While this book was an easy and entertaining read; I don't feel like it was necessary. I definitely enjoyed 'The Perfect Marriage' more, but understand why Rose wrote this novel to appease the masses.

Thank you to the publisher for the free audiobook!

Rating: 4/5 stars

Set twelve years after the events of THE PERFECT MARRIAGE — this is a true sequel and the synopsis contains spoilers for book one, so I’ll remain vague here.

I had such a fun time reading both of these books. If I thought THE PERFECT MARRIAGE was twisty and insane, this one is DOUBLY bonkers, with so many details and a fun cat and mouse plot at its core.

Once again, this is the definition of a popcorn thriller, but I loved the audio production and the entertainment value overall. Highly recommend (but start with book one!)

CW: Infidelity; murder/death; kidnapping; mentions of physical/domestic abuse

Good follow-up to The Perfect Marriage. Sarah is an interesting character and the story had some great twists and surprises.

Not as great as the first, but if you enjoyed the Perfect Marriage you’ll enjoy this. The narrators were great. I figured most of it out, but there were some twists I didn’t. Enjoy!

Huge thanks to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the ALC.

I thought The Perfect Marriage was pretty predictable and an absurd but enjoyable mystery. This sequel, however, wasn't my favorite.

First of all, why? Why did this need to be written? It doesn't add anything to the original story or even expand on it really, it just took advantage of already having a cast of characters to paint another wackadoo tale on with twists so forced and laughable that I almost sprained my eyeballs rolling them around in my head.

Second of all, I still didn't like any of the characters, even the new ones that appeared here. They're all one-dimensional and all evil. So if the goal was to make the reader hate everyone in the book (except Summer because she's 9 and can't be held responsible for the terrible behavior of the adults in her life), mission accomplished.

Third, ANOTHER BOOK IS COMING?!? I just don't think I can do it.

Clearly this author has many fans so I just might not be the right reader for her books.

**Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.**

I wasn’t sure how they were going to make a sequel for The Perfect Marriage. I did like this book, but I feel that The Perfect Marriage was better. It was a little more predictable since we knew what to expect from the wife. I was still good but the first one was better.

Jeneva Rose is the type of author who you fall in love with her books, but you also fall in love with her instagram. She is such a hoot and I was very excited to read The Perfect Divorce.

📖Rachel Morgan has found herself with another cheating husband. What does she do? She files for divorce, which seems better than the outcome of her last husband. But Bob isn’t having it and thinks they can make it work. It was one time, an accident.

📝At first all of the perspectives felt challenging but they quickly became easy to keep up with. I was so invested in each person's POV that I kept getting annoyed having to switch perspectives. I was just so hooked. The way this unfolded and how clever Sarah is… it was just perfection.

🎧The narration was perfect, providing different voices for each perspective. I appreciate the effort of making this such a great listen!!

After reading and loving The Perfect Marriage, this book, The Perfect Divorce picked right up 11 years later. The powerful attorney, Sarah Morgan defends her husband after his mistress is murdered.
Sarah moves on with her life, having a child and new husband, Bob Miller. Sarah discovers Bob had a one night stand, and files for a divorce. When Bob's mistress comes up missing, let the fight begin. New evidence brings Sarah back into the spotlight, somewhere she does not want to be.
Get ready for twists and turns, suspense, and wonder. Will this be a perfect divorce?

This book clearly wrapped up the events from The Perfect Marriage, in a way that was easily understood and complete. Although I did enjoy most of this book, this continues to be a far fetched concept, and although I did enjoy parts of it, I didn't love some of it. It seemed like it was a stretch for me. I far enjoyed the first one, but I was glad to get the closure on the second book.

Thank you to the Author, Narrators and publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thoroughly enjoyed this follow up the the perfect marriage. I liked the narrator and felt like the characters were just as twisty and complex as the first book. The story was still interesting and kept me guessing. I would definitely read a follow up and really hope there is one.

In 2020’s “The Perfect Marriage,” we follow defense attorney Sarah Morgan as she works to clear her husband Adam, who has been accused of murdering his affair partner. The big reveal was BIG, and “The Perfect Divorce” picks up 10 years later. Adam has been executed in prison, Sarah is remarried with a child, her new husband has had an affair, and now evidence about the original murder trial has come to light. Read the duo together for a mind-blowing ride. Check out the audiobook for multiple narrators who give depth to the shifting perspectives.

"Till death do us part. Yours. Not Mine."

BWAAAHAHA incredible.

I had a feeling this was going to be a bonkers ride, since I had recently read the first book The perfect marriage. Everybody sucks, everybody is unreliable, and it's great. The series is definitely for fans of Freida McFadden, who are used to suspending disbelief for a rollercoaster ride of a book.

Is it a good book? Eh. Is it gripping and entertaining? Sure is! You don't HAVE to read the first book, but it definitely helps and closes up a few plot holes from the first. So go for it. Turn your brain off and enjoy

I received a free audiobook copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

This is the sequel to ‘The Perfect Marriage’ and picks up 11 years later, after Sarah Morgan’s husband, Adam, is executed. To be honest, I read ‘The Perfect Marriage’ a long time ago, and didn’t remember exact details. Jeneva Rose does a great job of reminding the reader about the first book’s important facts. While Sarah is scheming and conniving, she is incredibly smart, and I love reading about a strong and smart female protagonist. I listened to this book, and the multi-cast narration was excellent. Each POV was clearly understood and followed. I’m looking forward to ‘Perfect #3’!

The Perfect Divorce completely pulled me in from the start. Jeneva Rose does an incredible job building tension and layering the story with twist after twist. Just when I felt like I had a handle on what was happening, another curveball would come out of nowhere—making it impossible to put down.

Another Jeneva Rose banger! I was hooked from the beginning and had to go back to read the first book because I felt like it was best paired in order.

Jeneva Rose is the queen of twists, and this book is no exception! It's a great follow-up to The Perfect Marriage; I may have even liked it more than the first book. Sarah Morgan was her husband's lawyer for his murder trial 10 years before this story takes place. This book jumps right back into Sarah's world. It went in a different direction than I anticipated, but I thought it was great. So many bad people doing bad things!

Book Review: The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)

⚠️ Spoiler Alert – This review contains spoilers for The Perfect Divorce and its predecessor, The Perfect Marriage.

Jeneva Rose brings us back into the world of Sara Morgan in The Perfect Divorce, the highly anticipated sequel to The Perfect Marriage. This time, we find Sara surprisingly married to Bob Miller—yes, the brother of Adam, whose murder was at the center of book one.

The twist? Bob turns out to be no better than Adam, cheating on Sara and setting the stage for yet another messy, high-stakes legal battle. Sara, ever sharp and relentless, files for divorce and sets out to take him down, echoing the cat-and-mouse legal drama we loved in the first installment.

I’m glad I read these books back-to-back, as the continuity between the two makes the experience more satisfying. The threads from The Perfect Marriage are tightly woven into this sequel, creating a cohesive and engaging narrative.

The plot is undeniably filled with twists, turns, and drama. Is it far-fetched? Definitely—but that’s part of the fun. It's a quick, entertaining read that doesn't take itself too seriously but still keeps you hooked until the very end.

I listened to the audiobook via Audible, thanks to an advanced listening copy from NetGalley. The multiple narrators brought the characters to life in a compelling way, and I thought they were all excellent. The performances really enhanced the storytelling and added extra layers of emotion and suspense.

If you’re looking for a gripping, twisty legal thriller that doesn’t shy away from drama (and a bit of chaos), The Perfect Divorce will not disappoint.

Jeneva Rose delivers another edge of your seat, mystery thriller with her idea of The Perfect Divorce!

High powered lawyer, Sarah Morgan knows what she wants in life and makes it happen. So when she’s decided that her 10 year marriage to Bob Miller is over, there’s no changing her mind no matter what Bob tries to do.

Full of twist and turns and plenty of legal expertise this tale of murder revenge and divorce is fast paced, and definitely keeps you on your toes!

The ensemble narration of the audiobook by Mozahn Navabi, J.S. Arquin, Adam Lazarre- White, Brittany Pressley, Andi Arndt, and Andrew Eiden was extremely engaging to listen to. The variety of voice work brought the individual characters to life and really differentiated the different points of view throughout this twisting tale.

This wasn’t my first Jeneva Rose audio and it definitely won’t be my last - her books are always good for a good thrill and chill!
