My favorite suspense book this year! The beginning of the book you can begin to see the odd relationship between Miles and Vivienne, BUT I WAS NOT EXPECTING THE TURNS TO FOLLOW!!! I think we after we read a few suspense books you can spot the upcoming plot twists, while I did see a few they were not the most jarring ones. By the end of the book, I really did not know which way the author would take the ending, but I was pleasantly surprised with the choice.
Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys suspense. It was a easy read and I finished within two days.
Thank you T.J. Emerson, Boldwood Books, and Netgalley for the eARC. I look forward to more books by this author!

** spoiler alert ** 3.5⭐! I have mixed feelings on this book. While I did feel that there were a lot of unexpected twists and turns, I thought the beginning dragged a little. I also thought the relationship between the two cousins was definitely strange and slightly uncomfortable. I did enjoy the twist at the end and thought it was wrapped up nicely.
Thank you to Boldwood Books & NetGalley for the early access!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for my Advanced Copy. All ideas in this review are my own. I really wanted to love this one but it was just alright for me. None of the characters were likeable and the entire plot line is wrapped in secrets and lies. While they were supposedly under the guise of protecting loved ones, they seemed to be excuses for unacceptable behavior. The plot had the potential to be very good but it got rather long winded and sludge through the middle. In the end, it fell flat. It was not bad and was worth the read but overall not my favorite.

I was unsure of this book but I really ended up enjoying it. I think the writing was pretty good as well.

This is an exciting thriller with lots of plot twists. It definitely had my attention and I wanted to find out what how it ended. Leah is out to live the ultimate life of luxury and will do whatever it takes to get it. Money, lies, fake love, and deception - what more could you want out of a book?!?!!! :)
Thank you Net Galley and publisher for the advanced eARC copy of this book!

Leah thinks she's hit the jackpot when she meets Miles. When he takes her to his French chateau, she knows this is the life she wants. So what if his previous wife died and the circumstances were questionable. Miles surely had nothing to do with it....right?
Oh goodness, domestic thrillers really are such fun aren't they? Just when you think you have a read on a character, they turn around and surprise you and not always for the good! I can't say I liked any of these characters, however the storyline is clever and with all those twists, I thoroughly enjoyed the wild ride.

Leah Williams is a young woman in her 20’s and she is haunted by her past and the actions of her parents. Leah has her eye on the finer things in life and she is determined to create a life for herself with comfort and security for no matter what it may take to get her there. Leah soon gets into a relationship with Miles Sinclair, 30 years her senior, who lost his wife to a accident of falling off a roof, he whisks her off to his family home in Chateau Clairvallon in France for a short vacation, and then soon proposes to her there. Leah believes that finally she will have the life she was born to. The life she lost after her dad squandered her mom’s inheritance and deserted them.
Leah is thrilled beyond measure.
Though she does not love Miles, she is looking forward to the wealth that will soon be hers. What happens next leaves you wondering whose playing who?

Thank you NetGalley! I was curious about the plot if this book. It definitely did not go in the direction I was thinking it would. It pleasantly surprised me. I throughly enjoyed it

leah has always craved the finer things in life. luxury, stability, security. who wouldn't, especially after a rocky past. when a wealthy widower falls into her path, it feels like the perfect setup for the life she has always envisioned. but then comes the lingering question. what really happened to his last wife. what is the twist waiting to unfold.
i love a good thriller with secrets, power, and money at play, and this one delivered on that front. but i never felt fully attached to the characters, which made it harder to be completely immersed. still, the pacing and structure kept me hooked and it was a fun ride overall.
thanks netgalley for the arc!!!

I was interested in The Last Mrs Sinclair because of the title though familiar at first this book takes a different turn that will have you wanting more. If you like slow-burn, well written & captivating storylines with multiple pov, twists that you won't see coming and interesting untrustworthy characters then you will love The Last Mrs Sinclair by T.J. Emerson.

Leah is looking for a rich man so she can be set for life. She finds that one night while at a bar where she meets rich, widowed businessman Miles Sinclair. With less than a month of dating, Miles whisks Leah to his French chateau, Chateau Clairvallon. It is here that she meets his cousin Vivienne and starts to imagine herself living this luxurious life. A few days into their trip to the Chateau Miles proposes to Leah and a wedding is in the works. What should be an exciting time for Leah, soon becomes a nightmare as suspicions arise and secrets emerge.
The book started off interesting enough, but soon began to slow down. I felt the middle dragged and was repetitive. About the 80% mark it begans to pick up again, but I felt it was just going in every direction in order to make shocking twists. This was the kind of book that I put down and didn’t have a rush to pick it up again. I did like the overall message of the book at the end and thought it wrapped up well, but it was hard for me to get through and I felt it had more potential.

The writing style immediately captivated and kept me reading from page one! A well thought out plot with intriguing characters made for a thrilling read. No spoilers here! Thank you to the author and publisher for the advanced copy.

Leah Williams grew up with money, until she didn't. Events in her childhood taught her what it was like to live with the "haves" until things changed drastically and she had to endure being part of the "have nots." All this did was made her realize she was destined to live a luxurious life and would do whatever she needed to do in order to get there. She doesn't seem to be bound by a strong sense of ethics, but she does decide to never get involved with a married man again.
This lead her to meeting Miles Sinclair in a bar where he's crying into his champagne over the anniversary of his wife's death, and Leah intertwines herself into his life. Before long, Miles invites her to his French Chateau for a vacation. Come to find out, his cousin is staying there acting as the housekeeper in an effort to keep herself busy following the loss of her husband. And as she starts to spend more time there, she realizes that Miles' former wife died there at the chateau!
The more she learns of the chateau's history, the family's past and about Mrs. Sinclair's death, the more she realizes that things don't really add up. The author does a fantastic job in keeping the reader guessing and relating well to Leah especially. I had to force myself to put the book down and get some sleep! Well done!
Thanks to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and T.J. Emerson for the eARC.

I enjoyed this domestic thriller with twist after twist! I was as very anxious to figure out exactly what was happening and then another surprise would turn up.
Leah is playing a game in her attempt to marry Miles after the death of his previous wife. Little does she know she is being played also!
Thank you net Galley and publisher for the advanced eARC copy of this book!

The characters in this thriller are richly developed, each with their own dark secrets that slowly unravel throughout the narrative. Their inner turmoil and conflicting motivations add depth to the story, while the secondary characters—especially the seemingly perfect spouse—provide a sense of unease and tension. The interactions between the characters feel authentic, and their personal flaws make them all the more intriguing.

thank you net galley for this arc been a little sick so my reviews kinda late. but overall i really enjoyed the story.it's very thought provoking. leah willimams is struggling with her identity and her past.

Surprisingly solid with tight writing. I must admit that reading the synopsis, I expected to read your run-of-the-mill mystery thriller. Well, The Last Mrs. Sinclair is more than that, but it might not to your liking.
First of all, we have the mystery: Leah is warned not to marry Miles Sinclair due to his previous wife sudden accidental death. Then we have the main character which is Leah herself. I like her a lot than what I thought. She has a strong principle and while her way of living could be annoying to some, to the end she still uphold that kinda principle.
What might make people put it down is the length of the book. It wasn't until some % on my kindle that 'oh we got something', but I checked it would be 378 pages in total for printed edition! That's a lot even for me. Luckily, for me, it has a weird grip and flow that made me care for the characters. For others, might not so much.
The genre itself bordering on contemporary drama with all the dramas involving the characters lol I barely felt the thrill, but again, I weirdly like it.
The epilogue might also could be a let down for other readers. It certainly... something to get that kinda POV. What is told there, I knew it during the climax, but OK, I'll take it I guess. Hence, the three stars.
However, TJ Emerson had entice me with this one book I might be checking in her other books and see if anything take my fancy.

Thank you boldwood books, Netgalley, & T.J Emerson for this arc. This book had several twists & turns. It kept me engaged & wanting to finish it. This is a good read!

Thank you Netgalley for the advanced reader copy.
I enjoyed the Last Mrs Sinclair and the ending I didn't see coming.

An utterly compulsive read! I flew through this novel since I couldn't put it down. I will be purchasing a physical copy for my library!
