In the book Creature Clinic a hospital for magical and fairy tale creatures ends up finding a human boy on the bottom of a giant's shoe. Humans are not allowed, but Kara can't stomach not helping a creature in need and saves him anyways.
I had a lot of fun reading this graphic novel. The artwork was so incredibly colorful and the variety of creatures was great. You had quite a bit of humor and creativity built into the story. Beyond that the story had so many thought provoking and character building themes. This will be an absolutely amazing addition to our school library!

Great story. Funny. Illustrations are appealing. My 8-year old loved this one and read it in a day! My library kiddos will love it also.

Kara is everything that a doctor should be, and why shouldn't she be? She's been training to be a doctor practically her whole life! With her mother running the Creature Clinic, she knew she was destined to wind up filling a similar role. That is not to say that Kara and her mother don't butt heads, though. They have very different views on how the clinic should run. Kara would help ANYONE in need, and that includes the human that her mother specifically forbid her from helping!
This graphic novel has a great cast of mythical creatures that get up to all kinds of hilarious hijinks. Readers are sure to enjoy seeing the Creature Clinic in action helping unicorns, giants, and more. This book combines light-hearted humor and family drama, while empowering kids to stand up for what they believe in. I will definitely be recommending this title to my avid graphic novel readers!

Humor, compassion, tension- this graphic novel left me in the feels! I think it has characters (Orcs, unicorns, giants) that students will really connect with. There was a great description of the graphic novel writing process at the end that I think kids will devour as well!

Creature Clinic is an absolute riot of strange fantasy characters in a unique setting - a hospital for mythical creatures. Resident Kara Orc was an excellent main character to follow - she was sharp, witty, and empathetic. She foiled well against her entitled fellow resident. Most poignant, though, was the story of Kara's relationship with her mother, the director of Creature Clinic. Kara's mother has always pushed her incredibly hard, without showing much other emotion. As Kara navigates the arrival of a human in their midst, she must also face her feelings towards her mother. This was a delight and I cannot wait to read it with my own children.

Kara Orc has spent her whole life training to be a doctor at Creature Clinic. She’s a pro at setting broken unicorn horns, treating tooth fairies with a build up of fairy dust, even patching up trolls who were knocked off their bridge, but she is not, absolutely not, allowed to treat humans. When a human in need mysteriously shows up at the clinic, she’ll have to decide if she will follow the rules or give the human the same care that she’d give any other creatures.
This graphic novel was so much fun! I enjoyed the imaginative ways that traditional mythological creatures were portrayed and the flip on the typical human/monster fear dynamic. In addition to the creativity and silly jokes, there is a sweet heart-felt story running throughout. This book has broad appeal. I’ll be recommending it to a wide range of kids, fans of silly stories, fantasy tales, and even good ‘ol coming of age stories.

This was a super cute graphic novel about overcoming prejudice, standing up for what is right and to fight against stereotypes. The illustrations are fun and colorful and the story was great.

I received and ARC of this book through netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book is a delight. An engaging story and quality illustrations combine to draw you in. Kids are going to love it. They'll also learn a lot about compassion and the dangers of discrimination. Highly recommend this read.

Creature Clinic is an adorable and heartwarming tale that pulls readers into a world where mythical creatures get top-notch care. Kara Orc, the determined doctor-in-training, shines as a compassionate protagonist navigating a dilemma that challenges her loyalty and ethics.

Super cute! I’m really glad I got to read an ARC. Humorous story about a hospital for magical beings and a junior doctor having to help a human who has stumbled into their world. It’s a fairly wholesome story about family and friends too. Very grade school appropriate and a good enough story to be fun to read as an adult too.

I absolutely adored this graphic novel. It was hilarious and had a creative, vibrant story. It also had a wonderful message of acceptance and being true to yourself. Overall, it was a super fun read that I think young readers will enjoy immensely. Highly recommend.

Requested this book on NetGalley for my 9-year-old who loves graphic novels. Here are his thoughts:
This book is about a hospital that is run by mythical creatures and monsters and helps other mythical creatures and monsters. Humans are NOT allowed in this clinic. I think this is a very good book, and I will recommend it to others who like myths and stories about mythical creatures. It's pretty funny. I wouldn't buy a copy of this book to add to my shelves, but I'm happy I got to read it.
Note: I received a review copy of this book via NetGalley.
