Soldiers of Love: Beautiful Scars is a compelling, good-girl versus bad-boy love story. Liberty Banks and Zion Mitchell first meet in grade school and quickly become best friends. Liberty is a shining star carrying a dark secret. Zion is a bad boy with a rough upbringing. In all her unique charm, Liberty is the only one who manages to bring out the softer side of Zion, and he develops a gentle love for her that he doesn't even share with his own mother. Liberty is Zion’s "Mrs. Forever," and everyone knows it. Their love story beautifully illustrates the purity and authenticity of young love. The scenes depicting schoolyard crushes evoked feelings of nostalgia, reminding us of the fun times we shared with our childhood friends. As graduation approaches, it marks the end of an important chapter for these childhood friends. Some friends are no longer there to celebrate, others have dropped out, and those who do graduate will go their separate ways and live different lives, despite their efforts to stay in touch. Soldiers of Love: Beautiful Scars is a black romance, second-chance love story that braids emotional scars with loyalty and redemption. I thoroughly enjoyed the story's heavy emphasis on forgiveness and healing. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy medium-paced, reflective second-chance romances that explore how past wounds shape present love. My star⭐rating 3.5/5-Good read!

It is a second chance kind of romance with the 90s back story when the main characters met as kids. It was more past than present. A cautionary tale. Emotional. An urban love story…kind of. Liberty and Zion think they’ll be together forever. Reality sets in though. Love, soul ties, forgiveness are themes. Really, two young people who love each other but want different things as they grow. I think I stuck with it to see who Liberty ended up with. That was unexpected as well which made the ending more realistic. A different kind of happy ending if you will. This one was just ok for me even though the audiobook was well done. I read the physical as well. I think the dual POVs were confusing at times.

It’s not just a romance, it’s about navigating love with all the baggage, heartbreak, and scars that come with life. This story felt grown. Like the kind of grown where healing is messy, but choosing love anyway becomes the most radical thing you can do. I loved how the characters didn’t shy away from the hard stuff. The trauma was real. The vulnerability was necessary. Sometimes we forget that scars are proof we survived and this book reminded me of that in the most beautiful way

Title fits perfectly for this story!!!! Beautiful story of ins and outs of young love. A tell of love, loss, friendship, betrayal and ultimately healing at its finest. Most people don't experience love (not even puppy love) until much older but Zion and Liberty found each other at a very ripe and young age. They were very impressionable yet knew what and who they wanted... each other. Together they experience love and heartbreak while fighting to keep their special bond. Beautifully done!!!!!

Soldiers of Love by N'Tyse and Untamed is a passionate romance that gets right to the heart of love and loyalty. This story is a must read. The authors’ writing is incredibly powerful. The struggles help create a deeper bond.If you want a romance that is both steamy and emotionally rich, this is perfect! Thank you to Black Odyssey Media and NetGalley for this Advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

An emotional story about love, loyalty, personal growth, challenges in relationships the courage it takes to fight for love. An emotional story about resilience, vulnerability and power of love.

First off, I love NTyse and Untamed. They are both my faves in the urban fiction world. Secondly, this book touched on so many subjects: love, loss, friendship, reunions, etc. I really enjoyed it. Zion was a perfect MC for this story and really carried it for me.

Soldiers of Love by N’Tyse & Untamed is a solid coming-of-age story that dives deep into love, soul ties, and the reality of outgrowing people—even when your heart still holds on.
Liberty and Zion had that once-in-a-lifetime connection from the jump. Their love started young and carried into their teenage years, but as Liberty began finding herself, she realized Zion no longer fit into the life she was building. The love never faded, but sometimes love isn’t enough. Her transition from Zion to Quincy was necessary growth—real character development that made sense.
What I really liked about this book is how real it felt. The growing pains, the nostalgia, the rekindled friendships—it all hit home. It’s one of those stories that makes you reflect on past relationships and those “what-if” moments we all have.
Overall, Soldiers of Love is a heartfelt, relatable read that perfectly captures the struggles of first love, self-discovery, and moving forward while still honoring the past. I really enjoyed it!

This book took me on an emotional journey through love, loss, and the hard choices we make to grow. Liberty, Zion, and Quincy’s story felt so real, and I found myself rooting for all of them in different ways. It’s a heartfelt tale about breaking cycles, choosing yourself, and finding redemption—I couldn’t put it down!

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me engaged and it only took a few days to read. I think this is going to be a good book club option for several clubs. I plan recommending to my book friends and I look forward to reading more by this author.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tale of love and sacrifice. The way the author told the story resonated deep within me. While captivating my attention the characters continued to pull me in deeper with every page turn. With the author being new to me this will not be my last read from them and I look forward to reading more.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me the opportunity to review Soldiers of Love by N'Tyse. This was a story of maturation, and coming into adulthood. As a 53 y/o woman, I found the characters and situations those that I can relate to; I feel as if I have known these characters at sometime in my life, although by a different name. Zion, Liberty's ex-boyfriend, still held her in high esteem, and regarded her as the one who got away. There bond was real, and he still trusted her, and wanted her by his side.
The love and bonds Liberty had for Zion was palpable; the soul ties between them were real. Liberty had a choice to make; would she give up the life/ family she created with her husband to reunited with Zion. I am glad that she went with what she knew was sure, and that brought her peace-- her husband. Liberty put her self first. This is a romance that is a must read.

Soldiers of Love was the perfect coming of age story that was real, relatable and one that kept me on the edge of my seat when it came to my emotions.
