In the darkness of the night, as Trevor Worthington, Duke of Kenbridge, is traveling home, a dark figure darts out into his path.
Little does he realize, in that moment, his life will change forever. A young woman known as a thief and a beggar, is saved when the Duke of Kenbridge brings her into his home. Drawn to her green eyes and smile, he takes up the task of finding her true identity and how she ended up living on the streets. A complicated love story with several questions looking for answers. Kisses only.

This seventh book in Her Brooding Duke's series was an exceptionally captivating and well written historical romance. It was extremely exciting with so much drama, action, intrigue, mystery, kidnapping, lies, secrets, theft, an accident, amnesia, abusive situations, muder, and so many intense emotional feelings, situations, and plot twists rhat kept me very engaged and highly entertained. It was a heartwrenching yet also heartwarming story of pain, loss, hope, family, and love. It definitely reminded me of Oliver Twist, but in this story, there is a lovely romance that ends with a beautiful life. I highly recommend reading!

I enjoyed the story itself and the plot twists that occurred in particular however the story while humorous in parts seems much longer than it needs to be causing it to drag a bit for me. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A Delightful Historical Romance with Mystery and Suspense
She was dressed like a beggar but spoke like a lady—what was Louisa’s story? When Trevor nearly ran her over, he felt responsible for her. But with no memory of who she was, neither of them knew what to do next. Louisa struggled with household chores, yet she soon discovered her true calling, as her natural connection with Trevor’s child became evident.
As Trevor’s feelings for Louisa grew, he faced a dilemma—could he truly marry a woman of unknown origins? Could he let go of his deep-seated distrust and risk opening his heart to love? And when Louisa’s memories finally returned, what secrets would they reveal? Did they tell her full story, or was more still hidden?
This enchanting historical romance had me hooked from the start. With its perfect blend of mystery, suspense, treachery, and intrigue, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I highly recommend it to fans of historical romance and eagerly anticipate the author's next book!

In this historical romance our heroine has amnesia after an accident. Our hero might be responsible for her amnesia, but trying to find out why she has obviously been suffering beforehand is the real mystery.
An emotional and witty story with fabulous characters. There is also danger when the past is at last revealed.
Although this is part of a series, you can read it as a stand alone.
Good fun.

Amnesia and betrayal...

Louisa, once a young lady, is tricked into thinking everything she had is gone, is sold and worked as a thief for six years. Just when she's on the cusp of finding out of the truth of what happened to her family and fiancé that were supposedly killed in a fire six years ago, Trevor, a duke, hits her and runs her over. He takes her in and she only knows her name is Louisa . Trevor was once a trusting and happy man. A duke yes, but his wife's infidelity has left him wondering about his twins parentage. So, yes, he does not trust women. Its been a year since her death and he needs to find a new wife. But Louisa, a poor but beautiful waif needs his protection.
Its a clean read, but really well done with two people who have a lot of angst.
Recommend.

Having read previous books in this series, I was looking forward to this novel, but by comparison, I was disappointed. The plot did not hold my interest, and I found the main characters frustrating. However, the novel is a standalone and comes to a sweet conclusion. I received a copy of this romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This book gave me all the vibes I wanted when I looked at it. If you are a fan of Bridgerton you’ll love this story. The multiple POVs was a nice twist in these types of stories. Would recommend to anyone who loves historical romance.

A nice story of a young woman who is found by a Duke. She has amnesia and he is grieving over the lost of his wife. Overall, I enjoyed the plot. My rating is such because this story is one that is almost to close to another one I just read and that always causes me great concern. Secondly, the story while humorous in parts is way to long and dragged out. I'm a fan of this author, so my expectations are always higher than for someone I haven't read before. I will continue to read her works hoping to see her revert back to my expectations.

I was given the chance to read this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Louisa is a young woman who has to steal to survive. After being hit by Trevor and losing her memory, both characters try to discover Louisa's past.

This book is written in multiple perspectives. Having different perspectives helped develop the story in a way that the reader understands how the relationship builds. I really enjoyed this book. It was like a Cinderella tale but with a mystery.

A decent read of a girl with anenesia who recovers at a Dukes house and falls in love. Filled with romance, some intrigue, and funny moments, this was a fairly fast-paced book but a bit too long.

I keep confusing series with another one and requesting arcs. It’s really not my favourite series although I do see why people enjoy it. In this book both the leads are nice enough characters but the rags to riches / memory loss / evil grind tropes really aren’t my fav

2.5 ⭐️

This book was exactly as the cover suggested- a lighthearted romance that was cute and easy to read. The main characters fall in love quickly and there was more to the plot around the FMC getting her life back than the romance. I enjoyed it and would recommend to a friend.

There is never a dull moment in this engaging story. A Duke coming out of the yearlong mourning period for his wife hits a half-starved and threadbare woman with his horse knocking her unconscious. He takes her back to his house and calls for a doctor. It is discovered that her injuries are not serious but that she has lost her memory. It is obvious to both the Duke and his housekeeper that Louisa has been severely mistreated and abused, and he is determined to find her a place in his household. Unfortunately (and this was funny) she has no talent for any of the jobs she is given. It gradually dawns on them that her upbringing was one of wealth, so what caused her to fall into the hands of a villain? An enjoyable story but the ARC needed a good proof-reader.

Louisa has spent the last 6 years in abject misery. Trevor has spent the last year mourning a wife who really didn’t need to be mourned-at least by him. When Trevor finds her on the road-literally , he takes her in, beginning a journey neither of them ever anticipated. The twists and turns keep you guessing throughout the story, though I have to admit this story seemed to be much longer than necessary. I adored all the different attempts on Louisa’s part to help in the household and the ending was not anything like I thought it would be. Amanda and Adam are so cute and the pain and deception depicted especially in the first chapters are downright heart wrenching. This author will definitely draw out all your emotions and keep you riveted most of the time. A very original story.

I received this story for free and these are my own views. .

THINGS I LIKED
1. The MCs seem like good people
2. The plot twist

THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE
1. The book was too fast. Everything happened as if I was fast forwarding a movie. Everything and everyone just kept revealing themselves. No drama, no suspense.
2. The love story was too fast and kinda inappropriate in the beginning, considering the FMC started off as a servant.
3. It was kinda bland and disappointing.

I didn't really like this book, but I was still able to finish it

This is my first time reading this author and I chose it because the plotline intrigued me. I was surprised how invested I became on the characters of Louisa and Trevor. I couldn't put the book down!
We meet Louisa as she is going to pick a gentleman's pocket. In the beginning her story reads like an Oliver Twist plot but rest assured it broadens and expands into a highly creative read and if you like your heroines slightly mysterious then this is for you. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for a highly entertaining book. I hope there is a next one featuring Trevors brother Tristan.

A heartbreaking story of deception and pain.
Louisa is living on the streets and gets run over by Trevor the Duke.
Trevor takes her in to care for this starved downtrodden woman who cannot even remember anything about her past life.
Louisa has many glimpses of her past life both good and bad.
As Trevor begins to care for her, many twists about her identity come to the surface to challenge their new relationship.
A love story overcoming tragic circumstances.
