I read The Perfect Marriage about 4 months ago and gave it 3 stars. I struggled with the sloppy police procedures and unlikely-ness of many aspects. And, honestly, the ending reveal made me feel tricked, but this book addresses it all and makes me less salty. I think if I re-read TPM now I would appreciate it more because everything is addressed and comes together. TPM ending left me not trusting any of the characters this time around. I love Sarah’s mannerisms and demeanor! She’s not your typical damsel in distress cliche. This book has A LOT going on. It kept my attention and I was able to breeze through it within a couple days. Whether you loved TPM or felt meh about it, I highly recommend reading The Perfect Divorce!

Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. This review will be shared on NetGalley and Goodreads.

(4.75 stars) I’ve been a huge Jeneva Rose fan since 2022, so I was BEYOND ecstatic to win an ARC of The Perfect Divorce!

If there’s one thing about Jeneva, it’s that she is always going to keep you on the edge of your seat. I love her writing—it’s bingeable, fast-paced, and you’re going to think you have the plot twist figured out, but you don’t.

I am notorious for not being able to guess a plot twist. But with this book especially, there’s no way my brain could’ve guessed the entirety of the twist. This story has several moving parts that will have you questioning everything. When Jeneva finally revealed the answers to my burning questions, she left no stone unturned. She gave me an explanation for every little thing that happened, and damn…what an ending.

This book releases on April 15, 2025, and you don’t want to miss it—not only for the story, but also because Jeneva shares a crazy, deep, dark secret in the acknowledgements…

A great follow up to the forst book. We get to follow Sarah again as she maneuvers her way through life after the last events of the previous book! You definitely need to read the The Perfect Marriage first. If not, you will have some catching up to go om plots and characters.

Sarah Morgan is back .. 11 years after her first husband Adam is convicted of Kelly’s murder. New evidence turns up and Adam is posthumously exonerated and of course a law suit ensues. This time Sarah is in the process of separating from her husband, Bob, as he was unfaithful (a one night stand with Stacy). Bob is delaying the proceedings as he wants to reconcile, something which Sarah is not interested in. Curiously, Stacy dissapears, as does Bob’s hairdresser, Carissa. What has Bob been up to, or is the more important question what has Sarah been up to? A fun, clever, well written sequel to The Perfect Marriage.

The Perfect Divorce picks up 11 years after the ending of The Perfect Marriage. Adam has been dead and Sarah and Bob have lived happily married for years. However, trouble is brewing and the two have separated due to Bob's affair. In the midst of this separation and brutal custody battle, new evidence is brought forth in the Kelly Summer's case -- evidence that could upend Sarah's life. Knowing she can't trust Bob, and Bob knowing he can't trust Sarah, the two end up trying to be the first to best the other. What ensues is a fun game of cat and mouse that leaves the reader questioning how far one would go to protect their own skin.

Overall, I liked this book better than The Perfect Marriage. I enjoyed The Perfect Marriage for being a fun and enjoyable, light read. While this was also a light read, I feel like Jeneva Rose has grown in her ability as a writer and in her ability to weave a good story. This book is not perfect. In fact, there was a lot going on where I had to remember who was who and hang onto minor details to help the story come together. That said, it did take some twists and turns I didn't see coming and I liked the way things came together much better than the first book.

I have grown to enjoy Sarah. I love how cunning she is and how she always seems to be one step ahead. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who loved the first book because they are bound to love this one even more! Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the chance to read this book early in exchange for a review. I also was fortunate enough to meet Jeneva Rose at the Barnes and Noble Book Con and she was such a gem! I can't wait to read more of her work!

This is such a fun book. I love just turning my mind off and enjoying the ride. Taking notes was a must, for me, because there were a lot of characters and things happening that I felt I needed to keep straight. I found myself rooting for absolutely nobody in this book. Not sure if that was intentional by the author or not. Most of these characters have their own unlikable qualities that I’d honestly be fine with any of them coming out on top.

I loved this book! Jeneva Rose has yet to disappoint. She can write twists like no other authors I've read. I definitely look forward to all other books JR comes out with!

The Perfect Marriage was my all time favorite book, so I was so thankful to receive an ARC of this book.

Geneva Rose has delivered another entertaining read, and I zipped through it in a single afternoon. The wit and snappy dialogue that made her first book so enjoyable are definitely present here. I found myself chuckling at several points, and the characters, while perhaps a bit archetypal, were engaging enough to keep me invested.

However, I couldn't help but feel a slight sense of disappointment compared to her previous work. While the first book had me on the edge of my seat with its twists and turns, The Perfect Divorce felt far more predictable. The plot unfolded rather linearly, and I guessed most of the major reveals well in advance. It lacked the gripping suspense that made the first book so memorable.

Still, if you're looking for a light, breezy, and entertaining read to pass the time, The Perfect Divorce certainly delivers. Just don't expect the same level of nail-biting suspense as before. It's an enjoyable, albeit less impactful, follow-up.

Whew! What a turn of events; my mind is still reeling. Sarah Morgan has to be one of my favorite characters in a book to date.

We enter Sarah’s life just over a decade after The Perfect Marriage ended, and she is just as legendary as ever. Familiar characters return, as well as some new individuals that make the story that much more exciting.

My favorite kind of thriller is one that has me guessing the entire time. Something I’ve noticed with Jeneva’s writing is that when I think I’ve figured it all out, something happens to show me that I can still be caught off guard. Twist after twist!

I highly suggest reading The Perfect Marriage prior to starting The Perfect Divorce! It makes it feel like you never left the plot, and the immersion is truly just SO GOOD.

As with the previous book, The Perfect Divorce had me guessing until the last page. Can you be in love with a book like this? I think I am.

Thank you to Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC, and to Jeneva Rose for being a fantastic writer: I will keep coming back for more!

The Perfect Divorce is a fun and thrilling sequel to The Perfect Marriage that delivers in spades. Jeneva Rose crafts a fun and tropey thriller that escalates further than the original somehow. Rose is at her best with these thrillers and is in the same vein as Frieda McFadden with wild and fun mystery and thriller stories

4/5 stars

I would recommend reading the first book in this series first – this one is the second. For this sequel, the perfect divorce was a better read than the perfect marriage, in my opinion. The twists and turns kept me guessing what was going to happen next. Every time I thought I had figured it out – I did not. Sarah Morgan sure is sneaky and not one to mess with. You just never know what she may do next!

Excited to see what else there is to come with Sarah Morgan in Perfect #3.

Thank you, NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing, for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book!

Thank you to Blackstone Publishing & Jeneva Rose for allowing me to review this arc. This is my opinion and not influenced by anything but the reading of this book.

I did have to read the 1st book before reviewing just to make sure I knew the full story, and I’m so glad I took the plunge of discovering this book. Oh my.

I will start by saying 2 things personally hooked me. One, Sarah Morgan is my in real life best friend’s name AND my dream job is a criminal defense attorney. So, that said, both books instantly hooked me.

Jeneva Rose is a master writer. As an ADHD reader, generally when I’m reading, books become EXTREMELY predictable. So I usually know exactly where the author is going. With Sarah and Bob’s story, I was along for the ride with a dozen speculations of what was going to happen and of course Ms Rose surprised me that I was left absolutely stunned. It’s rare that I truly enjoy and get captivated by a book that boggles my mind. This book was 100% an awesome mystery, thriller where I enjoyed every page, twist & turn. And Sarah Morgan’s character is one that we all want to love to hate but somehow we just can’t.

The world building, the characters, the plot twists, and even the absurdity of it all was 100% a pleasure. And even as I was stunned with the book’s end, I was so sad that the ride was over. It’s like the best rollercoaster ride you’ve ever ridden, especially if you’ve ever been on one like Great Adventure’s indoor pitch black where you haven’t a clue what’s ahead, you’re just gasping, yelling, throwing your hands in the air and wondering “what the heck did I just experience?!” Yeah… that’s this book & im sad I hadn’t discovered her sooner, but now I am definitely one of her 900K IG FOLLOWERS! She’s made a fan for life!

Read this book & enjoy your own adventure! I 100% recommend this 5⭐️ mystery thriller!

I loved the first book, The Perfect Marriage, so could not wait to get my hands on the sequel. I was into it from page one. This boo does not disappoint. I think it might even be better than the first one.

wow wow wow! I absolutely love Jeneva's work - loved the first installation of this series and this one was just as good!

The Perfect Divorce is the sequel to the Perfect Marriage and the book picks up about a year after the epilogue. It’s told from multiple POVs and you can’t help but love and hate some of the characters. The chapters are short and the pacing is great. There’s deception, secrets, lies, and so many twists and turns. The book was entertaining and suspenseful and I enjoyed seeing all the pieces come together at the end. Jeneva is an amazing storyteller and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

Well holy hot damn Jeneva!

This book is IT! If you thought The Perfect Marriage was a ride — well, you better buckle up, because the twists keep twisting!

Some of them I was able to guess and figure out, but I also wasn’t quite sure where this was all leading to and she perfected it!

We follow Sarah and Bob just over a decade after Adam was executed. The disappearance of a woman — who had an affair with Bob — puts Sarah and Bob in sight of the Prince William County Sheriff’s Office once again. Then there’s the former Sheriff, Ryan Stevens, who lands himself in a cell due to a DUI, and calls Sarah to be his attorney. This turn of events raises questions about the past, bringing to light key evidence that was not brought to Adam’s trial and therefore reopens the case of Kelly Summers aka Jenna Way.

The heat is on as Sarah files for divorce and Bob doesn’t want to suffer the same fate as Adam. There is no mercy between these two as they try to protect themselves and outdo one another in this very suspenseful cat and mouse game where the stakes are high and their lives depend on it — literally!

This is one you don’t want to miss! Jeneva wanted to escape the sequel curse and in my opinion, she succeeded! There’s so much more to the story here, and as much as I loved The Perfect Marriage (the first book of hers I read, which was in 2021 and have been following her since), this is currently my favorite of all her thrillers!

It releases 04/15/2025! I want to thank Mother Goose (Jeneva), Blackstone Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to receive one of the first 100 digital ARCs as one of her silly geese in exchange for an honest review!

3.5 stars. Cat and mouse mystery at it's funnest (not a work, I know, but it's true). I was surprised to learn The Perfect Marriage would have a sequel. But...can Bob and Sarah really be trusted with each other? This short mystery is full of double-crossing intrigue and I couldn't wait to get to the end and learn about all the twists. Rose doesn't write ambiguous endings and I'm grateful. And, there's gonna be another book!! Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC

There is something so captivating about Sarah Morgan as a main character. What an amazing sequel! Jeneva Rose has done it again! I loved reading this book. Thank you for the opportunity. This book was both cozy and kept me guessing what would happen next. I particularly loved how Jeneva's wittiness came through in her writing. I felt like I was in the story with Sarah, Bob, and the police crew. Can't wait to hear what happens next for Sarah! The Perfect Re-Marriage? The Perfect Next Marriage? I'm on the edge of my seat!
