When Annie Denning discovers her brothers best friend is back in town she's mixed with emotions. The pre-puberty friend was more a thorn than a sexy book boyfriend.
Wes Hartley delivered a stellar debut novel but now the readers want more and he's left with a bit of a writers block. If he can find a muse, perhaps he might figure out a way to secure his future and deliver another successful book.
In this brothers best friend trope Annie finds out there the one man she shouldn't want is the only man who will satisfy her.
Are happy endings strictly fairy tale and only in books? What will happen when Annie discovers that the life she thought she'd had wasn't exactly the fairy tale imagined.
A spicy story with a hero who finally discovers that he is worthy of love, that his decisions might influence others around him but ultimately he can only control his own path.
A beautiful story of love, hope, and forgiveness.

What happens when your life is all about romance books and you think that every relationship should be like what you read in those books? You set yourself up for failure is what happens.
And that's exactly what Annie has been experiencing all her adult life. Her relationships have been just okay, nothing spectacular because she has set the bar so incredibly high that no one can ever reach it.
Wes has the exact opposite problem; he doesn't believe in happy ever after and doesn't see himself ever settling down. Wes and Annie couldn't want more different things, yet a date at a mutual friends wedding could change everything.
LOVED the characters in this story! The author did an amazing job of making the characters come to life and giving them all the depth they needed. While this is the first book in this series that I have read it's obvious that characters from previous books in the series are brought back. However I didn't feel lost at all with those characters.

This book just wasn't for me. I was unable to connect with the characters and storyline.

I loved that this is a romance about a bookstore owner/blogger and a writer. Annie lives and breathes romance novels and is convinced her hero and happily ever after is out there somewhere. Wes did not set out to write a romance book, and while Annie does not consider his book to be a romance, the book community sees it as one. Just as his character in the book does not believe in happy endings, Wes is serial dater that refuses to believe he has more to offer than his time in bed. This sets the tone for the beginning of their relationship, but pretty soon they are both learning things about themselves that they had never considered. Three simple words have the power to change their lives, but they must each have the courage to go for their happy...beginning. Overall a sweet and sexy read that can be read as a standalone.
If you're an avid romance reader and reviewer, this ridiculously sweet and sexy story should be just the thing for you. How could it not?! We have a romance writer and a bookstore owner/blogger as our MCs!! :) I devoured every single word in this book in mere hours. IT WAS FUN and it put a HUGE smile on my face :)
I was really afraid this book would turn out to be way too cliche but A.J. Pine turned all those typical tropes into something unique and fun with relatable characters that you just can't help but like and root for. This is one series you are going to want to dive into from beginning to end because every book has been outstanding!

I have Three Simple Words for you guys about this book...download it NOW!
No seriously, this one ticked every single one of the boxes for me, and it was such an enjoyable read that I couldn't put it down start to finish. I've never read A.J. Pine before finding this one on NetGalley, and let me tell you this will not be the last. In fact, I'm going to backtrack and read the previous books while I look out for the next release. This book even had the honor of being added to my favorite book list, so that alone should tell you all a little something about how much I adored it!
Annie and Wes had their own issues to overcome, both avoided real relationships for example without revealing any spoilers, but neither of them realized that finding the right person could change all of their preconceived notions. From the engaging plot to the fun cast of characters, Three Simple Words really had it all. It was witty, sexy, fun, and just so incredibly good! I could probably gush more, but I'm just going to say again that if you enjoy a cute romantic comedy with a bit of heat thrown in, then you are going to love this one just as much as I did. Promise!
