If there is one thing that I can easily make time to read, it’s a graphic novel/manga, because it just flows…

A solid read. This publisher NEVER disappoints with their comics, so I always look forward to finding the gem that best resonates with what I need in the moment.

🌵…review

Essentially, boy and brother have to deal with the aftereffects of “it couldn’t POSSIBLY get worse, could it?” By finding out that yes, yes, it could. Now, not only must you fight the demons that want to destroy humanity, but 12 OTHER things vying to wipe us out… Oh, and we also need to save individuals… Plus the main MC lost his arm.

Things are just ROUGH in this one… rough.

👏 Great read though. I am eager for book 2.

I vehemently trust ONE with anything because I connect with his humor off the bat. This premise is crazy enough to match what I like, so I'm already on board. I appreciate the humans scheming to pit all of their enemies against each other, which sounds like it's going to be ludicrous and interesting.

Hallow and his brother have to fight against several different natural enemies. They have to follow a plan if they want to succeed… A very gripping story with lots of action.

Versus is the first volume of a new story by One. From the author of one-punch-man my son expected a lot. He was happy, receiving the possibility to read this via netgalley.com. Thank you very much. He‘s looking forward to reading more about Hallow….

The first volume of Versus, a new project by ONE, bose and Kyoutarou Azuma, answers the necessity of summing up the whole amount of different tropes and repetitions you can find inside the overused isekai genre. Utilizing the most satiric genre about the quoted one, the anti-isekai in which the worlds collide around the characters, Versus integrates a war among natural enemies of humanity with an entire multiverse ready to fight them. The best thing is observing how a normal fantasy setting is slowly invaded by unconnected things one another but yet finding a unique artistic coherence, thanks to an incredible character design and a way of narrating the sequences which is always clear, despite a lack of experimentations in dialogues and interactions. However, the imagination and self-awareness for starting a production in which 13 worlds help each other in order to win this eternal fight is so unbelievable I can give me trust in this new production.

This volume started off on the slow side, there is a lot going on her so it's understandable. It's very interesting learning about all the world's and what type of apocalypse is happening. I'm excited to see what becomes of Hallow, I like his never give up attitude. The action scenes are amazing! I want to see where this story goes.

This is a really strong first volume. It was a bit long but still intriguing, and the premise is quite unique. I'm looking forward to continuing.

Oh my goodness, the absolute CHAOS of this plot!! It’s both funny and complicated and terrifying all at the same time. Because it was written by ONE I was honestly expecting One Punch Man to make a cameo but he didn’t which was a bummer but oh well! Still a great story, a unique take on the classic isekai with a scfi fi/fantasy twist! Definitely am interested to see where in the world all of this goes!

Many thanks to NetGalley for the ARC! The debut volume of ONE’s latest series brilliantly showcases the author’s knack for imaginative, genre-blending storytelling! The artwork is stunning, and the journey within just this volume is a thrill—from the vast, epic beginning to the gradual unveiling of its clever premise. I highly recommend diving into this one without any prior spoilers for the full experience!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for a chance to read this volume.

One once again cements their passion for weird little floating guys. Super fun, chaotic story here with multiple worlds colliding. A sort of isekaj on steroids if you will. I really enjoyed this one.

The first volume of ONE's new series continues the author's trend of wild and creative genre bending concepts! The art is also fantastic! I love the journey just in this volume from the size and scope of the story at the start to the end where we learn more and more about this clever setup. Highly recommend this one and go in blind if you haven't read anything about it!

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

This was ok. A lot of setup to the world and story. The characters felt a bit flat to me. I liked the art when it came to the monsters but felt like the human characters were very generic looking.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for the opportunity to read and review this manga. If you enjoy Suicide Squad Isakai’s world-building and Record of Ragnarök’s fighting, this manga is for you. For me personally on the other hand, was not a fan of this story and was not a fan of the artstyle. Overall, I have to give this a 2 out of 5 stars

Very promising start. Its been a while since a manga actually made me laugh put loud but I expect no less from ONE. Loved the artsyle and character design so so much!!
Versus by ONE, the creator of One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100, is an action-packed manga that brings a lot of excitement. Set in a world where humanity is fighting its last battle against powerful demons, the story focuses on a group of warriors taking on these monstrous enemies in a desperate attempt to survive. The world-building is solid, pulling you into a mix of magic, mystery, and intense combat. The art is especially eye-catching, with detailed action scenes and memorable character designs, particularly when it comes to the demons, who look genuinely intimidating. As you'd expect from ONE, the plot is full of surprises. Just when you think you know where things are headed, the story takes a wild turn, keeping you on your toes. However, the fast pacing can sometimes be a drawback. The action moves so quickly that there’s not always enough time to really get to know the characters. While the battles are a lot of fun to watch, the series could benefit from slowing down occasionally to develop the characters more and explore their backstories. Overall, Versus is an enjoyable, high-energy read with plenty of twists, and if you're a fan of ONE's previous work, you'll likely find a lot to enjoy here, even if it doesn’t dive as deep into its characters as it could.

Well, the premise of this manga is interesting. But this volume is 90 percent set-up for the story to come. The character design is not bad, but nothing spectacular. The characters are... well, rather bland. And this lets the whole thing down, They are too standard, too cliche. And while it works a bit within the premise, it's still not enough for me. The art is adequat, but nothing more than that. It may pick up steam in later volumes, but for now - average

Classic Isekai meets Halo...when humanity can no longer stand against the demon hordes, they create an inter-dimensional portal to summon help from another dimension. But no one could have expected that their help would drag their own baggage along with them.

This book was fine. It reads well for a junior high audience that enjoys long battle sequences and quick movement through the plot.

ONE has proven that he can conjure an unending stream interesting stories and captivating characters, with Versus as the latest in a consistent streak of creative genius. It remains to be seen if the story will progress in a way befitting of the name he has made for himself, but if past performance is any indication, Versus will be another classic.

This was not what I was expecting! Such an interesting concept that makes you want to keep reading and rooting for the heroes!

The demon king must be defeated and in this world heroes are tasked with taking out the kings generals to hopefully kill the demon king! One by one, though, the hero’s are eliminated.. except for one.
Another plan is unfolding to possibly save humanity, but even that is destroyed when another obstacle is thrown their way!

Can humans defeat these enemies or are they doomed for extinction?

The epic battles that I'd expect from the creator of One-Punch Man, and with recognisable nods to other popular apocalyptic series.
