Margot is an assistant to a literary agent and fixated on having her own meet-cute like in her favorite books *and* like everyone else she knows (including her perfect social media influencer big sister). Oliver is the guy Margot constantly matches with on dating apps after a semi-disastrous date a few years earlier. Will Margot keep looking for love in all the wrong places, or will her friendship with Oliver lead her to her own HEA? I liked this book and found it to be a comforting and satisfying read with nice amounts of humor and very relatable main characters. I really liked the concept of a true second chance at getting to know the right person, and also understanding that you can still have a really great meet-cute on a dating app. This is a romance with an HEA so there's always some predictability, but I appreciated that there were still things I didn't see coming. I enjoyed watching Margot on her career journey, and also on her relationship journey with Oliver. I *loved* Oliver, who on paper seemed like the perfect MMC but he still had enough flaws to keep him interesting. I really enjoyed Margot's inner voice and her dialogue with others. Margot and Oliver matched well together, especially once they each got out of their own way. One note: there was one ongoing plot point that took me by surprise since it wasn't in the book description (and is actually one of my personal icks when choosing my rom-coms), and had I known it was part of the plot I would likely have avoided this book. But since it's a pretty common trope, I think most won't be bothered by it. And I was glad I kept reading because this turned out to be a great read overall! Kasie West is a new-to-me author who's making her adult writing debut with this book, and I'm excited to read whatever she comes up with next! Publishes September 16, 2025.
