Fair Helen is a beautiful historical novel, a bit hard to read for me, as I'm not used to this type of writing. I love Scottish lore, and that's what drew me in, but you have to have some poetry love for this one, not to mention a rich vocabulary. I'd recommend this one to romantic souls, with a penchant for everything Scottish.
