGS DARCY so I have no clue HOW I kissed this whole series before now.

As always Darcy delivered! This was an interesting book and definitely keeps you turning the pages. Finished it quickly. So if you’re looking for a fantastic ghost story here it is! Thank you for the opportunity to read this!!

4 ghostly ⭐️’s
This is it: after four thrilling, delightfully chilling, and surprisingly touching adventures with Gravekeeper Keira (and friends) we’ve finally reached the fifth and final entry. Overall, despite a slightly rushed ending, I found it to be entertaining and worth the ride.
The Vengeful Dead continues its action-packed pace, though still manages to fit in a couple creepier, suspenseful chapters. As a whole, this series is more along the lines of a gothic thriller than horror/suspense; think Aliens vs. Alien.
Although I personally enjoy Coates’ darker forays into horror the most, I’d still recommend this series for anyone looking for a spooky-tinged thriller.
Note: Thanks to NetGalley for early access to this title in exchange for an honest review.

Darcy Coates is an auto-buy author for me. I love her take on horror and the supernatural. When I read the first book in this series, it ended on a cliffhanger and so I devoured the next books in the series quickly. Her books are a fun reprieve from the high fantasy and romantasy that I normally read. The Vengeful Dead was a great conclusion to a fun series.
Thank you to the publisher and the author for providing a review copy of The Vengeful Dead.

My review is also on goodreads. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Darcy Coates has done it again. Her books are an auto buy for me! She writes such good atmospheric horror and really sets an amazing setting. I don't get scared easily but when she writes a scene that is supposed to be scary... It's scary. I was so sad when this one ended because I felt like I was saying goodbye to an adventure that I was enjoying. I loved the setting of the town and the graveyard. I also really enjoyed the characters and I was rooting for them the entire time. Darcy Coates is probably my favorite author at this point and I cannot wait for her next book. Thank you to netgalley for allowing me to read this one!

I was super excited to get this book's advanced reader copy (ARC)! From the start, I really liked the characters and their cool world. Finishing the story was a bit bittersweet—I will miss Keira and her quirky crew, but I loved every moment of their adventure.
This book nails the emotional depth that’s often missing in the last parts of the series. It’s great to see a final book that takes time to wrap things up without rushing, keeping the pace smooth and the stakes high.
Darcy Coates is still my favorite horror author, and I can’t wait to see what she does next. Her ghost stories are always strong, combining creepy vibes with memorable characters. I hope she keeps exploring what makes her storytelling unique!

The Graveskeeper Series by Darcy Coates is one of my favorite series. The Vengeful Dead is the fifth and final piece of this story and what an ending. 👏
Kiera and her found family take a last stand against the evil energy corporation Artec that has been hunting her since book 1. There is also a side story where Kiera helps ghostly victims at an old Tuberculosis house called The Home.
Things I especially loved:
🩶 The imagery of a dying shopping mall was perfect.
🩶 Kiera learning by trial and error what runes can do, with the help of her cemetery ghosts.
🩶 Supernatural action reminiscent of the Netflix series Stranger Things.

I loved this series and so bummed it's over!
First, thank you Poisoned Pen Press for the arc and opportunity to read and review ahead of publication.
For five books we've followed Keira and her friends as they worked to uncover who she is and why she ended up in Blightly...and why she. could see and communicate with ghosts.
Throughout the series I loved the side quests more than the main — the actual ghost work Keira did was fascinating and I enjoyed her figuring out the ghost's unfinished business to help them cross over to the other side. I wish we'd had more of that this book, though understanding we really needed to get to the end.

I am very much a 'just let everyone die in the end' kind of horror reader (I know, I know) but I LOVED that this ended without any fatalities of the main and minor characters! I read The Hollow Dead in one day, but this one took me a little longer to get through even though it was super fast paced. I'm not sure if this was because I wasn't ready for it to be over yet, I wasn't feeling it entirely or if the day I read THD was just a very "on" day for me. This wasn't my favorite book of the series but it did the job just as it needed to. As I mentioned earlier, I would have liked to have had more of the side quest involving the home. Who were the victims? What happened to them? I did enjoy the nice little "twist" involving Agatha and why she really asked Keira for help.
If Darcy ever wanted to revisit the trio and what everyone is up to now, I would love it.

This was a great wrap up to the series. I will miss these characters and the town. If you haven't discovered Darcy Coates, check out this series.
