Cherami Leigh was the perfect choice to narrate, The Four Engagement Rings Of Sybil Rain. Just when I thought I couldn’t love this story more, I listened to it for a reread on audio. You really can’t go wrong with either option.
What a cute, summer beach read! It takes place at a tropical beach resort giving off all the fun, summer vibes. It’s lighthearted and cozy making it the perfect book to bring on your next vacation or even reading poolside. I love Hannah Brown’s writing style, it is beautiful, fresh and fun with just enough conflict to keep me turning the pages. The storyline had me interested right from the start. Sybil, a runaway bride runs into not one, but two of her ex-fiancés while at a tropical resort. Fake dating is one of my all time favorite tropes and brought so much humor and emotion to this story. I’m not usually a second chance romance girlie and definitely don’t love the miscommunication trope but I dunno, somehow it just worked with this one. Both main characters are likable and the character development was so well done. I am loving Hannah Brown’s books and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

First off, thank you to NetGalley, Forever and Hackett audio for the ARC audiobook!
This book made me realize how much I love a second chance romance! “The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain” had more depth than expected and I found my heart aching for Sybil more than once as she navigated seeing her ex-fiancés again, her insecurities, and past trauma. I listened to the audiobook (which was narrated so well!) and literally SCREAMED in frustration in my car multiple times when important moments between Sybil and her ex (I won’t spoil it and say which one) were thwarted. I also really loved the friendships of “the Core Four” because they added a really beautiful layer of friendship to the story beyond the romance. Truly such a great summer read!
Ultimately, this book made me want to do two things:
1) Get back to Maui STAT 🌺🌴
2) Read Hannah Brown’s other fiction 💖📖🌹
If you’re a romance reader, do yourself a favor and pick up this book for the summer!

This was a fun and cute 2nd chance romance with a lot of fun banter. Not much spice, and more focused around deeper and bigger issues. I got an advanced copy of the audio version this from NetGalley and I enjoyed the narration. There were a few subplots that I didn't really understand or get why they were there except to give more depth for the characters. It felt like a movie I've seen before, but it wasn't bad. A fast paced rom-com if you want something light.

Sweet and adorable rom-com that would be perfect for the Hallmark channel. Quick beach read that I think would be perfect for younger people on up. Has a lot of feel good vibes. The audiobook narration sounds very young so it feels like the intended audience is early 20’s. It stays in that lane very well. Nothing wrong with the book but there is a predictable quality to it.

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is a heartfelt, breezy rom-com with a strong emotional core. While a few parts of the story felt a little repetitive or slow, I still found myself rooting for Sybil and enjoying the second-chance romance and self-discovery themes. It’s a great summer listen! Light, funny, and with just enough emotional depth to keep you hooked.
Cherami Leigh’s narration was a standout. She brought Sybil’s voice to life with warmth and nuance, and her performance added charm and clarity to each character. The production quality was excellent it was clear, well-paced, and easy to get lost in.
A solid 4-star audiobook experience. Perfect for fans of second chances, solo getaways, and rom-coms with a little chaos and a lot of heart.
Thank you to Hannah Brown, Hachette Audio, and NetGalley for the ARC audiobook.

3.5 rounded up to a 4
If she says “a laugh bubbles out of me” one more time, I am throwing this audiobook out the window.
But regardless, this book surpassed my low expectations. I enjoyed listening to it - although I didn’t love how the narrator portrayed any female voice that wasn’t Sybil.
The introduction of Sebastian midway through the book was desperately needed as things were getting slow.
All in all, an enjoyable summer read I would recommend someone to bring to the beach or read out by the pool.
Thank you to NetGalley for the audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Tbh I didn’t like this book and probably the problem is me I always don’t like second chance romance for a reason I don’t know I didn’t like the characters I felt they were surface level for me I didn’t get the depth I wanted we were always in what is happening not what happened I felt I wanted more backstory I don’t like the aspect when the characters were together then they separated for some reason and then suddenly they are talking after years of not talking it just doesn’t make sense for me I like when characters don’t have history with each other and I am talking about second chance generally not this book specifically
Thank you NetGalley for the ALC 🩵

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain by Hannah Brown was a pleasant surprise. Initially, I was not sure if I should apply to read/listen this story or not. That many engagement rings had me a little worried if I would like Sybil and feel for her or be annoyed by her and not make it very far into the story.
This story was so sweet. Sybil and Jamie had great chemistry. It was a beautiful second chance romance. While there was some inuendo and prompts of what was to come, it was not a super spicy romance. Sybil’s friends were also a nice part of the story. I felt like I was one of them by the end, cheering Sybil on. A group of supportive friends that someone would love to have. My only “annoyance” is the lack of communication between the characters sometimes. It makes for a more interesting story, but that is a personal pet peeve of mine. The ending was so satisfying, and I loved the lessons and path Sybil chooses for herself.
Some of the themes might be uncomfortable for some readers like infertility, mental health, and more. Make sure to research those for yourself first.
The narration by Cherami Leigh was incredibly done. She perfectly captured Sybil’s chaotic self. Her voices for the support characters were also well done. She captured the nuances of what was being said and conveyed. My only critique was how she pronounced conch.
I received an advanced audiobook from Hachette Audio through NetGalley and Libro.FM. All opinions are 100% my own.

Fake dating and second chance romance, two of my favorite tropes all in one book, yet uniquely brings them together in a Rom-com that will keep you guessing till the end! I enjoyed Hannah Brown’s first book and literally could not wait to read her second installment of this series. It didn’t disappoint! Sybil’s story is funny, heartbreaking, and honest. It was easy to settle into the story because Sybil’s experiences and emotions throughout her life are really relatable. The author’s do a great job of capturing the genuine growth of Sybil from her high school self to who she is now.
I listened to the audiobook for this read and could not stop listening. I usually struggle with audiobooks, constantly having to back up the story because I zoned out and missed too much. That did not happen in this book. The reader’s voice is engaging and dynamic, full of emotion and inflection that draws you in and made it easy to listen. There is a good distinction between character’s voices during dialogue and you really feel as if Sybil is the one narrating her story in real time.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Second chances at love, beautiful Hawaii setting, romantic comedy, adventurous vibes and a great summer read!
Sybil is trying to find herself again after a hard year following a failed engagement. She decides to use the vacation vouchers meant for her honeymoon to escape and try to have a quiet get away, however the universe had some other plans when she runs into her ex-fiancé at the same resort.
This story was such a cute second chance romance with rom com feels and some fake dating. There is a bit of a miscommunication trope which is not my favorite... But I felt like this was a really cute page turning story. The Character development in this book was really good. This is a great summer read!
The narrator was really great to listen to. I fell like I could hear the emotion in different places when it was needed.
Thank you Hachette Audio for the ALC!

I received an advanced audio copy of this book from Net Galley and it was such a great summer read (or listen)! It chronicled the love stories of Sybil Rain. We started out in present day and then had flashbacks of her previous failed engagements.
Since her vouchers were to expire, Sybil went on her planned honeymoon a year after her third failed wedding. Imagine her surprise when she finds her ex-fiance, Jamie, there as well. He's with a beautiful woman he claims is his business colleague! Throughout the book, we learn of Jamie & Sybil's relationship, the good and bad, as well as her relationships with the other two fiances. One of them, Seb, actually shows up to the resort as well causing some tension.
I really enjoyed this book. The character development was great. The narration was good as well. I enjoyed the authenticity of the emotions in this book. You could feel the love and agony and I was definitely cheering for Sybil. I think there was also some self realization for Sybil too, and I loved that for her.
Thank you so much Net Galley, Hannah Brown and publisher for this advanced listen - i was so glad to get it and I know it will be a hot summer read!!!

The mystery that was Sybil Rain is solved! I had a great time listening to this audiobook and felt like all the things that feel flat for me in 'The Mistakes We Never Made' were done a lot better. There were more details to the past and present as well as depth to the fmc, Sybil and male characters Jamie and Sebastian.
Summer vibes and second chance romance(s) as well as a strong female friend group made this book entertaining. I wish I could be as independent at times as Sybil seems because going on a vacation alone sounds as magical as it sounds terrifying to me.
There are some heavier topics surrounding fertility, PCOS and miscarriage as well as past relationship trama that I felt were done in a sensitive and thoughtful way.

I was drawn in by this beautiful cover. It’s so colourful! The story was sweet. No notes! A wonderful summer read

This was my first Hannah Brown book, and whew—what a ride! I listened to the audiobook and absolutely loved it. The narration was top-tier—5/5. The narrator brought Sybil and the rest of the characters to life so well, I felt like I was right there in the middle of her story.
This book is the definition of a fun, feel-good rom-com with real emotional depth. It’s a quick, beachy read that touches on heartbreak, self-sabotage, family pressure, and learning how to be comfortable in your own skin.
Sybil Rain is one year post–canceled wedding, and her best friends stage a “friendtervention” (yes, I’m obsessed with that word 😂) to shake her out of her funk. They encourage her to take her would-be honeymoon trip to Hawaii—solo—to find closure and maybe a fresh start. But of course, in true rom-com fashion, a few of her exes pop up and things get real interesting.
What I loved most about this book was how raw and relatable it felt. Sybil’s thought process, her emotional struggles, her doubts—it was all so real. Her journey of healing and self-discovery made the story feel like more than just a typical rom-com. Plus, it was funny as hell in all the right places.
I didn’t realize this was connected to another book, but it totally reads like a standalone, so you can jump in without missing a beat. If you're looking for a light, funny, yet meaningful summer rom-com with heart—this is the one. Highly recommend, especially on audio!
Thanks to Hachette Audio, Hannah Brown, and NetGalley for the audiobook.

A fun romcom. beach read about love, healing and loving yourself first. A wonderful and cute story set in a beautiful Hawaii. When Sybil and Jamie wedding is called off they both have credit from their honeymoon. A year later, Sybil decides to go before it expires. Unbeknowst to her Jamie planned a getaway for a different reason during the same time. Sybil and Jamie haven’t seen each other since the day of their explosive argument, when she literally ran from the altar. Their reunion had so much potential for tension and emotion, all that unresolved stuff between them. Sybil, as a main character, was intense and quite a lot to take in, although there was never a dull moment. The book relies heavily on the miscommunication trope, with both Sybil and Jamie being dishonest, not just with each other but also with themselves. Jamie was equally intriguing, seemingly shaped by what was expected of him by his family, something we learn through Sybil’s narration of the past. A year later, he seems to be trying to live more for himself, rather than for his parents or even his sister. Interesting how family interferes with love. I enjoyed the story and the items that touched my own story. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and Forever Grand Central Publishing

This book was an adventure and such a perfect follow up from the first book, Mistakes We Never Made. You can read this one as a standalone. The first book was about two other characters, but dealt with the runaway bride Sybil Rain and the adventure the bridesmaid and best man went on to find her. This book picks up after that timeframe and fills in the storyline to what happened that wedding day to cause her to run and her past loves. It was a fun, cute, adventure rom-com and perfect summer beach read.
The audiobook was narrated by Cherami Leigh. She brought all the emotion to Sybil’s character!! She had various voices for the other characters. I thought the audiobook was such a good and easy listen.

I listened to the audiobook version of this novel. I liked the cover as it is eye catching and different. I have to be honest, I wish I had read the book first instead of listening to the audiobook version. I struggled with the voice of the narrator's as Sybil. I felt it was a bit over the top at times and it made me view Sybil as a spoiled, annoying, immature brat. I wonder if I would have formed the same opinion had I read the book myself before hearing the audio. The plot is a bit too far fetched to be believable. I really struggled to stay engaged and not be annoyed by Sybil's words and actions. I realize that I might be in the minority, but for me, this was a miss. I have not read any other books by this author so I am unable to compare to others. As other readers have said, it gives very much "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" vibes. If you are a fan of this author, you might like this book. However, this was my honest opinion. Thank you to Hannah Brown, Hachette Audio, and NetGalley for the ARC audiobook.

Thank you NetGalley and Forever for this ARC. Fun and quick paced beach read with good character development, I just wasn’t that invested in the story.

This was precious!! I love a good second chance romance. Hannah is quickly becoming one of my favorite romance authors.

I loved this book! I am a big fan and was excited for Hannah's debut novel last year but was really missing the full story for why Sybil was running from her own wedding for the entire first book. This follow up is messy and heartfelt and hopeful and yearny and all kinds of love triangle second chance romance satisfying. And it ultimately answers all those questions the readers are left with in her debut. It was a super fun listen and the narrator did a GREAl Job. She really brought Sybil to life and made her a fully realized person to me. I fully recommend!
