Tansy Perkins has fought for everything she has, and she's proud to be an independent single mother. When a hurricane destroys her house and the library she works at, she'll have to learn that asking for help isn't such a bad thing, especially when it comes in the form of grouchy plant lover Jack Reid.

I say this with the utmost love. This is a popcorn romance with little bits of spice and conflict sprinkled in to keep things interesting. The stakes feel big, but there's something about the way it's written that feels comforting even as Tansy is freaking out about living in a shell of a house with her daughter. There's a feeling of support and understanding throughout that I really appreciated. It makes the romance that starts to bloom between two apparently disparate characters feel extra sweet when they're both supportive.

Very happy thanks to NetGalley and G.P. Putnam's Sons for the thoughtful romance read!
