I haven't read the previous edition, so I can't say if anything changed for the better or worse. I really enjoyed the book, and the author's commentary throughout was very interesting.

Hades and Megara have a ten-year relationship that's experiencing some difficulties. Hades wants revenge on Zeus and thinks it's a good idea to use Hercules (Zeus's son) to achieve it. He didn't expect him and Meg to fall in love with Hercules.

One of the tropes is marriage in trouble, and I thought the author developed this very well. The development of Meg and Hades's relationship with Hercules was very natural, even though it was extremely quick. It didn't feel forced.

Hades is an antihero, a horrible person, so expect him to behave like horrible people.

I really liked how the author explored fetishes and BDSM without making them "taboo." Everything was addressed in the story in a very natural way.

It made me very curious to read the other books in this series (and continue reading Neon Gods).

This book was pure villain smut, and I mean that in the best way possible. Hades, Meg, and Hercules are a mess in the most delicious, dramatic, emotionally repressed way, and I ate up every second of it. The power dynamics? Immaculate. The angst? So spicy it could probably be bottled and sold as a torture kink. The actual spice? Unhinged. I felt like I needed a glass of water, a nap, and maybe a moral compass, but I loved it.

What really hit was how emotionally charged the scenes were. There’s degradation, praise, submission, control, and all of it laced with the kind of tension that makes you want to scream into a pillow. But it never feels exploitative. Everyone has agency, even when they’re literally on their knees. And the emotional unraveling? Chef’s kiss. Meg is an absolute bratty goddess, Hades is manipulative in the most terrifyingly sexy way, and Hercules is the golden retriever dropped into the Underworld and told to fetch…..while wearing a collar.

If you like books where no one’s really a hero, consent is treated like the holy grail, and the sex scenes double as therapy… yeah, this one delivers. And then some.

Sadly, this wasn't for me. I think I might have to avoid this author in the future because her books just don't do it for me. The writing is extremely simple, and the relationships are superficial and boring. While I kind of liked Meg in the first book, this book just made me irritated with her and Hades.

The books mainly revolve around the smut and don't have a plot. Any plot points the stories do have are expected and boring.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me this ARC in exchange of an honest review.

I read this book first in 2023 and absolutely loved it and now after rereading it I just fell in love with the characters even more. I absolutely adore Mg, Hades and Hercules!!! Katee is such a queen and she did the polyamorous relationship sooo good!!! I was even more surprised to see every little note that Katee wrote about her thoughts while writing this book, it was so good and interesting to read!

Can't wait to reread the other books in the series too!

Didn't work for me, but will appeal to others.

I read 30% of Learn My Lesson before ultimately deciding to set it aside. The premise intrigued me, a dark, why choose story set in mythology, but the execution didn’t fully capture my interest. While the writing style was accessible and clear, I struggled to connect with the characters and found the pacing oddly slow and fast at the same time.

That said, fans of steamy, villain-centric romance with a heavy dose of emotional drama may find more to enjoy. It simply wasn’t the right fit for me at the moment.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read

I don’t care what Katee Robert writes. I will always read whatever she writes. Katee Robert knows how to write fantastic yet addicting spicy romance books with queer representation. I am never disappointed whenever I read her books. It’s so freaking good. And Learn My Lesson isn’t any different.

If you aren’t into spicy romance books, then this book isn’t for you. Trust me, the spicy is way too hot for anyone who doesn’t like to read about spicy romance books. If you love reading any spicy romance books, then you will love reading Learn My Lesson.

Learn My Lesson brings the old Hades, aka Hades's father (in the Dark Olympus series), back into action when he starts a deadly game with Megaera and Hercules. And I just love reading Why Choose tropes because why should anyone choose when you start falling for all of them? It’s the best trope to read in dark romance or spicy romance books. It does get better whenever they all try to bring tension or drama into the mix. True feeling comes out.

This was a really fun time. Katee Robert can do no wrong. This series is so good so far. She writes such a variety of stories and all of them unique

Katee Robert has done it again!! I adored the OG series and somehow I love this updated version even more. Balancing a triad is incredibly hard to do, especially when two members have an established relationship but Katee Robert handles it masterfully in Learn My Lesson. All of the characters have complex needs and feelings and watching them find a way to a fulfilling partnership was nothing less than swoony. If you're interested in some kinky sex and lots of feelings then this is the book for you.

Loved reading the wonderfully written story. After Hades has Meg spend a passionate night with Hercules, Hercules makes a deal with Hades to free Meg, but Meg doesn't want to be free. Read the highly recommended and must read riveting story.

The spice was spicing in this one, y'all.
This book was a fun time with no real plot, if I'm honest.
I would never have guessed how much i would like Hades and Meg and Hercules together but this definitely surprised me!
I can definitely see myself reading more from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the arc.

In many ways, the dark, grungy world filled with BDSM and intrigue that Hades, Hercules and Meg(ara) inhabit feels very similar to that of Kit Rocha’s “Beyond” series. A little bit less with the post apocalyptica and more Zeus being an asshole, though, which I like. It’s a good vibe.

This novel is actually the second novel in the Wicked Villains series, but it's the first with a polyamorous relationship in the lead so, of course, this is where I started. This version is the annotated version the author is rereleasing and includes four stories relating to this triad at the end, at least two of them I would say contain spoilers for the rest of the books if this is your first delve into this world.

Meg is chronically unable to communicate. She is a bad communicator. I mean, the same is true of Hades, but Hades comes across as more being mindful of what he's choosing to say. Meg comes across as letting her fear direct her silence. Which made her the least comfortable character for chapters to be read from.

Don't get me wrong, I know other people for whom Meg was a favourite character! She just didn't work for me. This wasn't helped by the description of the degeneration of the 'marriage in trouble' between her and Hades in the first chapter being so bad that I wanted to put the book down.

It wasn't until my favourite sunny himbo, Hercules, came onto the scene in his own chapter that this book was saved for me. (And then I subsequently loved Hades' chapter and the whole book was in full motion).

Obviously, as this is erotica first, plot is limited, but this polyamorous twist on the marriage in trouble trope was quite endearing because it had a man who came into the mix and prompted conversation where both the anchor partners had become very closed mouth. Additionally, all relationships between the three people came out satisfyingly and convincingly, which is the most important thing in any polyamorous romance.

I will say though, the very brief showing of Zeus in person towards the end of this book just made me wanna jump ship straight over to the Dark Olympus books and see if there's anymore of this delicious and devious political drama to drink up there.

Learn My Lesson is a wickedly addictive descent into lust, power, and betrayal. From the first page, it pulls you into a world where nothing is as it seems, and every desire comes with a cost. The narrator’s obsession with Megaera is palpable—dangerous, raw, and utterly captivating. What begins as a daring rescue mission quickly unravels into something far more twisted: a seductive trap spun by none other than Hades and his willing Queen.

The chemistry crackles between all three characters, blurring the lines between hate and hunger, freedom and captivity. Megaera is no damsel—she’s ruthless, alluring, and every bit the match for Hades’s dark charm. Together, they rule their realm with an intoxicating mix of cruelty and seduction.

The story is fast-paced, with sharp dialogue, searing tension, and betrayals that keep you guessing. It’s a tale of temptation and power, where love is a weapon and every choice has consequences.

If you're looking for a dark, seductive fantasy that will leave you breathless, this one doesn’t disappoint. Just be warned—you may not want to escape either.

The deluxe edition of Learn My Lesson was a spicy, wild ride from start to finish with really interesting character inspirations including Hercules & Hades.

The dynamic between the three main characters was really unique & heartfelt, and there are many likeable side characters throughout that kept the story flowing nicely (Tink is a personal favourite). I loved the authors annotations throughout this edition, it sort of makes you feel like you’re having a discussion with Katee Robert as you read it together.

Hades was at times a frustrating character, and the ending didn’t quite redeem him in a way that painted him as a likeable character for me. I also would’ve liked to see more plot, as this book is heavy on the spice side (though it is well done). Overall I thought it was a fun, easy read and I will for sure read any new editions of this series that come out in the future

Katee Roberts is somewhat of a hit or miss author for me but this book HIT. It is hard to write a polyamorous couple but she does it with grace. You get all the smut without compromising on plot.

Listen, if Katee Robert wrote it, I have got to read it. She does it again with the spice. Never to little and always just enough. If you're a fan of hers you will like this.

The luxe edition of Learn My Lesson is an absolute treat for fans of dark romance, mythology retellings, and immersive bonus content. This Hades-Meg-Hercules love triangle is already steamy, emotionally charged, and deliciously wicked—but this special edition takes the experience to a whole new level.

Katee Robert’s annotations throughout the book offer fascinating insights into the characters’ motivations and behind-the-scenes commentary that deepen the emotional layers of the story. The additional scenes are spicy, satisfying, and perfectly aligned with the characters’ arcs—especially if you can't get enough of the Underworld's morally gray power dynamics.

On top of that, the luxe edition includes a playful kink questionnaire, which adds a fun, interactive twist to the reading experience. And we can’t ignore the stunning artwork on the cover—rich, sensual, and a perfect match for the story’s darkly seductive tone. It’s the kind of edition that feels like a collector’s item, one you'll want to display as much as read.

Whether you're revisiting the Wicked Villains series or diving in for the first time, Learn My Lesson in this luxe edition is a decadent, immersive experience that fans of Katee Robert will adore.

This was a fun, VERY spicy read!

There is very little plot, with the entire focus being on the relationship and the spice, so this book is perfect if you want a quick and easy romance read.

Thank you for the ARC!

WOW! This book had it all....fun, steam, spice, humor and ummm more spice!! Great book, and I love the authors annotations. Made it even more enjoyable.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

It was all right, I was expecting a bit more though to be honest.
They went from not liking each other to love in the matter of pages. I missed the yearning and the build up.
Hades was a bit annoying as well.
Unfortunately I was not convinced by the relationship.
Otherwise it was an easy fun read.
