Mac Dekker has traded the high-stakes world of espionage for a quiet life in a picturesque Swiss mountain town. Told by the CIA to keep a low profile and stay out of the spy game, he’s finally at peace. That is until a romantic getaway with his girlfriend, former Mossad agent Ava Attal, takes a devastating turn. During a leisurely lunch at the Eiffel Tower, Ava steps away to take a call and never returns.

In an instant, Mac is pulled back into the dangerous game he thought he left behind. To find the woman he loves, he must unravel a conspiracy that threatens to ignite chaos across the Middle East and ripple through the entire world.

This book delivers a refreshing twist on the spy thriller genre. Mac Dekker is not your typical hero. He is older, battle-worn, and carrying a fascinating history that adds depth to every decision he makes. The plot is gripping, layered with intrigue, and keeps you turning pages.
My only critique is that a significant portion of the story shifts focus away from Mac, following Ava as she uncovers the sinister plot. While this perspective adds context, I found myself missing Mac’s presence and hope to see more of him in the next installment.

If you’re searching for a spy thriller that breaks the mold and offers a compelling mix of action, suspense, and character-driven storytelling, this is an excellent choice.
