I am kind of confused about what age group this book was for... The illustrations say preschoolers, but the text grade schooler... I suppose the parent or teacher reading the book to a small child can condense the text a bit for would be young pilots! Or an older child could just ignore the illustrations and find heaven just reading about what pilots do. At any rate, the book is pretty detailed and young plane enthusiasts will probably delight in the reading of it! The illustrations, while wonderful, really seemed not fitted for this book.
