This delightful book comes out tomorrow! Rosie’s life didn’t pan out as she would’ve hoped and she has to get a new job and is desperate and just applied anywhere, accepting a job without reading the full details.
I loved this turn of events for Rosie and the new community she is surrounded by. This had great growth and found family, last chance high stakes, and women’s fiction with a touch of sweet clean romance. I loved Arthur and his eventual softening to Rosie. Booker and Rosie had instalove which isn’t always a fan favorite but with forced proximity and the age gap between the retirement community and Rosie and Booker, it makes sense that they’re one of the few young people there.
Loved the narrator, thanks Net Galley and Thomas Nelson for the alc. These are my own thoughts and opinions.

As usual I can count on Walsh to provide a fun, light-hearted, hopeful romance with interesting, albeit flawed, characters. Rosie discovers (finally) more about her true self and desires in this tale set against the backdrop of a theater job with some unexpected helpers and participants. I like that I know what to expect with a Walsh book...clean with a happy ending.
The narration for this book was well-done and easy to follow as well. Recommended for anyone looking for a happy, but not dumbed-down read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for this ARC. All opinions are mine.

In Everything’s Coming Up Rosie, Rosie is an actor living in NYC who lost both her job and her apartment in the same day. She goes home, puts on a brave face for her friends, and applies to any job even remotely related to her profession. When she’s offered a director role for a regional theater’s production of Cinderella, she literally jumps at the chance, moving to Wisconsin without asking any other questions. Only after she arrives does she realize that the production is taking place at a retirement community with a cast and crew of senior citizens. (Not *exactly* what she had in mind.)
This was such a sweet, fun read! And I really enjoyed the audio narration, too. Walsh has such a gift for creating a place and cast of characters that really immerse you in the story. I really love musical theater, so I was very happy to feel like I was a part of this production family! I adored Rosie and thought the way she overcame her own self-doubt was so inspiring to read. She learned that dreams can change and that reimagining them doesn’t mean you gave up. I think that’s such an important message and one that I definitely needed to read.
This is the perfect fun, lighthearted read for summer. And it even has a splash of romance mixed in! I really enjoyed it.

I don’t know how she does it, but Courtney Walsh continues to write comforting, joyful reads that just make me happy! Rosie, of course, is no exception!!!
I cracked up when Rosie realized she had taken a job directing a musical for elderly, retirement community residents! And they were the best! Booker was such a great love interest, supportive, kind - a dream! I really found myself craving more of their love story. I especially loved watching Rosie’s journey to figure out what she wants and open up to her loved ones - she didn’t take the easy path in the end and I just loved how everything wrapped up!!!
🎧I was lucky enough to have the physical book and audio, so I flew through this one! It was truly the best feel-good binge!!!

The narrator was amazing and I have added a new one to my list. She did all of the characters justice . I Loved it! She truly conveyed the emotions and voices so well! She made this book so delightful and easy to listen to.
“Because if I only get you for the summer, I want to be fully present for all of it.”
This book was phenomenal! In true Courtney fashion, she dives into a story that is relatable, heartfelt and full of laughs. Rosie’s faking her way through life, until she takes a new job producing Cinderella. Booker is happy as a PT and living near his grandma. He loves the community he lives in and the people, but is instantly intrigued by Rosie.
“And for the record there's nothing casual about the way I feel about you Rosie.”
There are so many fun surprises, (I really won’t ruin it) but you can’t go wrong with Courtney’s books. There are many self discoveries, growth, rebranding and changing course for characters in this book and I loved it. It was touching and meaningful to me in a way that I needed, while still making me laugh until I cried. It was an inspiring journey that ends the way it should, even if not all readers agree. I love that about Courtney’s books. She doesn’t just write them all with easy HEA, there is always something to learn. I adored all the side characters so much!
“Sometimes dreams shift and change and grow, and changing along with them isn’t failing. Pivoting isn’t quitting. Happiness isn’t linear, and seeking it isn’t selfish.”
Thoughts:
Meet Cute…ah he’s so nice
Tampon List-LOL
It’s a Cult…how did she not figure it out yet?
Newsies-Seize the Day girl, the theater is amazing!
Arthur and Birdie are the best humans and polar opposites
The feeling of being honest.
Truth and a Truth Fridays
Dylan-she’s a goth teen who is hiding something.
NO…not water…why?!?
Dylan is the best…I love her!
Follow your dreams, but don’t leave!!
Learning to believe in yourself.
All the theater references!
“It’s you Rosie, you’re the new dream.”

A fun sweet rom com. Rosie's life is not going according to her plans. Feeling a little lost, she ends up with a new career chance, but has no idea that it is at a retirement community. The setting is a perfect location for this rom-com. There are so many laugh out loud moments. With each one Rosie starts to learn a little more about herself and what "success" really means. The story is full of fun and sweet moments. Everything worked for this story. Rosie is a fun and likeable mess. The narration was great and captured all the moments perfectly. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

When Rosie takes a job as the theater director for a retirement community, she never thinks it just might change her life.
This is a book that references Broadway shows like Funny Girl and Newsies and Chicago and also makes reference to the nuances of Seinfeld.
Based on that alone, I knew I would love this one.
And I definitely did! It was so much fun, and I think Rosie and I would have been fast friends. Her big heart and her constant scrapes made brought to life the most endearing character you couldn’t help but love.
This was a great audiobook, and the narration perfectly brought to life Courtney Walsh’s heartwarming writing. I also loved that this story had a precious low-spice love story; I couldn’t help but love that Booker Hayes!
Perhaps my very favorite aspect was the sweet relationship between Dylan and Rosie. Such a wonderful reminder of the power of intentional interactions and truly seeing those around you.
This book was as much fun as a night at the theater, and my last question is this: can I go ahead and reserve my spot at Sunset Hills? It sounds like an amazing place to spend your golden years.
Are you a Broadway fan? If so, what is your favorite musical?

I loved this book. I was laughing, smiling, and feeling all the feels. I loved all the characters. It was a sweet story filled with joy and hope.

I have to be honest and say that the beginning of this felt super cheesy and young, but I was quickly pulled into the story, and eager to hear what would happen next (especially with Booker).
This ended up being a clean, feel-good story that I think anyone could enjoy.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

♡ Thank you for the free ALC, Thomas Nelson, Zondervan Fiction Audio, and NetGalley.
I enjoy Walsh's sweet romances, and this was no exception. The cover and title drew me in, and the story kept me interested. I especially enjoyed the depth and personal growth in this one. Pick this book up if you are looking for a quick and delightful read.
Listening to this story via audiobook was lovely. Narrator Jorjeana Marie did a great job.

3.6 ⭐
This book felt cute, snuggly fun and relatable 🩷
It's more women's fiction then romance like I had thought... the romance is there and it's nice, but this is mostly about failure, dreams, companionships.
A wonderful audio accompaniment for my day!
It really makes you crave community and human relations 🥰

I absolutely loved listening to this audiobook! The narrator was amazing! The storyline kept me engaged and I never wanted to put this down. I listened to the entire book in 24 hours. Rosie was dealing is a common problem, where she feels that her childhood friends are all successful in what they do, and she is going nowhere while trying to be an actress. After applying to many jobs, she takes a summer position as a creative director at a small theater in Wisconsin. Little does she know, that the small theater is actually part of a retirement community. I loved all the characters. There were challenges Rosie had to overcome in her own life and in the show. I could not stop smiling and laughing at the adventures and situations that Rosie found herself in. This is a perfect summer read, really a perfect read for anytime!

3.75⭐️ rounded up
This book was a bit of a slow starter for me, but once it picked up, I was hooked! I also really enjoyed learning more about theatre life!
Rosie is an actress, but her current jobs - cue usher, ticket taker, etc. - leave her feeling like she’s chasing a dream that’ll never come true. So, as a last ditch effort, Rosie applies to any and every job, and one sticks! Only problem is, Rosie didn’t read what exactly she applied for!
Following Rosie’s mentality shift from failure to go getter was amazing! The banter between all the character kept me smiling and laughing. The wisdom and insight from the older generation of characters was refreshing and relatable. And of course there’s Booker 🥰
Heartwarming, charming, sweet, and a precious summer read! Thank you NetGalley, Thomas Nelson, and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

When I started this book I wasn’t sure if it was a match for me but ended up really liking it. The audio was well done and the narrator was pleasant.
Rosie, one FMC, is an actress in NYC and is dealing with some disappointment in her career, finances/living situation and overall life - especially when compared to her best friends from back home. Feeling insecure, she has kept the reality of her situation and how she feels about it to herself.
Desperate for a paying job she applies to anything remotely related to acting and is thrilled when she gets a generous creative team position for the summer in Door County, Wisconsin.
When Rosie shows up she quickly realizes she signed up for more than she realized. Not only is she the entire creative team but her actors and volunteers are all residents at a retirement community.
This story is very sweet and while there is romance it really highlights Rosie accepting where she is in life and what she wants to do with it. She learns a lot from the people she meets in the community and forms some really meaningful connections with a few.
From what I remember there is essentially zero spice (kisses only) or language so would be a great book for teens but I still enjoyed it.

This book just made me smile. I hated having to press pause on the audiobook - it was such a breath of fresh air! The characters were like friends or family, I felt like I was a part of their lives. As if someone was telling me a story over a coffee or lunch. I just adored them all. I loved that the main character was struggling with her life, but telling her friends and family everything was perfect. She would put a smile on her face and act like life was all sunshine and rainbows. When she accepts a job on a creative team in Wisconsin, she hopes for the best, but is shocked to learn that she is working in a retirement community. Throughout the course of the book, Rosie goes from questioning her life and experience, to falling in love with her job, the community and Wisconsin. I just loved the optimism and joy that was felt through the pages. It was just a wonderful and sweet book!
Thank you netgalley for my advanced reader copy.

Honey, everything's coming up Rosie! 🎶
If you love the theater, you will love "Everything's Coming up Rosie". Courtney Walsh has titled her book with a paraphrase of the scene stealing hit number "Everything's Coming Up Roses" from "Gypsy", and this sweet confection that is sure to please any musical theater lover's taste. Rosie Waterman was a theater kid who actually had the gumption to move to New York and try for her big break. But now she is broke, and her career is non-existent. In an application blitz, she applies for anything theater related she can find, without really looking at the job descriptions carefully. Rosie finds herself in a job directing "Cinderella" at a retirement community. Part screwball comedy, part romance and part adult "coming of age", this novel follows Rosie's growth as a person as she learns to stop pretending and let people know what she is really thinking. - not an easy task for an actress. The author is also a theatre director and playwright, so all the theater details are spot on. Rosie can't resist a song cue and this book had me singing along with her. The characters were a lot of fun and had me wishing that I was in the cast with them. I did think that Rosie took too long to realize the exact nature of her job. It made her seem pretty dense, and she is otherwise pretty savvy. This novel refreshingly different from the current trend in romances. There is absolutely no spice- just kissing. That plot twist is a bit unrealistic for a character her age, but it makes the book appropriate for readers of any age. This one is sure to please theater geeks and senior citizens so it was right up my alley.
I alternated between the audiobook and eBook of this fun story. Narrator Jorjeana Marie makes an ideal Rosie and the versatile actress handled a variety of characters with ease. I will be on the lookout for more audiobooks with her narration. Follow my direction and grab this book.

Oh boy, a dorky theatre nerd accidentally ends up at a retirement community for the summer. Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a fun, light, easy breezy read for the summer. Rosie falls under the category of “adorkable” and gives off a Jess from New Girl vibe. The narrator embodied this same vibe through the book. I enjoyed the cast of retirees and Rosie’s (young adult) love interest was sweet. While predictable, I enjoyed the heart warming ending.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for early access to to the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This charming new book is definitely one to have on your summer TBR if you love heartfelt stories, character growth, and intergenerational connections! It follows a struggling Broadway star who takes a job directing a regional production but doesn’t realize until she arrives that it is actually at a retirement community.
I listened to the audiobook and that was a great way to go. The narrator Jorjeana Marie is one I was already a fan of from other authors’ books and she is very engaging and easy to listen to!
I have always been interested in theater and I know the author has a lot of experience from running a theater program herself and so I was really excited to see her bring that experience into one of her books. The mix of a Broadway star turned director/producer, a snarky teen that plays a pivotal role, and the elderly actors that make up the cast was delightful to see in the ways a common purpose in theater brought them all together, formed connections, and crossed divides. All of the intergenerational friendships were delightful to read about. There is also a romance side plot that was very sweet and felt very natural and overdramatized.
I loved the themes of what to do when the dreams you’ve always had don’t work out the way you pictured. It was a great exploration of the ways dreams pivot and can develop in different ways without giving up on them.
Trigger/content notes: Past parental abandonment. Spice level is kissing.

A cute little romance, that’s actually more a journey of self discovery for the main character, Rosie. The ending was surprising but not disappointing.

This book is a must read. I listened to the audio version and the voice actor nailed it! She added so much life into the book. I have loved everything I have read so far by this author and this book was no exception . It's the perfect feel good summer rom com. Clean romance, quirky characters/plot, and humor for days. While this is a fun book, there are some great serious notes weaved throughout like found family, and personal growth. I will be recommending yours book to all my girlfriends.
Thank you to netgalley and the books publishers for the advanced audio copy of this book. The thoughts above and 100 percent my own and honest opinions.
