This is an easy read book - most enjoyable if you love cats and cakes this is a must read book - can’t wait for the next book to come out

Loved the idea of a cat cafe and with a competition and romance bubbling along, this makes for a good, easy read on a summer afternoon. Good characters (including the cats!), easy to follow story line with enough going onto hold interest.

This was such a delight to read. It's got all the cosy vibes - rescue cats, baking, and a bit of a cheeky rivalry that slowly turns into something more. Isla's a really warm, down to earth character and you can't help but root for her.
The setting is lovely and comforting and the slow burn romance has just the right amount of tension and charm. It's the kind of book that leaves you smiling - and maybe a bit hungry!

This book made me laugh, tear up, and think deeply-all while rooting hard for the characters.
It's more than a romcom; it's a brilliant, heartfelt story that stays with you.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The authors writing style had me hooked throughout this book.

I didn't want it to end, a book I really couldn't put down.

I always enjoy a light-hearted romance in between more serious reads, and this one ticked all the boxes. Likeable characters with decent back-stories and a large helping of cats and cake! The story was well-paced and kept me interested throughout. I was rooting for our leading lady and gent to overcome their respective obstacles and get together for a happy ending.
My only criticism is the setting - the book is set in the Lake District, an area I have visited several times and love. I didn't get any real sense that the events were taking place there, it could have been anywhere.I think I would have preferred if it were set in a fictional town popular with hikers, rather than one that actually exists in reality.
However, apart from that it was a fun read and I would recommend it to anybody who enjoys this genre.

Cozy and easy to read, Cake Off at the Cat Cafe follows a quietly ambitious, yet highly anxious protagonist who enters a baking contest. Clem is undoubtedly sweet, endlessly kind, and relatable for anyone who's been horribly wronged by a loved one. Lucas' background is just as likeable, as he simply wants to find a way to support his family and be a rock for his father. His job being at the dog cafe is just icing on the cake.

The plot was as expected, with its mix of sugary romance and mild tensions, and everything about the story wrapped up nicely. I wish I saw more of the cat cafe, because how cute? (And there's an actual cafe with that name!) It was a bit hard to believe that some points of conflict were happening between adults—namely with Clem's former friend, who gave off such strong high school mean girl vibes, but I suppose people like that do exist in real life.

Overall, cute book, and a nice and warm read for the spring season.

Cake Off At The Cat Cafe, written by Rachel Rowlands, is the second in the series of the Cat Cafe Romance. This particular book centres around the character Clem, a reserved and anxious person, who works in the Cat Cafe as a baker. When entering a baking competition, she meets a handsome baker called Lucas. As the story unfolds, we follow their journey through the competition, finding love. Cake Off At The Cat Cafe is an easy to read romance, great for those autumnal evenings.

Another visit to the Cat cafe where Clem who’s in charge of baking the delicious goodies at the cat cafe is thrown out of comfort zone to enter the tv baking competition Whisked Away. Can she win to fulfil all her dreams and maybe find some happiness at the same time. A lovely read that makes you want a delectable bake while you read

I really enjoyed “Snowed in at the Cat Cafe” so I was thrilled to see this book. And it didn’t disappoint! Great characters and fun settings and I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend

Such a cute and cosy read overall, I found it easy to read and I read it quickly as it was easy to sit back and absorb.

A nice, gentle romance. Clem is a wonderful baker making the feline based treats at the Cat Cafe- Catpurrcino. Lucas and his friend own Muddy Paws, a nearby dog themed cafe. Both are chosen to take part in Whisked Away, a Bake off competition. Clem is painfully shy having been publicly embarrassed as a student- she still hides away because of it. There is an immediate attraction between the two which occupies the social media surrounding the competition. Adventures ensue, the romance is on and off, and the competition heats up. A lovely supporting cast. I really enjoyed this story. #netgalley #cakeoffatthecatcafe

I wasn't aware that this was the second book in a series when I requested it from NetGalley, but it made not a jot of difference to my reading experience. The story read completely independently of anything that came before it.

Both Clem and Lucas were adorable characters that I fell in love with quite quickly. Their stories were incredibly real and relatable - I particularly connected with Clem's anxiety battle and Lucas's personal responsibility struggle as he cared for his aging, ailing parents. As invididual characters they were wonderful, but I really bought in to their chemistry together.

It was a very easy and cosy read, absolutely helped by the Bake Off-type feel to the competition element of the story. There was enough tension to keep the pace feeling fresh, but the story never felt heavy or stressful.

I'm now curious to read the other book in the series, so I may have to go pick it up.

This was such a fun and gorgeous second instalment to the Cat Cafe series - I really loved Clem and saw a lot of myself in her, she was a very relatable character and you only wanted the best for her. Lucas was also a really lovely character who put everyone before himself, which can definitely be a pro and con. I enjoyed the great british bake-off aspect of the plot, it was fun going through all the different stages of the competition and how Lucas and Clem's chemistry blossomed because of it. The drama aspect of the plot was also very intriguing and made for a satisfying ending.

What's not to like about a cat cafe combined with the Great British Bake Off.

Clem works as a baker at Catpurrcino, creating all sorts of cat themed deliciousness for the customers to eat. Clem has worked hard to where she is now, albeit dealing with anxiety and a sudden change of direction in her past.
When she and her boss Sylvie are contestants in the Whisk Away baking competetion, Clem is pushed out of her comfort zone.
Lucas is another contestant in the Wisk Away baking competetion with his good friend Dwayne, thogether they run Muddy Paws Cafe.

The Whisk Away competition is a chance for both Clem and Lucas to shine. Will Clem find her inner strength and confidence and will Lucas find a way to help his parents?

I absolutlely adored this second book in the Catpurrcino cat cafe series, but this could easily be read as a stand alone. Clem is such a wonderful person, thoughtful and kind. And I was rooting for her throughout the competetion, such a clever baker! A purrfect cosy cat themed read, very enjoyable and heartwearming!

Good overall. Enjoyed the cats and dogs theme. Also, liked the baking element. I found myself getting a bit irritated by the female lead though. At times I wanted her to just pull herself together. I have anxiety, so I'm not being unsympathetic. Perhaps anxiety is not all that easy to write about. Perhaps the author needed to spend a bit more time writing about the past trauma. This was the second of the series set in Catpurrcino - and what’s not to love in a cat cafe. It’s purrfectly possible to read this as a stand-alone but I recommend reading the whole series.

I shall leave the kitty puns now - this is a cosy read but also in a way, reflective

It provides an ideal opportunity to shown that actions - whenever they happen can have repercussions many years later. This centres around Clem, badly treated by a so-called friend at University - such that her actions have affected Clem into adulthood and left crippling anxiety.
Add to this unrequited love and an unexpected coincidence and this turns into a love story and ultimately redemption.
So it’s Clem for team cat and Lucas for team dog.

Add in a Bake Off style cookery competition and cat-versus-dog - and this makes for a fun read

It’s well written with just enough intrigue to make page turning essential - it’s been a just one more chapter/page book.
