I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

This is the second book in a series which I didn't realize. Difficult to read and review without reading the first.

Firstly, although this is noted as Book 2 in the series, I didn't feel as though I missed out by not reading Book 1 (which is by a different author). That said, it's possible that the world building experience might be enhanced by reading book 1, but I think that the author does a pretty good job of setting the scene.

I have to say, this is a great story. The plot line is intriguing, the pacing is good and the characters are complex. That, coupled with the threat and sense of hopelessness which increases as the story develops, really combine to emphasise the desperate situation which Quanta and Tair ultimately find themselves in.
I really found myself rooting for this couple to succeed in their endeavours, and the ending certainly left me wanting more.

Highly enjoyable.

I voluntarily reviewed a Reviewer copy of this book.
