ARC Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I LOVE this new cover with the sprayed edges. It had been long enough since my last read that I got to enjoy it all over again with fresh eyes.

I am very happy I was reintroduced to this series. The ending is quite the cliffhanger and I am sooo glad book 2 is already out. There are six books in this series available now. I hope they all get these great sprayed edges designs too.

Omegaverse + RH

Dark themes, harsh realities, and uncomfortable situations. This makes the book better, creating flawed characters with the potential to grow. This feels like a great setup for the rest of the series.

This is NOT a lighthearted romcom, please read the triggers first. It does have humor and light moments. Some spice in this one and I'm guessing more will be in the following books.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this ARC!

I first heard about this series on TikTok (go figure), and when I saw it was available on NetGalley, I knew it was meant to be. After seeing Blood of Hercules everywhere, I was super excited to get into more of her other books. Then, when I saw this one was Why Choose and Shifterverse, I was instantly sold.

I love that her books are getting the hype that they deserve. The men in this book, if you can call them that, are SO hot, and I cannot hold myself accountable for the things I felt reading this book. It was witty, fun, and spicy—everything you could want, and maybe some you don't. While there were definitely some moments where it was cringey, it was a really fun time, and I don't mind the alpha male in this. Let me say this is not for everyone, but it was for me. And I am about to bend the next two books in this trilogy.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me access to an eARC for this book!

4.0 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Psycho shifters is the first book of a series. This book features Sadie who begins the book as a servant until she is taken to a lake and revealed to be an alpha which means she is meant to be a leader in a war against the fae and she has the ability to turn into a monster. She is then taken to a portal where she joins other alphas and betas and trains for the war. She meets three alphas who make her time difficult. The story continues from there.

I really enjoyed Sadie as a character. She has many different aspects to herself including her strongwilled alpha side, her logical killer side, and her vulnerable female side. I loved seeing her react to different situations, particularly in relationship to the other alphas.

I liked getting to see the perspective from the other alphas. I liked getting a glimpse into their stories and loved seeing their relationships with one another.

As a whole, I enjoyed this book. I will say I felt like at times the plot moved a little slow. It was more character driven so while I was not bored, I found myself wanting to learn a little more about the world and the overarching plot opposed to more of the day to day action. I did enjoy the idea of having the shifters turn into different monsters. And I found the premise to be unique. I definitely plan to continue this series.

I would definitely look up trigger warnings, there are a lot of scenes describing and depicting abuse. It is also a very spicy book. The scenes include M/M and poly scenes.

🌟 4.5/5 Stars 🌟

Would you enjoy reading a fun, action-heavy paranormal romance why-choose fantasy with three hot AF alpha males? 😏🔥 Yes please!!! Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Mas has everything—spice, action, character development, and a training scene that totally gives Fourth Wing vibes 🐉💪.

Sadie is such a relatable, fierce MC—I loved her girl-boss energy and refusal to let anyone control her body or her fate 🙅‍♀️👑. This body does contain some DARK scenes, so please read the trigger warnings and take them seriously! Sadie starts off as an indentured servant but once it's discovered she’s actually an Alpha, things get real. She’s sent off to train with a group of Alphas, and that’s when the sparks start flying.💫

While there’s not a ton of spice with Sadie yet (patience, friends!), there is spice with other MMCs, which sets the stage for things to heat up in future books. I’m already obsessed with all three MMCs 😍 and can’t wait to see how the romance builds from here!

My only wish? A little more world-building would help paint the scene better. Parts of this book went really fast, and there are a couple of times when it was hard to keep track of the who, what, when, where, and why. But honestly, Sadie’s first-person POV pulls you in so fast, you barely notice. It’s an immersive ride from page one 📖✨.

If you're into omegaverse, why-choose romance, or just want to dive into a wild and spicy new world, Psycho Shifters is the perfect gateway into the Cruel Shifterverse 🌕🐺.

10/10 recommend. Let the obsession begin!

Thank you to Netgalley and Jasmine Mas for sharing this book with me!

I always enjoy Jasmine Mas' work and this book is no different! I love this trilogy and story so much, and I am so excited for it to be published for a wider audience! The same hilarious writing, unique plot and world-building, and sassy characters who also break my heart are alive here in this book and I can't wait to have it physically in my hands.

I really enjoyed Pyscho Shifters ! This was such a fun read. From the very beginning you are rooting for the fmc. She’s been through some harsh situations. Check trigger warning for sure.

Jasmine Mas can write the sh*t out of a whychoose romance, and I’m living for it. These alphas were my dream possessive alphaholes and I ate it up.
For being a why choose this was definitely a slower burn!

The plot twist at the end was everything !!! Cannot wait for the second book.

This story was a fantastic introduction into a fantasy world of far and shifters. The main characters all have some trauma that we are starting to on cover and the twists and turns of the court intrigue is tantalizing. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series because the ending had me hooked.

I wanted to love it. But I didn't. Got repetitive with talking about how tiny the FMC was and all that nonsense. Got really bored with it. I can see why some people would love it, just not for me.

Thanks to NetGalley for the copy of this book.

Thank you, Harlequin Trade Publishing | Canary Street Press, for the eARc!

I requested this book on NetGalley because I had seen it mentioned on social media. Unfortunately, it ended up not being the right fit for me.

This was my first Jasmine Mas book. I struggled with the writing style and didn’t connect with the humor. The pacing felt uneven, and the tone came across as more juvenile than I expected.

I also found some of the descriptions repetitive, particularly around character traits. The elements of misogyny expressed by the male alpha shifters were jarring and unpleasant to read. I found the world-building to be minimal as well, and I generally prefer my fantasy reads to have a more developed setting.

I considered not finishing the book, but I saw some potential in the plot and was curious to see how the story would unfold. While the plot twist at the end was intriguing, it ultimately wasn’t enough to make me want to continue with the series.

Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Mas is the first book in the Cruel Shifterverse series. Sadie is a shifter and is doing everything possible to survive, when her life is turned upside down after she is discovered to be an alpha. Now she is training and living with three gorgeous alpha men who do not know what to make of this tiny and fierce warrior. This book was so surprising and I absolutely could not put it down! The humor, raw emotion, spice, and constant snark from our FMC was a fun and different take on the romantasy genre and I am excited for the rest of the series!!

Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and the author for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sadie is an indentured servant at a tavern with her younger sister. While her sister seems to be favored by the owner, Sadie is the focus of his abuse. This is a world where shifters exist and each person is tested when they turn 20 years old to see what kind of shifter they are. Sadie never expects to be tested because of her indenture, but an exception is made, and Sadie learns that she is an alpha. She is then literally dropped onto the doorstep of three other alphas that are guarding a portal into the fae realm. She then has to navigate what her being the first female alpha means, what the deal with the three other alphas is, and survive several plots out for her demise.

I very much enjoyed this. I knew I would probably like it for the most part, but it exceeded my expectations. I love how snarky Sadie is and that she never backs down. We get the other perspectives from the other alphas, but Sadie‘s POV tends to be the focus.

I did find the beginning to be a little bit slow, and it felt clunky in the rush to get her out of the tavern and to the other alphas, but once she was there, everything flowed better. This is a light, bully romance, in my opinion, but Jax is pretty quick to, if not trust her, at least treat her with better respect than Ascher and Cobra do.

Probably my favorite part about this is the length. The narrative is faster paced in a novel of this length, so we hit the major beats quicker as well.

If you are a fan of paranormal romance, or romance that is a little bit more out there than the standard fare, you will love this. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

*chefs kiss* x100

If you love a good why choose romance that makes you question how they all go from enemies to lovers and the most kickass, bad ass FMC, you need to check this out. I am so excited that Jasmine had Pyscho Shifters picked up for trad publishing. This is such a fun, good read that you need to stop reading this and go read the book and the rest of the series.

Thanks NetGalley for an ARC!

Jasmine Mas dives headfirst into the reverse harem shifter genre with Psycho Shifters, delivering a gritty and fast-paced paranormal romance that doesn’t hold back. From the opening chapter, the story grabs you with its raw energy, bold characters, and unapologetic intensity.
Our heroine finds herself entangled with a pack of dangerously unpredictable shifters, each more volatile, magnetic, and morally gray than the last. The dynamic between them is messy, primal, and layered with just enough emotional tension to keep you turning the pages. If you enjoy alpha energy, unfiltered chemistry, and a heroine who doesn’t back down, this is your kind of book. The tone is edgy and deliberately over-the-top, with a constant push-and-pull between attraction and danger. While the plot can feel chaotic at times and leans heavily on shock value and drama, that’s part of the appeal for fans of darker, high-octane paranormal romance.

Psycho Shifters doesn’t aim to be subtle. It’s bold, intense, and made for readers who crave wild, morally twisted anti-heroes and addictive tension. A guilty pleasure read with bite.

💥 𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒. 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐓𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏. 𝐁𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐒. 𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐒. 𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐒. 💥

I finally read Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Mas and y’all—this book is UNHINGED in the best possible way 😤🔥

Sadie is the snarky, self-deprecating, chaotic little alpha I didn’t know I needed. 👑 She's stuck with three giant, tatted-up, horned roommates who train like killers and act like Sadie’s existence personally offends them 🖕😈

But guess what? They think she’s weak. Powerless. A fluke.

They 👏 Are 👏 So 👏 Wrong 👏

💀 This book is pure bully academy, why-choose, morally gray, alpha-male shifter chaos. It’s steamy, unhinged, and unfiltered.
Is the plot a little messy? Yes.
Do I care? Absolutely not.

I was here for the ✨feral vibes✨ and that Jax POV chapter had me straight-up feral. 👀🩸

🔪 White-haired, tiny alpha Sadie is the underdog I'm rooting for.
🐍 Cobra and Ascher? I’m waiting for your POVs.
🤡 Also… y’all trusted Ascher but not Sadie? Make it make sense.

If you love:
⚔️ Extreme enemies-to-lovers
🔥 Alpha males being obsessed psychos
🐾 Feral magic + sexy shifter training
😈 A heroine who bites back (literally)
Then Psycho Shifters needs to be on your TBR like yesterday.

What to expect:

🌶️🌶️.5
This book does end on a cliffhanger! So definitely be prepared for that. I do want to read the next one. It was starting to get very good at the end where I wanted the story to add more.

I have read quite a few shifter romances and the more recent ones have fell short for me but this one was enjoyable. At this moment Cobra is my favorite.

Do you check your trigger warnings because there is some heavy topics brought up especially abuse.

The main thing I did not like about this book which made me laugh. Every time that her abusers name is brought up, Dick. So whenever she would talk about him, it made it seem like she’s talking about the body part. Even in what was supposed to be a serious moment I would laugh just because the name being thrown out like that is just so jarring but other than that, it was an enjoyable book.

I'll give this about a 3.5 but rounding up for pure entertainment. I read BoH and I enjoy Jasmine's humor which is why I wanted to pick this up. It does feel a little familiar to BoH but maybe that's just me not reading enough fantasy WC books, who knows. The book is entertaining and I am excited to read the rest of the series.

Also, whoever is producing these audiobooks for her *chefs kiss* with the casting. Always a fun time.

Thanks so much to HTP, Jasmine and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this title. I attest that I am leaving my review voluntarily and honestly

I started this book and it seemed very familiar. With a bit of research I discovered it was originally published in 2022. I also started reading it in the Summer of 2022. LOL - As I recall, I had a hard time with the start of this. There was a lot of beating of children and I just couldn't stomach it. Sadly I did not finish reading it. The older I get the less I can tolerate even fiction where children or animals are hurt. Thank you for allowing me this preview and I wish Ms. Mas nothing but success.

This slow-burn, reverse harem story is both a coming-of-age story and a romance. From the first few pages I was hooked on our main character and her unbending will (and her slightly crazy personality, lol). The main male characters are hot, hot, hot (all 3 of them) and I found myself wishing that the slow-burn attraction between them would combust and ignite. Alas, I found myself still burning with the sexual tension this book provides at the end, and I immediately went and purchased Psycho Fae (the second novel in this series) so I could find out what happened to our main characters after the cliff hanger ending of this first novel.

You can tell that this seems to be an earlier work of Mas, the writing is a bit less smooth than that of the other novel I've read by her, yet this novel was still very enjoyable and I'm excited to start the next book in the series and find out what happened!

Spice level 3.5/5 (impeccable spice, but I wish there was more of it ;) )

(Also, I love that this is getting the sprayed edge treatment, I can't wait to get a physical copy on my bookcase to admire!)

Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and Jasmine Mas for letting me read an eARC of this novel prior to it being traditionally published.

That was so much fun! It felt like the very best side of AO3 and read very much like a serial story printed. It’s a unique omegaverse that felt much more romantasy than traditional shifter books and I have all sorts of theories about what happens next. I’m really curious to know how a certain alpha redeems himself and I want to watch Sadie continue to grow in her general badassery. So many of her quips and comments made me laugh out loud and I genuinely enjoyed her perspective.

I received an ARC through NetGalley in advance of the Harlequin acquisition and printing in exchange for my honest review and I’m so glad I did!
