What got me out of a 7 year reading slump? One word - romance. In February of last year I FINALLY devoured a book, start to finish, after not having been able to do that for so long. 2024 has become a very meaningful year to me because of that: not only did I start to read regularly - daily - again, I also began to see being a reader as part of my identity again. I wanted to keep track of new publications to get myself more involved (which would eventually lead to me returning to book reviewing in 2025 - another important year in my reading journey).
NetGalley's Buzz compilations are fantastic, and I'm particularly grateful to (still) have access to this bundle specifically dedicated to the genre that helped me achieve a sort of triumph, with books published in years that gave me a huge part of my life back. Many of the titles in this bundle are familiar to me, which validates that I'm on top of my game here, haha. But what's more - I have found many lovely new titles in various romance subgenres to add to my TBR pile, and new authors to check out. Buzz books' (long!) excerpts give us a taste of whether a book is a good fit and I recommend reviewers check out any existing Buzz title available.
It's never to late to read any book, and I don't want to miss out on potentially wonderful reads AND authors anymore. Thank you, NetGalley for helping me find more books to fall in love with!

This collection has samples from romances, helpfully broken out into sub-genres such as comtemporary, regency, rom-com, romantasy, sci-fi, sports, and more. Some of these books I've already read, but have appreciated being able to sample some of the books I've missed, like Swordcrossed, Showmance, Fast & Reckless.

I always look forward to the new romance releasing. Especially enjoyed Jasmin’e Guillory last year. Thank you for making these collections.

An interesting preview of books! I've read several of them now, and they were worth the wait. These collections definitely make things interesting.

This was a nice taste of some romance books coming out. Not much to say other than I liked having a few samples of these titles in one place.

This is a really helpful guide to see what books came out in the genre of Romance in 2024. This is extremely helpful for me to get a sense of what to recommend to others to read this year now that they are all out! I loved how each book gave a picture of the cover (if available), a summary, and an excerpt which was usually a prologue or chapter. This helped me get a sense of each book in the catalogue, which is excellent for planning purposes as an educator.

As I’m trying to get more into romance in genres other than fantasy, this is a great overview of a number of titles I’ve heard of so that I can see which might be the best ones to start with.

This was a really helpful guide of recent romance books. I like to see what books were marketed and hopeful hits and which ones ended up being successes (first time caller especially) I’m looking forward to the 2025 edition.

Even though these previews are from 2024, I enjoyed reading the samples of some of the books that I was on the fence about.

I can always appreciate being able to preview a bunch of books at once! I’ve just borrowed one from my library as a result.

It was very interesting to see the genre breakdowns in this guide. I look forward to a 2025 edition.

These Buzz Books excerpt compilations for upcoming releases are such a boon. So glad I can use this to look back on a few of the romance releases I might have missed last year. And this is an amazing tool that allows you to have a little window into new authors and genres with shortened excerpts from upcoming titles!
So happy these are on NetGalley and a way to easily have a little overview of some of 2024s great romantic works. Thank you so much, Publishers Lunch, for putting together this NetGalley specific edition!

I'm so excited to have this! It's a great way to get a taste of some of the romance books I may have missed out on last year before I really got back into reading. I'll be sure to check out the ones that grab my attention!

I love these Buzz Books excerpt compilations for upcoming releases - this time Romance! It's a great way to dip your toe into a new author or genre by reading a little taste of an upcoming book. They make it so easy to request right through NetGalley after reading the excerpt. Thanks Publishers Lunch for putting together a NetGalley specific edition!

I know this is from 2024 but I just discovered the 2025 buzzbooks and was so excited to see a 2024 list as well. These lists are so organized and easy to maneuver and have given me so many new books to request and/or look into if they are already published at this time! Will definitely be keeping an eye out for upcoming buzz books opportunities!

buzz books 2024: romance is such a fun and helpful way to explore upcoming romance releases. it features a great variety of subgenres - contemporary, paranormal, sports, and more - so there's something for everyone! i loved how easy it was to navigate and how the excerpts were just long enough to give a solid sense of each book’s vibe. it’s perfect for testing the waters, discovering new authors, and deciding what to add to my tbr or request as an arc. definitely recommend flipping through if you're a romance reader looking for your next read.
thank you to publishers lunch and netgalley for the sampler!

Thank you to Publishers Lunch, NetGalley, and the authors/publishers included inside for the opportunity to read excerpts from some romance picks of 2024. Even though it's 2025 and I'm late to some of these, I'm excited to get into a few after reading the excerpt. I have read a couple since this came out - like First-Time Caller - and loved it. I've added a few to my list! Thanks so much. Excited to see what these authors have to share.

Romance offers a fun tasting menu for romance fans, featuring 21 sneak peeks from a wide range of romance sub-genres.
The format is user friendly, letting you jump straight to your favorite styles or dip into something unexpected. Each excerpt gives you just enough story to get a sense of the tone and characters without diving in too deep. It’s a smart, low-commitment way to see what might earn a spot on your TBR list. I ended up finding a few surprising ones!

Particularly remarkable in this compilation is B.K. Borison and her terrific writing in the romance genre, that both respects and uplifts the form for new and seasoned readers.

A wonderful read!
So many fun new reads! Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
