Charles Lattimore Howard was a university chaplain for many years. This book encompasses those experiences and what he learned from them. He quotes include many different religions, which is to be expected of a chaplain. The lessons Howard takes from these quotes were at times a contradiction to my Christian faith. However, they gave me a new perspective and for that I'm glad he included them. I think this book is aimed more toward young people just starting out, rather than someone who is middle aged like me. Which makes since for a university chaplain who advises and counsels young people on a daily basis. Though the book was not a perfect fit for me, it was well written. I liked the signpost at the end of each chapter, it gives the reader a chance to reflect on the content of the chapter as well as their own life.

The title was interesting but not 100% not everyone cup of tea. The author wrote succinctly and shared many beliefs.
