This is a good palate cleanser book. It’s a quick read so that helps.
I would recommend it people looking for clean romances

The moment you mention about a cowboy and a romance, it's an automatic 5 stars from me! Now it's official, I'm moving to Colorado

Did I enjoy this book? Eh. Were the characters lovable or relatable? Also eh. But am I incredibly tired of the main character asking/answering questions to herself? YES
Rider’s Block missed the mark for me. I loved the premise but unfortunately it just wasn’t executed well.
The overall pacing was slow and the relationship between the main characters was simultaneously excruciatingly slow bordering on non-existent and then somehow also too fast. The FMC off the bat is telling herself she doesn’t want to start anything with the MMC when he hasn’t actually shown any interest. She said more than once that she didn’t want to someone who “built before the girl and not with the girl” but at the point in the story he hadn’t said he wanted anything with her! Then all of a sudden they’re in a long distance relationship. It felt very off to me.
Overall the whole story really lacked any emotional weight and I could not connect with any of the characters. I ended up calling it quits at about 70%.
Also not the point but bringing casseroles on a picnic is crazy.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advance copy of this book.
So cute! Despite not being someone who really enjoys clean romance, I did find this book entertaining enough. (Don't threaten me with a cowboy romance/good time!) A cute grumpy/sunshine story, but I do wish we'd had the MMC's point of view.
I would recommend for anyone who likes a clean romance and enjoys a twist on the cowboy romance!

I am totally in my cowboy romance era, and this one was so fun!
I enjoyed guessing how the song at the beginning of most chapters would tie in to that chapter. I also enjoyed the Colorado scenery and cowboy culture.
Thank you to Waitlyn Andrews and @NetGalley for this gifted eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Who is going to love it? Those who love ….
🤠 HORSES, RODEO, and RANCH LIFE!

❤️ Low-Spice Romance

This was such a cute and endearing book. I haven't read a cowboy romance and plan on reading more in the near future. I loved the found family, the love, encouragement, patience, and the slow burn. Kissing is the spiciest it goes (if that matters to you).
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After writing several successful books, Amelia decides to step into a new genre—but there’s one problem. Her manuscript keeps getting rejected, and the only way to fix it is by experiencing the setting firsthand. That’s how she ends up in Colorado, living with rodeo royalty to research cowboy life. The only downside? She constantly clashes with the grumpiest cowboy around. As the summer unfolds, their tension turns into something more, but keeping things professional proves to be a challenge—especially when alcohol is involved.
This book is packed with classic romance clichés, which I always enjoy. The dynamic between the main characters is entertaining, and their banter keeps the story fun. I also loved how the author captured cowboy culture in such a real and detailed way—it made the setting feel so authentic. However, I was expecting some spice, and the lack of it left me a little disappointed.
One thing I really missed was Eric’s point of view. It would have been great to get inside his head and understand his thoughts and feelings more. Despite that, the story was engaging, and the slow-burn romance kept me hooked. Overall, it was a fun read, and I’d love to see more from these characters!

This cowboy novel was an introduction to the author. I thoroughly enjoyed the family dynamic! The MC's grabbed me by the heart, and I held on for the ride! I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

Oh my goodness this was so much fun. This was such a wholesome book! The lack of miscommunication and the directness of every character were so refreshing to read about and had me breathing a sigh of relief. I loved all the characters! Especially Dean, my love, you’ll always be famous to me <3
As someone who lives in Texas but is not in the country, I really appreciated the educational aspect. As Amelia was learning more it really put things into place for me and helped me understand more deeply some of the surface-level experiences I’ve had in the past. I also really appreciated the dynamic between Eric and Amelia. The way they truly balanced each other out had me giggling. I felt like I was right in the middle of family dinners and riding horseback alongside them as they tackled everything. Overall I had a fantastic time and will be keeping an eye out for more books by this author! LOVE

This was a swoony cowboy romance that was super cute and made me smile. While it had no spice or made up for it in the connection building that it had. I also am a sucker for a grumpy MMC. I loved the way it was written well and enjoyable to read.

This was overall a nice read.
3.5/5 ⭐️
I appreciated the authors writing style and I think there’s is a lot of potential in this world and in this story.
I’m a sucker for a story with writers, I love a good grumpy cowboy with a heart of gold, I loved the representation of women supporting women and healthy female friendships, and I love the idea of a big-city woman finding home in a small town.

Rider’s Block was a fun, easy read that delivered exactly what I was looking for—cowboys, romance, and just the right amount of drama. It had all the charm of a small-town, western love story, with a hero you can’t help but swoon over and a heroine you’re rooting for. The banter was solid, the chemistry was there, and the setting made me want to book a trip to a ranch immediately.
That said, it wasn’t quite on the level of an Elsie Silver book for me. The romance was enjoyable, but it didn’t hit as deep, and some of the emotional beats felt a little rushed. I wanted a bit more build-up, a bit more angst—but that’s just personal preference. Even so, I still had a great time reading it.
If you love cowboy romances and need a quick, entertaining read, this one will definitely do the trick. It may not be a new favorite, but it absolutely scratched the itch!

Rider’s Block is a sweet, cozy small-town cowboy romance that delivers all the feel-good vibes. With a grumpy x sunshine dynamic, found family, and just the right amount of banter, it’s the perfect comfort read.
Amelia, a successful author, takes a summer trip from California to Colorado after her debut novel in a new genre flops. Determined to figure out where she went wrong, she immerses herself in small-town life, working on both her book and her own guarded heart.
Then there’s Eric—a no-nonsense cowboy with his sights set on his goals and no time for distractions. But of course, love has other plans.
The side characters were fantastic, and I’d love to see each of the Randall boys get their own book (seriously, I’d swoon). With its closed-door romance and lighthearted charm, Rider’s Block is a solid 4-star read with a 0.5 chili rating—low heat but full of heart!

Huge thank you to NetGalley for an E-ARC of this book!
I am a lover of all things cowboy romance so I was excited to jump into Riders Block! From reading the description this book ticked all of my usual boxes. A somewhat grumpy cowboy and a FMC who is feeling kind of lost. Whether it be in life or in this case, career, but still determined to get things done. With that being said I do think that the overall plot and some of the writing fell a little short for me in places so my interest wasn’t maintained throughout the entirety of the book.
I do think this book is perfect for those who are looking to get a start with cowboy romances! The plot is easy to follow and the characters are enjoyable!

This was a sweet cowboy romance story! Although it did feel like I was reading a romcom too! I really enjoyed reading this story! Amelia "Mia" is an author down on her luck as her latest novel has been rejected by 14 publishers. Her agent tries to convince Mia to take a trip to Colorado to do some research for her book! It turns out one of her friends has family living in Colorado who own a ranch and Mia gets invited to spend the summer there. That is where she meets Eric, the grumpy cowboy! I loved the grumpy and sunshine trope in this book! Also there were lots of found family moments. We get introduced to Eric's siblings and the side characters were great too. It was a slow burn romance but it was worth it following along these two characters fall in love.
Thank you Waitlyn Andrews and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Good text pacing 10/10. was given the opportunity to give an ARC review. I would recommend this novel to others as it portrayed the cowboy fiction text quite eloquently.
If you are a fan of cowboy romance this my be your jam, as it explores the journey of a cowboy and a girl from the city. I admire how the author integrated aspects from their own experiences into the story.

A super cute slow-burn romance, but the story was both about falling in love and learning to let your guard down and allowing yourself to be loved. Amelia goes to Colorado for the summer to learn about the cowboy life because her newest novel has been rejected over and over and the main complaint is that she writes like she's never been there. Amelia's stay at the family ranch exposes you to the small town, the amazing ranch family and a journey to emotional healing for both main characters.

I absolutely loved Rider’s Block by Waitlyn Andrews! This book had everything I look for in a cowboy romance—humor, heart, and a setting so vivid it felt like I was right there on the ranch. The story follows Amelia Greene, a successful author struggling with writer’s block. To break through it, she heads to a Colorado ranch for three months of hands-on research. What she doesn’t expect is Eric Randall, a gruff, no-nonsense cowboy who wants nothing to do with her at first. Their slow-burn romance was everything—filled with tension, banter, and just the right amount of sweetness.
I also loved the way Andrews brought the ranch and its community to life. The side characters were so well-developed, making the world feel rich and real. While some parts of the plot were a little predictable, I didn’t mind at all because the characters and their relationships were so engaging.
Overall, Rider’s Block was a charming, heartfelt read that had me hooked from start to finish. If you love contemporary romance with a cowboy twist, I highly recommend it. I’m giving it 4.75 stars—so close to perfect!

Could not finish. DNFed @15%. Sorry but it did not grab my attention like i thought it would. I really just had to get through the first 15% as well.

As a fan of cowboy romances, this was a book I really enjoyed. It was a very quick and cute read. The book incorporated some of my favorite tropes, like slow-burn romance, found family, and the grumpy x sunshine trope. I loved reading about the evolving relationship between Eric and Amelia. Their communication was great, and watching them go from friends to lovers kept me hooked, and wanting to read more. While I adored the main characters and their story, I loved all of the side characters as well. The interactions between the main and side characters highlighted the found family aspect. I liked the inclusion of some of the side characters’ stories, like Dean and Penny. Overall, I loved this book and its characters, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys small-town cowboy romances.
