I loved this book. It clearly presented how science works in a well-paced, conversational tone. I especially appreciated the discussions around homeopathy and around science hype. The book also explains the use of terms like quantum that make things that aren’t the least bit scientific sound scientific. Caulfield also takes aim at some of the weaknesses in how science is managed, aiming at funding agencies and the publication industry. He proposes action items to help people determine what is scientific and what is not in our current context. Whether the reader is new to science and will learn a lot of new stuff, or already understands science, his book will be a real treat for everyone. Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Random House Canada - Allen Lane for the advance reader copy.
