Hmm...how do I even begin. I'll start by saying I did finish the book and may read the next one, but I felt like I was reading a self-publ;ished book I found on Amazon. I'm late doing the review and the title has been archived so I am stopping now.

I am a little conflicted over this book - it is dark and sometimes tough but does have some very hot paranormal elements that I usually go for. Oh, and warning - CLIFFHANGERS!
Sadie grew up in a terrible way. In their world, there is a sort of caste system arranged around how powerful you are as a shifter, or if, like Sadie, you have no power at all. She’s abused her whole life by her slaver, all in the idea of protecting her sister from that abuse. It makes her hard, which makes it that much harder when her life is turned upside down and she ends up showing signs of somehow being a female alpha. This puts her on the top of the food chain and forces her to share rooming with the other three current alpha shifters.
On top of the political issues, there’s also the fact that she’s upending a lot of beliefs and getting thrown into some existing relationships (some of a sexual nature - hot). As predicted, however, they all begin to be pulled into her allure no matter how much they try to fight it. It was a good start to what is no doubt a big series if the complete cliffhanger is any indication. It caught me by surprise and made me a little angry that I didn’t get to see some resolution to the utter betrayal. Oh well!

Thank you to NetGalley for the eArc of this book!!! I absolutely enjoyed this book. I love the independence of our FMC as well as our protective MMCs (even though they are not happy about). The banter between these characters is often quite humorous and often spicy. The work this author creates is unique and the story is always moving forward. Can't wait to see what else happens in the next book

I'll be honest.
I read and listened to Blood of Hercules before listening to and reading Psycho Shifters. I really enjoyed Blood of Hercules but with that I felt like Psycho Shifters gave off similar elements, even though it came out first. The narrators, were so good that I was able to look over the repetitiveness of things that happened (Jamie Lincoln Smith, Sebastian York and Teddy Hamilton were good, you can't go wrong) the female narrator Mollie Stark was also good and brought the sassy and funny parts of Sadie but like I said it got too repetitive, it didn't feel like it was going forward until the last couple chapters. I did like the different POV chapters that were in this. Overall it was ok.

Psycho Shifters is the kind of book that feels like a fever dream—chaotic, sexy, and completely unhinged. It throws you into a world of violent alpha shifters, twisted power dynamics, and a heroine who somehow holds her own through the madness. The plot isn’t always cohesive, and the writing can be rough around the edges, but it has an addictive quality that makes it hard to put down.
Overall, Psycho Shifters is a guilty pleasure for fans of dark reverse harem romances with bite (lol). It’s not for the faint of heart or those seeking elegance or subtlety—but if you're in the mood for something wild, messy, and just a little bit insane, this might be exactly what you're looking for

I've been eyeing this series for so long- so with the beautiful new cover and the new audio performances, and my new obsession with omegaverse, I had to dive in at long last. This book completely hooked me—an irresistible “why choose” fantasy meets pseudo-omegaverse (more shifter but it's labelled as omegaverse) romance with a strong heroine, a unique world, and a slow-burn setup that had me flipping pages late into the night. The fantasy is accessible, the tension is high and the slow burn, and the characters are alluring. Definitely a great series starter.
Sadie has spent her life being mistreated, working as a servant under the cruel thumb of a Beta who’s made it his mission to keep her down. But everything changes the day she’s tested and it’s revealed she’s not just any shifter—she’s an Alpha. Suddenly, her world is turned upside down as she’s dropped into Portal #3, a training compound designed to prepare elite shifters for the war against the Fae Queen. Now, Sadie’s dealing with far more than just survival. She’s thrown into brutal training sessions, forced to navigate a hierarchy she doesn’t fully understand, and—most importantly—she’s living with three dangerously attractive, emotionally complicated Alpha shifters who are supposed to be helping her hone her powers. Spoiler alert: feelings get messy fast.
Sadie is a such a great heroine- she's the perfect balance of the kick-a heroine people love with real vulnerabilities too. She’s fierce, sarcastic, and carries the kind of strength that comes from surviving a lot of abuse and refusing to be broken. But she struggles too—some moments of darkness and self-doubt. But she's also done taking orders, done playing nice, and her bold attitude (plus her hilariously sharp tongue) makes her an absolutely riveting leading lady and the center of his story.
The dynamic between her and the three Alphas is explosive—in every sense. They’re standoffish, mercurial, hostile even. But underneath that tension is a slow-burning connection that’s only just beginning to unfold. Thisisn’t an insta-love story. It’s a true slow burn. Which I don't always love, but here it really works for these characters. We invest in THEM first before we start to understand their dynamic. The attraction is undeniable though, but so are the emotional walls and power struggles between. That tension? Delicious.
The guys—especially Jax and Cobra—are layered and alluring. There are hints of existing relationships (Cobra and Jax are romantically involved, which adds a polyamorous angle that is full of potential. Not sure if that will be explored more or if this will be more of a heroine centered why choose story, but either way their relationships are all interesting. The spice we have is great, but we don't have a TON- mild for what I expected, but I think we're just scratching the surface of what's to come. Hoping that both the spice AND the emotional connection continue to evolve.
There is a cliffhanger that has be coming back for more, and I did enjoy Jasmine's writing overall. There are some repetitive tendencies in the prose, but the world building is good, works well for a more "fantasy light" reader like me, and the characters are the focal point and very compelling created. Plus, the mystery around each character’s backstory left me desperate for more about them all. I need book two!

Psycho Shifters throws you headfirst into a dark reverse harem world with alpha chaos, brutal tension, and one FMC who’s ready to burn it all down before she ever plays victim - and it is a MUST READ!
This book? FERAL. Chaotic. I devoured every single page - ruining my sleep schedule for it even!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and ended up binging the rest of the trilogy over a few days. It was addictive and once further into the story the pace began to pick up. While some worldbuilding was explained I would've loved to have a bit more but perhaps the spinoff trilogy will provide more when I eventually get around to reading it. This book reminded me of many paranormal & shifter series I used to read and I did enjoy having a somewhat different take on what is essentially an omegaverse dynamic.
While I read this quickly and I enjoyed it overall, I could see some things that might bother some readers. For example, the MFC's small & weak stature is frequently brought up. However, this was great as a quick & fun read that didn't require me to overthink the worldbuilding or lore (not a bad thing, sometimes I don't want to have to track a million different bits of worldbuilding it gets difficult as a chronic fantasy reader).

Psycho Shifters is the first in a trilogy series by Mas. Head her trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, this is not for the weak of heart and there is some very in your face spice. The series is complete but placed here on NetGalley as a re-release and cover. To be very honest I'm not just sure what to think about what all I read, it was gut wrenching to reading about what Sadie had to endure at the hands of Dick, her master, but the girl has such a fire inside and is still sassy. I'm very curious as to what will all happen to Sadie and what she really is because I remember the lake turning two colors and nothing was talked about that at all yet.

Can Jasmine Mas write anything that doesn’t intrigue me? Her female main characters are strong and simply put legendary. Their prowess and determination will be something that lives rent free in your head. Thank you Harlequinn and Jasmine Mas for the opportunity to read and review.

Do we have a name for books with really strong adherence to tropes that are fast-paced and fun easy reads? It feels like a genre in and of itself and Psycho Shifters is a great example of this kind of book. Reverse Harem/Why Choose, Omegaverse-adjacent (A/B/O breed designations but a very different spin on them), Abusive/tragic backstories, Government control, The Fancy Dress, The Leader, The Mysterious One, The Spoiled Bad Boy, the Best Friend, All Sleeping in One Room, The First of Their Kind Protagonist, Secret <spoiler>, and the list could go on. There are parts of this book that weren't really for me, namely the very loose to non-existent understanding of consent. It was easy to think of this fantastical realm as pretty old school but there were these insertions of modern tech and suddenly there was this magic that turned a party into a reality show broadcast around the realm. Not wearing underwear when the dress is so short it could show because somehow that is worse than showing your private bits? But it was face paced, full of action and drama, and I would happily go on to read more. Sometimes scoffing at some of what I'm reading is part of the fun.

This was a wild ride that took me a little time to get into. The whole omegaverse setup was totally new to me so I definitely spent the first part of the book trying to figure out how everything worked. By the end I felt like I had a solid grip on the world and its rules. Once I was fully invested the book ended and I nearly ran right off the cliff. 😂 I wasn’t ready. I loved that all of them have tortured pasts and got this far despite that. I’m not a huge fan of the bully trope though so I think that’s main reason for not rating it higher. I am excited to get to Aran’s story later on in the series because I think that’s going to make for a really good book.

Psycho Shifters had a wild, intriguing premise that made me think I was in for a fast-paced, steamy, chaotic ride. I expected paranormal drama, alpha tension, and dark romance vibes. And while it delivered on the chaos, everything else felt a bit off.
The story moves quickly, but not in a way that felt satisfying. Characters are introduced fast and without much depth, and I found it hard to connect emotionally to any of them. I wanted more world-building and more time to sit in the tension before everything escalated. It all felt a little rushed.
The main character had a strong voice, but I struggled with some of her choices and especially with how she was treated by the shifters. Their behavior often crossed into toxic territory, and I found it hard to root for any of the relationships. I get that the book leans into the darker side of romance, but it never gave me the emotional grounding or chemistry I needed to stay invested.
There were a few twists and intense moments that kept me curious, and I could see glimpses of something more layered underneath the surface. But it didn’t come together in a way that felt cohesive or earned. The writing felt repetitive at times, and the pacing made it hard to fully engage with what was happening.
If you love over-the-top paranormal drama with a very messy cast and don’t mind toxic dynamics or loose world-building, this might be your thing. But for me, it didn’t land.

Psycho Shifters throws you headfirst into a dark, twisty, reverse harem world with alpha chaos, brutal tension, and one FMC who’s ready to burn it all down before she ever plays victim.
This book? FERAL. Unhinged. Messy. Chaotic. And I devoured every single page.
You’ll be clutching your Kindle, side-eyeing the MMCs, and begging for book 2 the second you hit The end!

This book is feral—and I mean that in the best way.
Sadie is thrown into a brutal shifter world with three alpha jerks (Jax, Ascher, and Cobra) who make it clear she’s not welcome. But she’s not some scared little thing—she’s angry, traumatized, and ready to burn everything down if it means surviving.
This is a slow-burn, semi-bully-style reverse harem with zero fated mates or insta-love (so far). The guys are at times awful. The tension is brutal. The vibes are dark. But it’s addicting in that can’t-look-away kind of way.
Not for everyone, but if you like your shifter romances mean, messy, and scorching with potential, Psycho Shifters is worth the chaos. And the new duet style recordings are great!

I knew I would like this book but I definitely enjoyed it more than I expected. I didn't expect this book to be so spicy and dirty! I feel like the first spicy scene just came out of nowhere, but it worked. I did feel like some of the scenes didn't flow well into the next scene which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 starts. Totally worth the read though. I even requested the next books in the series from my library.

I was entranced by this whole book. The fmc, Sadie, had such a dark background story that instantly had me on the edge of my seat and rooting for her. I was really surprised when the first twist occurs and she is brought to the alphas. I loved the mmc's personalities and how they all become so protective and possessive whenever they think Sadie is in danger or in pain. The plot was really well laid out, the humor is refreshing and perfectly timed, and the found family was unique and fun. Then the cliffhanger ending?! That last chapter was needed for more in depth understanding. I cant wait for the next book!

Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Maas is an absolute five-star knockout! From the very first chapter, I was pulled into a wildly unique world that masterfully blends danger, desire, and dark humor in all the right ways. Maas has created a setting that feels raw and unpredictable—unlike any shifter universe I’ve encountered before—and I couldn’t get enough of it.
The characters are truly the heartbeat of this story. Each one is distinct, chaotic in the best way, and brilliantly developed as the plot unfolds. Whether they made me laugh out loud, roll my eyes, or unexpectedly melt, I genuinely loved them all. Watching their relationships evolve added emotional depth that made the intense moments hit even harder.
The touches of comedy were perfectly placed and much needed—offering a refreshing balance to the high-stakes action and twisted romance. Maas has a gift for timing, and it shows in every one-liner, awkward moment, or unexpected laugh during the chaos.
This book has it all: sizzling tension, off-the-wall personalities, sharp banter, and a storyline that kept me up way past my bedtime. I am officially obsessed and already ready for more. If you’re into shifter romance with a dark edge, found family vibes, and characters that will live rent-free in your head—Psycho Shifters is a must-read!

Absolutely ate this book up...seriously, in a day! I've never read a shifter/omegaverse before and what an introduction. The world building and magic system was interesting yet easy to follow. Perfect for someone new to the genre. Sadie definitely made the "top FMCs" list. Her strong will yet self-deprecating humor was a great mix. One minute I'm cheering on a bad a** and the next I'm cracking up! And I loved the vastly different personalities and back stories of the 3 males (hello, reverse harem!) and reading their POV. I immediately purchased other titles by the author and can't wait to finish the shifters series!

Thank you to Jasmine Mas and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC and listen to this ALC and give my honest review!
In all transparency here, I LOVED and DEVOURED The Blood of Hercules - so I was super excited to read this book; it had been on my TBR for a while.
First I’ll start with the audiobook - the narrators and the duet style narration was perfection! Mollie Stark was wonderful and really added to the FMC’s comedic inner monologue and quips. (As soon as I heard Teddy Hamilton’s voice I knew it was going to be good.)
I really enjoyed the banter and tension in this book. Especially between Sadie and Cobra. (Who doesn’t love a tortured shadow daddy?) And that twist though! I will definitely be continuing on to read the rest of this series!
