Neil Pasricha has been looking for happiness for himself and has been interested in understanding what makes others happy. This book was born in a very inspiring way: when he was on his honeymoon, his wife told him that she was pregnant, then he began to write in the mornings to his unborn child, letters about happiness, wanted to give him a handbook of actions from his deepest longing: his son to be happy.
This book contains: exercises, inspirational anecdotes, hand-sketched doodles, grafs, a poster and various quotes. He himself thinks that happiness is a choice that can make the difference to improve our lives and relationships if we cultivate it.
The equation of happiness is unique to each personality and I think it has a lot to do with the deep ambitions of our heart and our true nature. Some of the ideas in this book that resonate with me are, for example, Secret 1, where he mentions that feeling happy, happy, content can lead you to success. In the same chapter invites us to practice gratitude, mindfulness, kindness, etc., which in my point of view are attitudes that connect us with our true Being, which in essence is Bliss, Consciousness and Love (Sat-Chit-Ananda according to Buddhist traditions). Other concepts that seem to me very coherent are to keep the balance and growth, since life, spirit and forces of the universe have this same nature, are constantly expanding and balancing. Likewise, I found these concepts associated with the capacity to empower ourselves through challenges, to realize ourselves, to be the best we can become and contribute to the world; what for me is the highest expression of the truth and passion of our hearts.
My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book
