Lynn Hightower has a strong writing style and was glad I read this. This was a strong sequel in the Junie Largarde series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from the previous book. The overall storyline worked well and was glad I got to read this. The characters were everything that I was hoping for and enjoyed about the first book. It uses the element perfectly and enjoyed the way the story was told in this type of book.

A lot in a slender volume. This is the action packed story of June, a hearing impaired woman, and her dog Leo who go after "Daddy," a bitcoin billionaire who is intent on developing and therefore destroying the area June calls home. It's a bit over the top but it's so fast paced that you'll keep turning the pages. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

"Spies in Plain Sight" by Lynn Hightower is a thrilling ride that kept me turning pages, but also left me with some mixed feelings.
I really enjoyed the fast-paced action and how the story blended mystery, suspense, and a bit of politics. The setting in Annecy, France, felt real, and I loved how the author brought the city and its people to life.
Junie, the main character, was brave and determined, and I felt for her as she fought to protect her team and uncover the truth. I also liked her relationship with Philippe, which added some warmth to the story. Not to mention the true her of the story Leo, her German Shepherd.
However, there were parts that felt a little slow or confusing, especially when the story got too deep into technical details. At times, I had trouble keeping up with who was on which side.
Still, the twists and turns kept me guessing, and the ending beat was great! This book is perfect for readers who enjoy action-packed mysteries with strong female leads.
Overall, I liked the book, even if I didn’t love every part of it. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fast-paced thrillers with a bit of heart.
