So glad I could read the volume 2, I love being in this universe.
Thank you netgalley for the copy

The story is so heartwretching. The art is so beautiful. The poly throuple makes me so happy. This speaks to me in my soul. Thank you do much to the author, publisher, and netgalley.

I was promised non-monogamous sapphics in book one and here they are! I love the representation in this graphic novel and the story is amazing to boot! It just getting more complex with possessed girls, ones who are betrothed and don't want to be, dead family member's journals, and sweat joyful monsters from another dimension who are withering away! I need more of this story ASAP.

Loved volume two of this series. I can’t get over how stunning the illustrations are. The colors are so vivid and just pop off the screen. Looking forward to reading more of this story!

I love that we finally get to see what Camille's father looks like, and he's so darn cute!!! The artwork is just as stunning and beautiful as the first volume, and this books picks up right where the first one left off!
Athalie is just as horrible as she is in the first book—if not even more so. I really hope she gets what's coming to her. She's a horrible mother, and we see in this book just what she's capable of doing to those who she claims to love for the sake of her own idealogy.
I love that Camille is finally standing up for herself and fighting back. Healing is a long road, and finding out the truth about her past and dealing with more tradgedy doesnt help, but I think she'll get there in time now that she has people to support her and she's growing ino her powers.
I'm absolutely hooked on this story!! I love everything about it and I'm excited to see what will happen in volume 3. I definitely recommend reading this series!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is definitely my new favorite graphic novel series and I can't wait to devour them all! Dendro, the plant demon is also my new favorite character. This one felt more emotional than the previous one with her anxiety and self doubt. I think that is her true demon and will be able to defeat anything that comes her way once she has confidence and self love. Her childhood was ruined by the death of her mother and twin, on top of being raised by her aunt that is auctioning her off for marriage to the highest bidder. The cliff hanger on this one is even worse because I don't have volume 3!
Camille has been at the manor for a week without her controlling aunt until she finds out she has been arranged to be married. With the news she accidently blows up on her cousin causing a rift between them. Luckily Dendro, the plant demon is there to help her with her overpowering emotions and the new ability that comes with it. Camille is trying to get Avaline to join her at the manor because she feels she might be in danger. Camille and Nyra come up with a plan to rescue Avaline but everything may not go according to plan.

Muted: Volume 2 deepens the story in all the right ways. Miranda Mundt continues to deliver powerful visuals and emotionally rich storytelling that pulls you further into this haunting world. The characters grow in complexity, and the tension feels even more intense this time around. It’s beautifully moody, immersive, and full of quiet power. A standout continuation that leaves you wanting more.

How is it possible for this series to be 600 pages in and STILL not have very much happen or be explained? The artwork is still absolutely gorgeous, but the pace of the story is so agonizingly slow that I just have to give up on this series.

"Muted: Volume 2" is a mesmerizing sequel.
Miranda Mundt provides us with an entrancing story line that manages to provide more information about the character's backgrounds while equally leaving us with even more questions than answers.
I devoured this series in two days and I now anxiously await for the third one to be available (which I'm suspecting it may take a while XD).
All the characters keep winning my heart over and over again. Their beautiful designs and expressions are carefully crafted and incredibly appealing. I'm always surprised how the character's emotions are portrayed in the images, they're all so realistic.
I'm so invested!
I think this series is single-handedly getting me back into graphic novels hahah (Nyra girl hit me up).
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

I decided to pick up volume 2 even though volume one wasn’t my absolute favourite, simply because I was pretty curious how the story would develop. Unfortunately I had similar issues with this volume as the previous one.
The writing sometimes felt a little on the nose to me. As if we were being told that these characters care about each other, but I never really felt it. This is obviously a very personal thing so I’m sure that a lot of people may feel very differently about this aspect than I did. There’s just a bit of depth within the story that I find a little lacking.
I will say, the art is still really beautiful and there were several pages that I found very striking and beautiful.
For me, I do think this will be the final volume I read in this series, just because it’s not 100% my thing. I really do hope this finds its audience, so if the plot sounds intriguing to you, be sure to pick it up.

Muted Volume 2 beautifully follows on from Volume 1. Camille continues on her journey of personal growth with the help of Silvia, new ‘friend’ Nyra, and familiars Dendro and Toben. She grows the strength to confront both the demon that has been stalking her and her aunt that has tortured her. In turn, she confronts her fears and grief that have plagued her since her mother and sister’s deaths. Unfortunately, Avaline her cousin, is currently unable to break free from her mother and Camille must face the truth that it is not her responsibility as she has tried to help her cousin as best she can. I loved that her emotions are what makes her strong. Since people, particularly women, have been thought as lesser in society due to their emotions, I really enjoyed in this story that although overwhelming emotions can be debilitating at times – it is also what makes us strong and human. Camille has shown tremendous character growth and the side characters are well rounded and diverse. There are also sweet, light-hearted moments within the novel between characters, which makes the story even more enjoyable.
The art is beautiful and portrays the story wonderfully.
Thank-you to NetGalley, Publisher, and the author Miranda Mundt for this eARC.

I think I enjoyed the conclusion to this witchy cartoon drama better than volume 1.
The best part about it is the graphics which are very expression in their facial features as well as eye catching. In book one I felt the story meandered a bit but this one was much more focused despite a lot going on.
I enjoyed watching things unfold and became much more engaged with the characters and the decisions they made.
If you’re looking for a fun supernatural graphic novel this due is coming out in July and October so give it a go!
I am thankful to have gotten a complimentary eARC from Ten Speed Press athrough NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.
My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars
⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again

“Muted” is a very compelling story of magic, tragedy, hope and familial ties with all the drama such a combination could make. It includes a wonderfully diverse, engaging and dangerous cast of characters. The plot is both suspenseful and emotional. The artwork’s clean lines and wonderful colouring are a joy to look at. The dialogue is nicely lettered and easy to read. I greatly look forward to reading future volumes. My only suggestion would be to include a prologue to bring the reader up to speed (I was unable to read the first volume before reviewing Volume 2).

The second volume of the Muted series it's a nice and entertaining reading as the first installment, which, to be fair, I liked more.
The art style is still really beautiful, in particular in the chapter headings and in the pages in-between, and the story is starting to develop, however this time there was something lacking. Probably it was because it is a quite introspective volume, with Camille spending much of the time reflecting on herself, her life, her powers, who she truly wants to be, which is helpful to frame her development and how difficult it can be, but leaves everyone else and the understanding of the magical world she lives in behind.
Although I were less invested in it, I still enjoyed the book as it has a lot of potential. I am curious about where the story will go.

The story continues (so be aware there'sspoilers ahead!!): As Camille tries to dtay out of the clutvhes of her controlling aunt Attelie, you get to know a part of thhe truth behind the glasshouse fire thzt took out Camille's family. Her emotions are spiralling influencing her to summon a plant demon, Dendro. She is the cutest of demons ever! Anyway, if you want to find out if Camille's feelings for Nyra are reviprocated... read this second volume of Muted!!!
I love this series!!
The drawing style and colours, the characters, the action packed plot, lgbtqia+🌈, girls being badasses, the magic,... can't wait for the 3rd volume and will recommend this series to anyone who likes a fantasy graphic novel! Even tipped my local bookstores to stock up on this series!!
Muted vol.2 is out October 14th. Thank you Miranda Mundt, Tenspeed Press and Netgalley to trust me with and advanced readers copy. (All opinions in this review are my own.)
This review will be posted closer to the release date, end of september.

What an absolutely captivating journey! Muted, Volume 2 is a stunning continuation of Camille's story, deepening the rich world and complex characters we met in the first volume. This graphic novel masterfully weaves together themes of self-discovery, trauma, and the beautiful chaos of new relationships.
Camille's struggle to balance familial expectations with her own burgeoning power is incredibly relatable, and watching her develop an uncontrollable new ability in the face of her arranged marriage adds such a compelling layer of conflict. Her bond with Dendro, the plant demon, is both heartwarming and genuinely helpful, providing a grounding force as she grapples with her past.
The true heart of this volume, however, lies in Camille's relationships. The rift with Avaline is painful but realistic, and the budding romance with Nyra is simply enchanting. Their mission to New Orleans is fraught with unpredictable dangers and painful secrets, keeping you on the edge of your seat. The "found family" aspect is beautifully integrated, making this a truly inclusive and joyful read.
With lush artwork and a truly magical atmosphere, Muted, Volume 2 is everything you could want and more. The exclusive bonus chapter is the cherry on top of an already perfect read. If you're looking for a coming-of-age story with depth, magic, and genuine heart, this is an absolute must-read!

Really enjoyed the second installment and looking forward to the next. The characters are developing well, and the story is really starting to move along too. This volume is a beautifully drawn too. (I think I must be missing something with Web Toons, because a lot of really good graphic novels have come out of it!) Again, looking forward to the next one!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of Muted: Volume 2 by Miranda Mundt.
Muted: Volume 2 - my love grew more for the characters and the story with every page. Everything flowed nicely, and everything continued to make sense, there was nothing that I found myself confused over or sought more information on.
The development and exploration of Camille’s character is exceptional, in my opinion, having that gradual learning curve and acceptance (although still partial at this point in her story) makes her character more lovable and believable. Her relationship with Nyra and Dendro - and even their blooming friendship/something more with each other - all feels very natural. And Avaline, my sweet Avaline oh how her storyline is upsetting me but I love her.
The art style fits and flows in the panels so beautifully that it truly needs to be commended.

I am in love with the art for this series. In this volume especially it creates such an enchanting atmosphere. The story continues in an interesting way. The pacing feels a little bit off but it could be that I’m used to ready this one weekly. A high point of this volume is the relationship between the main character and her cousin. It artfully displays Camille’s guilt and conflict. I cannot stress enough how incredible the art is in this aspect. I’m excited to see the rest of the story adapted!

After reading Volume 1, I was really looking forward to continuing Camille's story. Volume 2 picks right back up where we'd left off and somehow manages to nearly immediately retain high stakes as Camille looks for a way to protect her cousin. It was really nice getting a lot more background info on not only Camille but the people around her, especially Dendro and Nyra. There was somehow a lot of information covered in this volume, giving us crucial character lore and changes in interpersonal relations, but the pacing felt a bit off in a way I can't quite put my finger on. The time span covered in this volume compared to the last is a much shorter time frame but so much is happening all of the time. The art was as good as in Volume 1 and had some great standout panels particularly during some of the later emotional scenes. Whereas at the end of Volume 1, I wanted the next part of the story in order to learn more about Camille now I'm left hoping to read Volume 3 in order to dig into not only Camille's story but the broader witch politics and more info on side characters and demons.
Thanks to NetGalley and Ten Speed Graphic for the ARC to review, all thoughts and opinions my own. As requested, reviews will be posted externally during the week of publish date across platforms.
