Paula Castillo's university career began with a small lie to her parents about having friends that later became a massive one when she changed from business to journalism without telling them. Then a source accuses her of lying and her boyfriend breaks up with her on the same day. Paula sees her life disintegrate before it even began. When she's given the chance to restore her journalistic reputation a year later, she almost turns it down when she discovers that it's a profile on her ex, the university's top soccer player, rich and famous, Henry Pressley. After a year of avoiding him, the one-on-one interviews force them to face their joint past, and that maybe there's hope the second time around.

Paula's tendency to not make decisions for herself and let others walk all over her unless it has to do with journalism was a tough detail to get over, and why I didn't give this book the full five-star rating. It is otherwise a great story about finding yourself and working towards your dreams no matter the setback.
The chemistry between Paula and Henry practically sets the page on fire, so you know they'll find their way back to each other. I enjoyed the way Mae gives us little glimpses into the past and how things fell apart for them as we see how they're getting back together in the present. It's a good way to show where the conflicts began and highlight the characters' growth.

Very happy thanks to NetGalley and LYX for the romantic read!
