I liked this story way more than I thought I would. Was it a well written masterpiece? No. Did I still eat this story up? Absolutely 😆
This gives the type of CW vibes (with some HBO level spice) where you can’t help but keep binging the story. There were definitely some things that felt too modern but it wasn’t an overwhelming amount. I enjoyed the premise a lot, I did guess a few things but I honestly think that it’s just because I read so much fantasy.
The narrators were INCREDIBLE. I absolutely love a duet narration but in this we get different narrators for all of the MC’s which brings the audio book to a whole other level. The narration was so fluid and really brings you into the story. I think that I may not have enjoyed the book as much as I did if I had just read it. The audio was truly amazing.
I can’t wait for the next one to come out! This cast did such an amazing job.
If you enjoyed Ruthless Boys and Zodiac Academy, you’ll love this book. It has the bully element from ZA with the why choose element in Ruthless Boys coupled the shifters and different worlds that you see in both.
Although this is very similar to Ruthless Boys and ZA, it doesn’t take away from the overall enjoyment of the story.
Thank you NetGalley for this audio ARC in exchange for an honest review

Woooa I was not expecting to enjoy this one nearly as much as I did. This is a very cool fantasy omega verse why choose crossover. The writer has me engaged right from the get go and found the world building to be easy but not underdone. It had me laughing out loud and was an overall entertaining read. I am very excited to go to book 2, can't wait to continue the story!

4.5

I finished this in one go. I was hooked and quickly so.

I can not wait to marathon the rest of the series.

The narration was fantastic and if I wasn't antsy for more I would probably be waiting for each audiobook to release.

I ate this book up! I loved Jasmine Mas’s writing. Her female characters are always so witty and lovable. And this book was no different. The audio for this book was perfect!I even enjoyed the dynamic between “Princess” and the Alphas. I did not see the twist coming at all. The ending did feel a little rushed and that’s the only reason it wasn’t a 5 star read. Can’t wait to dive into the next book.

Psycho shifters

Sadie and Lucinda are sisters that belong to a Beta warrior, Dick, after being abandoned in his tavern as young kids. Trying to survive in the shifter realm as a weak and powerless null.

Sadie turns out to be a super rare soldier shifter. She gets removed from being under control of Dick and has three new, huge, and 🔥roommates. They doubt her, no one believes her strength and abilities, and she’s okay with that. That means she can keep her secrets.

I’ve been wanting to read this so glad I got early access to the audio version! Big fan of the author and I was all in on this from the first chapter. Loved the duet narration as well, big fan! This was a quick and wild read, entertaining but the writing isn’t earth shattering, think Zodiac Academy/ Ruthless Boy

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the ALC in exchange for an honest review. Audiobook release date 6/24/25!

The first time that I read this in KU (2022) I wasn't really doing full out reviews - Just giving out stars.

The second time I got the ALC and said "Yes! I remember liking that one."

So here is my second read through review - I enjoyed this a lot! Nothing has changed there.

Sadie - a new alpha female - SURPRISE - the FIRST female alpha ever gets tested, classified, and whisked away to a fort where she is thrust into training and under suspicion. The Beta Warriors are constantly belittling her and talking down to her while her fellow Alphas Shifters are wary, mean, and difficult.

She's thrust into a new world trying to find her footing while still dealing with previous trauma. This poor woman can not catch a break and while she has found some friendships she is constantly being attacked.

The pacing in this is super quick and things escalate and escalate until the end and it definitely keeps you on the toes. It's spicy in the sense that they don't shy away from sex scenes or throwing the FMC in situations were she is set to observe, but she doesn't actually participate in this book (if I remember correctly it does get main character-spicy in the following books)

I enjoyed the setting. It's a mix of paranormal/modern elements that make it a fun read. There's cellphones and machine guns, but their also fighting these massive fae creatures that come through portals to attack the realm. They have tv broadcasts and nightclubs mixed with ABO dynamics, shifters, and magical pools that classify your status. It's definitely interesting.

The audiobook is *chefs kiss* It has a stacked cast of narrators and it's a duet which is super cool. I loved the FMC narrator. Her delivery was quirky and fun. The male narrators were good too though the audio for Jaxon's narrator seemed to be at a slower speed than the rest.

I’m so glad I had the opportunity to listen and read Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Mas 💜 thank you to the hive & htp books and htp audio ✨

The audio made the story 10x better! All 4 narrators did a fantastic job and we had a good line up guys! We had Mollie Stark, Teddy Hamilton, Jaime Lincoln Smith, and Jeremy York. They all did so well especially in between scenes with each other 🔥

This is a dark, omegaverse fantasy book with some Bully romance, forced proximity, slow burn and we got shifters! Like hot male Alpha shifters 🔥 they are called psycho for a reason 😮‍💨 I will say Cobra was by far my favorite in this story!

Please check your trigger warnings before reading this book as some things might not be a favorite to others!

Overall, I was here for the vibes! It was catchy and fun personally to me and I think this is just what I needed in the moment as it is a quick read and was a good book for me to end the month with 📖✨

If you’re looking for a book who are shifters and 3 hot alpha men that are confused whether to hate the FMC or are utterly obsessed with her and don’t know what to do with themselves, with some humor, then this book will be for you!

A wattpad story gone trad is the best way to describe this.

The world is cool, the war is intense, but the writing is super repetitive. If i had a dollar for every time the FMC was called “small” or “like a little girl,” i would be rich. 😂

Her POV was rough to get through, and one of the male characters is a walking red flag who calls every woman a slut.

This is definitely fun if you want an unhinged reverse harem drama. Just know that when you go into this one.. it’s a little cringe.

This was absolutely everything that I could have wanted from Jasmine Mas. I laughed. I laughed some more. This is. This was a series that I know had been previously independently published and had been picked up. I heard people talk about it, but I had not yet gotten to it and I’m kicking myself for that. This has been revised and I will say going over the old version versus the new version. They’re both spectacular, but this is just polished even more. It’s exactly what you expect from her witty, the FMC is snarky, small but mighty. Normally, in these types of books, you would expect them to be a omegas, but this one is a small but mighty alpha. I loved absolutely ever second.
The audiobook… what a performance! I know it’s always going to be fantastic when Teddy Hamilton is involved but the rest of the cast really shined. Mollie Stark was quirky and brought a stellar performance! I can’t wait to listen to more audiobook performances by all of the cast members of this audiobook. And I can’t wait to binge the rest of this series as if they come out.
Thank you to HTP and Harlequin audio for the complimentary copies. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

From tortured servant to playing war soldier. ⚔️

After barely surviving 20 excruciating years at the hands of a ruthless Beta and coming from nothing, Sadie finds herself immersed into a world of shifters, fae, and thrust side by side with three monstrous, god-like Alphas who are tatted, jeweled, and horned.

I read the Cruel Shiftverse series by Jasmine Mas years ago, but now having a go at the audiobook thanks to my besties at The Hive and NetGalley! Narrated by a group of wonderful people - Millie Stark, Jaime Lincoln Smith, Teddy Hamilton, and Jeremy York; I truly feel as if they emulated their characters well! The emotion and playfulness with which they portrayed them was so enthusiastic and easy to follow.

Jasmine Mas clearly knows how to write some badass characters, let alone a hilarious FMC like Sadie. Her inner monologue reminds me so much of Alexis from her other book, Blood of Hercules. I can easily imagine them becoming the best of friends! Nyx would have a field day with Sadie’s baby snake.

If you’re into shifters & fae, war academy, an enemies to lovers/why-choose romance, and even spicier scenes, you NEED this on your TBR 🤌🏼

Favorite quote ❤️‍🔥

Thank the gods I was a homicidal maniac and still numb. - Sadie

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️.5

I really enjoyed this book. It has enough of the paranormal, mystery, strong FMC, and why choose vibes to balance out the plot.

I did listen to the audiobook, and I love that it was a full cast. Teddy Hamilton can make me enjoy almost any audiobook.

This book does end on a cliffhanger! So definitely be prepared for that. I do want to read the next one. It was starting to get very good at the end where I wanted the story to add more.

I have read quite a few shifter romances and the more recent ones have fell short for me but this one was enjoyable. At this moment Cobra is my favorite.

Do you check your trigger warnings because there is some heavy topics brought up especially abuse.

The main thing I did not like about this book which made me laugh. Every time that her abusers name is brought up, Dick. So whenever she would talk about him, it made it seem like she’s talking about the body part. Even in what was supposed to be a serious moment I would laugh just because the name being thrown out like that is just so jarring but other than that, it was an enjoyable book.

I'll give this about a 3.5 but rounding up for pure entertainment. I read BoH and I enjoy Jasmine's humor which is why I wanted to pick this up. It does feel a little familiar to BoH but maybe that's just me not reading enough fantasy WC books, who knows. The book is entertaining and I am excited to read the rest of the series.

Also, whoever is producing these audiobooks for her *chefs kiss* with the casting. Always a fun time.

Thanks so much to HTP, Jasmine and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this title. I attest that I am leaving my review voluntarily and honestly

First book in the dark and twisted Cruel Shifterverse Trilogy. Sadie is a kickass heroine that is orphaned at a young age finally finds her freedom after realizing she is an alpha shifter warrior… but can she survive boot camp and her three alpha warriors…Jax, Cobra, and Asher? I absolutely devoured every word in this book! The angsty extreme enemies to lovers was epic. The narrators could make chills go down your spine one minute only to make you melt with their velvet tongues! This is a why choose with morally gray alpha heros with some steamy situations! I loved it and Highly recommend! Jasmine Mas is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!
