I can't imagine being immortal, but being immortal knowing because of your, your brother is doomed to be asleep forever is beyond Hell on Earth. Zander is much stronger than I could ever be..

Rena could never find a family to call her own. How lonely. Now that she has Zander, she has a family and much more.

I can't wait for Zed's story!!!

I really had trouble getting into the book initially and getting caught up in the emotions of the characters. The storyline was good, but it just didn’t stand out in my mind amongst other books in the genre. The blurb was great, but overall the book just fell flat for me.

I have waited and wished for this series to return for a long time now, and though it is technically a spin-off series, we did get to meet up with some old friends and see more of the Amoveo legend I have come to love. The original series introduced a group of shape-shifters, following a legend that was extremely unique and I loved that entire series and was so sad to hear it was ending, so when I ran across this story in the catalog I’m not afraid to admit I squealed like a little girl. Not only am I a huge fan of all of Ms. Humphreys works, I am THRILLED that she was able to return to this world and introduce an all new set of characters. This story began about 500 years ago, when Zander and his brother Zed were cursed, leaving Zed trapped in dragon form deep below ground, and Zander was cursed to travel the world with no end to either his curse or his life in sight. The curse’s time limit for saving himself and his brother is coming to an end, quickly, when Zander connects in the dream realm with the woman that he thinks can save them both, his brother’s mate. Tracking her down is the easy part, but convincing her to help him will be a lot more complicated. Rena runs a private investigator’s agency, using her special gift to help her become one of the most successful in her profession. When the dangerous and deadly looking Zander arrives in her office one afternoon the connection between them immediately pulls at her, but the task he wants her to undertake is going to be near to impossible, especially when she can tell that he is lying to her. Willing to give him a bit of leeway, Rena sets off with Zander to find a way to help him find his brother, but as the truth of his mission unfolds, the danger and passion that circle them is increasingly volatile. It’s obvious to Rena that she and Zander are destined to be together, even if he claims she belongs to his brother—if she’s going to be anyone’s mate, it will be Zander. But as their time runs out, a deadly enemy from Zander’s past, someone that Rena never imagined would be a danger to her, returns to take his ultimate revenge on the brothers, unless Rena and Zander can prevent it. I LOVED Rena. She was a kickass, sexy, smart heroine and I haven’t met a character so well written and developed in a long while. Zander was obviously a complicated guy, but once he stopped denying the truth right in front of him, he became the hero he was always destined to be. The heat and passion between this foxy lady and sexy dragon was off the charts hot, and I often wondered if they were going to set the world around them aflame. I was thrilled that they were able to find a way to reach their HEA and admit the love that developed between them, but mostly I enjoyed seeing them working together to work through their problems and overcome all obstacles. I cannot wait for book 2, which will hopefully be Zed’s story, where he might finally meet his own true mate. I hope there are many more in this series to come and that Sara is able to keep the world of the Amoveo alive, in one form or another, for a long time to come. Another sensual masterpiece, filled with drama, emotional turmoil and the angst of a man denying his destiny and a woman trying to grab hers and hold on with both hands. Great work, Sara!

You don't read a lot of dragon shape shifters, but Ms.Humphreys did a great job a bringing their story to life. Very intriguing with strong characters, can't wait to read the next one in the series.

Undiscovered is the first book in the Amoveo Rising series by Sara Humphreys, which is a spin off and continuation of the Amoveo Legend series. If you have read the previous series you will be at an advantage, but readers new to this world will be able to catch up quickly and enjoy the story.

A long time ago, Zander Lorens was cursed to walk the earth stripped of his Dragon Clan powers. Every night, trapped in a recurring nightmare, Zander relives his darkest moment. He can hardly believe it when the dream changes and a beautiful young woman appears. Zander believes she's the key to ending his torment. Finding her in the real world is one thing, but how will he convince her of who-and what-she really is? Rena McHale uses her unique sensitivity as a private investigator, touting herself as a "human divining rod" and finder of the lost. By day she struggles with sensory overload, and by night her sleep is haunted by a fiery dragon shifter. Nothing in her life makes sense, until the man from her dreams shows up at her door with a proposition.

Undiscovered has a good mix of character and story development. I like that both Zander and Rena have their own issues and stories, and that Rena has some sense of self preservation- even if she does run off with a random guy for a case, money, and answers. Zander's punishing of himself for his role in what has happened gets a little old, and Rena's almost perfection does wear a little thin after awhile. However, I like that they are fairly honest with each other, if not everyone else or themselves. I really liked how they came to terms with their own desires, but found that they came together almost too easily. I did think that the story was likely just the groundwork to start of the new series, and to connect it to the previous stories. However, despite its faults it did make for a diverting read while my kids made the attempt to drive me insane over April vacation.

Undiscovered is an entertaining urban fantasy. It has the balance of good writing, adventure, and romance that I have come to expect from the other books I have read by Humphreys. Not earth shatteringly wonderful, but an engaging read to escape into and enjoy.

Rena prayed they wouldn't see her this time as she was behind a tree. She hoped things would turn out different but she knew different. They would find her and kill her then she would wake up, terrified and drowning in pain just after being swallowed in flames. Rena screamed over and over again and screamed not again please help me I can’t take it anymore. But this time the flames didn’t come. Rena pushed herself up on shaky legs. Then the earth started to shake again , the thunderous footsteps of monsters. Then Rena heard a man whisper “ run”. Rena heard his voice was filled with urgency. “ Run , woman run!! Every since Rena could remember she had been able to detect the invisible trail left behind by all living creatures. She could find anyone on the planet simply by connecting with their spirit streams. She had never found one in a dream before because she had to touch an object that the other person had held in order to connect. But then again this had not been a regular dream more like a reoccurring nightmare. The man told her to move unless she enjoyed getting fried like a chicken. Rena now ran toward the other worldly red light. If she followed the spirit stream it would lead her to safety Rena didn’t know how she knew she just did. In her gut Rena knew whoever was talking to her was basically good. Spirit streams possessed the essence of the person they belonged to . You must go to him and find the others like yourself. The Amoveo can help you and him. He must be awakened by his mate . it’s the only way to break the curse and we are almost out of time. If you don’t reach reach him by all Hallows Eve he will be trapped here forever First Rena said what curse and who are the Amoveo and second there are no others like me. I am a total freak ask any of my foster families I lived with and they will confirm it. He asked you don’t know about the Amoveo - how is that possible? Then Rena said that this fit in with the rest of her weird life. Then Rena asked who he was. He said he had never encountered one like you before then he told Rena to pick up the stone. Then Rena said that is a weird name and he told her pick it up! We don’t have time to waste not anymore. The minute Rena picked up the red quartz the cave erupted in light . Zander/Zane had hope for the first time in centuries that the curse might be broken. Zander had Isadora’s number in his phone it was the only non business related number in his phone. Isadora wasn’t a friend but an old witch and one of her sisters had cursed Zane and his brother Zed so long ago. Over the years even with the history between their family’s Isadora had become a trusted acquaintance. She was powerful and if she had wanted to hurt Zane she could have one hundred different times . Isadora was his only surviving connection with the supernatural world. Than Zane called Isadora that he had found Rena in the dream realm and that Arianna was gone and a different woman had taker her place. Zed had spoke he had said mine and said the same word over and over again. Then Isadora was there with Zane and said she thought they should talk in person. Zander had been trapped in human form for five hundred years and his brother Zed in dragon form in an eternal nightmare for them. Zed thought this woman was his mate and she was Amoveo which was an ancient clan of shapeshifters similar to the dragon clan in many ways , they find their mates in the dream realm and once they connect they could find each other on the physical plane. She was discovered to be from the fox clan Isadora told him humans and Amoveo could mate and most of them didn’t know what they were. The ten clans were now all fighting among themselves. Rena was a private investigator a kindly man had taken her in and taught her all she knew about being a private investigator. He was the only family Rena had ever known. Then Rena had been having dreams about someone she had never met until he came into her office to hire her to help his brother. There are tasks Rena and Zane must do to free Zed.
I really enjoyed this story and it had a different twist. I loved the relationship between Rena and Zane. This had a good plot and was well written. This was a great read filled with tension and suspense. I like how Zane helped Rena to escape the monsters and there was even some humor. I liked Isadora also who didn’t try nor want to hurt Zane or Zed unlike her sister. I loved the characters and ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

The intense opening to this fast-paced paranormal shifter romance by author Sara Humphreys kept me reading this book in one sitting. I loved the Amoveo. I have read other books by this author before I started writing book reviews so I am familiar with many of the Amoveo people in this story and I loved, loved all those books. This book did not disappoint me. It was amazing to read and purely entertaining.

Rena kind of broke my heart. She was so broken in many ways while being very strong and dedicated to her profession and longtime friend and mentor Vito. I liked the way the author built her character up throughout the book showing that even though she was broken that she was a survivor and strong.

Zander's history is bleak and sad but also like Rena he was broken though one couldn't see it. I felt the author's explanation and presentation of his curse was done to perfection and created the additional intrigue necessary to keep this story moving quickly.

This book will bring out a lot of emotions and the reader will not be bored at any time throughout the book. The dream sequences are dramatic, memorable and well plotted. I do like the fact that at no time did I or could I guess the ending. In fact, the ending did take me by surprise to some extent creating a desire for me to read the next book to this series.

I give this 5 STARS for not being predictable.

I have read several books by Sara Humphreys and I love her paranormal interpretations, especially when it comes to vampires and shapeshifters. In Undiscovered, she continues her intriguing interpretations of shapeshifters that she calls Amoveo as well as an introduction to a rare species of Dragon shapeshifters.

Zander Lorens has lived in utter agony for the past 500 years because of a curse that made him immortal yet unable to use his Dragon powers. Plus, his twin brother has been stuck in hibernation for 500 years. They both have been cursed to re-live a tragic event every night of their existence. A chance encounter with a woman named Rena McHale during one of these dreams leads Zander on a path to end the curse and free both himself and his brother, Zed. Unbeknownst to Rena, she is part Amoveo and has some amazing abilities yet to be discovered although she does use one gift as a private investigator. She can locate anyone just by touching something that belongs to them. When Zander locates Rena in Las Vegas, he opens her up to an entire new world and also opens up her heart. Unfortunately, Zander is convinced that Rena is meant to be his brother Zed’s mate so he denies the strong attraction that he has to her. Rena, on the other hand, has other plans and insists that fate can’t determine who she falls in love with.

It was interesting to watch Rena find out what she really is after living her life as an orphan and believing that she was some sort of freak. However, it was painful to see how Zander has been literally tortured for centuries and has taken the blame for everything that happened to him and his brother. I will also have to say that parts of the book were a little too predictable. I wish that Sara had thrown in a plot twist or two but I still enjoyed the book. Rena and Zander were good for each other.

Zander and Rena are drawn together in the dream land. Zander see her as the cure to the cures and Rena sees him as the source of her nightmare. Avid Reader – ☆☆☆
M/F Shapeshifter Romance

I normally enjoy shifter books and while this one wasn't my favorite, it wasn't due to the shifting aspect.

Rena is a great character. She doesn't really take crap from anyone and likes to do her own thing. She's survived through a gift she didn't really know she possessed and is running a very successful business. I think she is fairly naive when it comes to her own self-gifts, as well as the former boss, her only family that she cares for.

When Zander needs Rena to break a curse that he and his brother have been placed under, he seeks her out. Together, they race against the clock in order to ensure that the brothers are not lost forever to this curse. I think that Zander is a frustrating character – he denies himself a lot, but then gives in, but then is mad... his emotions are all over the place. The only thing that he's for sure on is that Rena and his brother should be together.

Zed is the brother who is in trouble. Rena and Zander are trying to release him from his dream-like state. I think where the book lost me is they were racing to save Zed and then he's only in the book for about three pages... there needed to be more for Zed – his recovery, decisions to move forward.

I like that Zander and Rena were able to figure out their own path, but I needed more of a conclusion when it came to whether or not Zed was saved. Now, with that being said, I am hoping the next book is Zed's and I am looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Oh my! I am almost ashamed to admit that this is the first in any of the Amoveo series that I have ever read. I know, I know.....what is wrong with me? Believe me I am asking myself the same question! Welcome to the world of mythical creatures great and small. I have read contemporary by Sara Humpherys and believe me, the paranormal is now on my radar. This is the amazing story of Zander and Rena.

Zander has been stuck in his human form for almost 500 years while his twin Zed has been stuck in his dragon form. Yep they are both dragon shifters and more than that, they are identical twins, something unheard of and especially for dragons. Zander has been trying everything he can think of to break the curse put on he and Zed after causing the death of the woman of the fox clan that they both thought was theirs. Zander quickly realizes that the woman that has been walking in their dreams, the beautiful Rena is Zed's mate, and if he can get them together he can break the spell, problem is, he wants her for himself.

Rena always knew that she was different, but never knew why. Then Zander shows up at her door and it all becomes clear, she is different because she is a shifter, part of the fox clan, and she is drawn to Zander like none other. But at every turn he pushes her away, keeping her at a distance, reminding her and himself that she is meant for his brother.

But when Zander takes Rena to her clan lands, the same lands that hold a sleeping dragon, the passion building between Rena and Zander can no longer be denied. And when a sleeping dragon is woken, it could spell disaster for everyone.

Zander and Rena are HOT HOT HOT together. The chemistry is off the charts. I love that Zander tried to keep his distance, denying the attraction and the pull between he and Rena. I love how Rena pulled out all the stops to show Zander that he, not Zed was her fated mate. And the rest of the fox clan was so supportive even after finding out that Zed and Zander are dragon shifters. They were welcoming and friendly. Amazing story with amazing characters. I cannot wait for more!

In fairness I want state that this is not one of my favorite tropes and I was unaware of that when I picked it up since there was nothing about it in the book description.

Some small spoilers as we discuss plot issues.

Rena is a private investigator who Zander hires to find his brother. What he does not tell her is that he knows exactly where his brother is, but Zander needs Rena to free Zed from his imprisonment.

Let’s make sure to point out the best part. I really liked Rena. I loved that Rena was no-nonsense and called Zander out of all his bullshit, which is all the bullshit that I didn’t like in the story. So Rena was me in this story. 🙂 I also like the Rena/Zander scenes while they lasted. Problem was that Zander was such a martyr, those scenes didn’t last long.

What is not mentioned in the book description is that Zander believes Rena is his brother’s mate, not his own and no matter how much sizzle these two had, Zander intended to bring Rena to his brother and “sacrifice” her for Zed. Zander, the dragon-shifter, is an identical twin, which is unusual for shifters since this messes with the mating bond and either brothers could mate with the one woman born for them. Now, I have seen this plot several times in menage erotica stories where twins have to share their fated female, but never in a paranormal romance when you are going to end up with one unhappy third wheel. If I were a twin, I think I would find the idea of being considered interchangeable quite offensive since Zander keeps telling Rena that the feelings she has for Zander will transfer over to Zed once he wakes up.

So Zander and Zed were cursed 500 years ago. Zander has been walking the earth looking for a way to break the curse while his brother has been stuck in his dragon form in hibernation for the last 500 years. So this is one of those plots that I hate. I don’t know the official term but it’s the “I’m escorting you to another man but we fall in love but you’re not mine and I will sacrifice and give you up for the greater good” trope. Whether it is a knight escorting the Queen-to-be to the kingdom, or in this case, you are destined to be my brother’s mate and only you can break the curse so he deserves your love and I have to sacrifice you to him, it is not my favorite storyline. While you are supposed to see that he is making the ultimate romantic sacrifice, all I see is the underlying premise is that she’s a thing to be given up. He’s making the sacrifice and she isn’t even consulted about it. Again, Rena calls him on it and explains I’m not a secondhand bike you can pass down.

In Sara Humphrey’s paranormal stories, connections in the dreamscape are a major plot of the story. Here is no different and Rena believes she keeps dreaming about being stuck in the forest and being chased by dragons. What is actually happening is that she is watching the dream reenactment of the fight between Zander and Zed that caused them to be cursed. Zed and Zander were fighting over a woman and while early descriptions in the story would lead you to believe that they both loved her and this time Zander is going to sacrifice his love to his brother, we actually see that Zander was walking away from Adrianna the first time, but that she instigates a fight between Zander and Zed because she wanted the two dragons to fight over her. In fact, the few scenes we see of Zed in these dream scenes make me think that Zed is the hot-headed, bad-tempered brother. Not someone I would want to be sacrificed to, thank you very much.

I almost stood up and clapped when Rena finally tells Zander to stop doling out information like he is saving it for a special treat and tell her everything now! How many times have we shouted that at the characters in a story? Ummm…just me? Oookay then. Rena also gives him a big F.U. when he tells her that she is his brother’s intended mate and she explains to him that this is the twenty-first century and he can’t just chose to deliver her like a present. That she is a person and makes her own decisions. YOU GO GIRL! I couldn’t have been happier at this point.

Don’t get me wrong, I liked Zander even with his life-is-too-long sadness. And I really like Rena and felt bad for the half-Amoveo shifter who was abandoned as a child and tossed from home to home because she was too odd. She never felt loved and add to this, her attraction to Zander and his willingness to pass her off to his brother. Life sucks for Rena and she deserves better. If Zed is such a prize, Zander should have spent all is time telling Rena stories of all the awesome things that make Zed wonderful so that maybe she would choose to give Zed a chance. And that doesn’t even start to take into account that you are tossing Rena at a man/dragon who has been asleep for 500 years, knows nothing about modern life and will probably waking up with a shit-ton of issues. Wow, sounds like Rena is being set up to win the romantic lottery, right?

I like all of Sara’s other stories and series. This review has less to do with the writing, than the type of storyline. It is definitely a matter of “it’s not you, it’s me” since there are simply tropes and storylines that I don’t enjoy and for the most part I avoid them, but here I was unaware where we were going until it was already started. If this plot doesn’t rub you wrong, like it does to me, you will love Rena and be excited when everyone gets their HEA. Me, I was just happy they finally got it worked out and I could move on.

I knew Undiscovered was the book for me when one of my favorite authors included one of my favorite paranormal shifter themes (dragons!) into an already amazing Amoveo series. The overall story is great, characters complex, and the added mystery, intrigue, and sexy romance is second to none. Undiscovered is a story about finding ones true self, redemption, family, and love, and one which I could not put down. I recommend this book for all lovers of PNR and just plain great books!

I'm so excited about this new spinoff series! UNDISCOVERED is the first book in Sara Humphreys' Amoveo Rising series featuring a new Dragon Clan that is set in her Amoveo world. I would rommend reading the Amoveo Legends series before starting this one, but it can be read as a standalone. I'm obsessed with dragon shifters and I love this new spinoff storyline. UNDISCOVERED has plenty of action, mystery and smoking hot romance. Zander and Rena were explosive together and I loved their story. I highly rcommend this series for paranormal romance lovers. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!

I’ve read a few other books from this author and I am never disappointed. This world was really interesting and gave a good introduction to the world of the Amoveo.

Rena is a self-proclaimed independent woman who has made it on her own with very little assistance. She bounced around from foster home to foster home until she finally gave up on that system, running away. On the streets, she eventually found her own father figure in the form of Vito, a private investigator. After his health began to decline, Rena ended up taking over the business and making a name for herself. She’s always been especially good at finding people because whenever she touches someone or something, she can see things. Her life would be pretty good, if she could just stop having nightmares about dragons killing her.

Zander is one of those dragons from her nightmares. He’s been cursed to remain in human form, immortal, for 500 years while his twin brother remains trapped in dragon form, reliving his own personal hell. The only way to break the curse is to find his brother’s mate and unite them. As if their past drama and emotional baggage wasn’t enough, when a woman pops up in their shared dreams, he knows he’s got to put his own feeling aside to give his brother what he desperately needs.

This story has a lot of sizzle, a healthy dose of stupid man martyrdom, and a really solid introduction to the wild world of shifters. It was nice to see a tough chick who can really stand her ground against scary looking dragons. The obvious attraction between these two kept the pages turning and me hooked. I wonder where the series will go next, now that dragons are officially back in the world.

This was a very engaging book. I have loved all of Sarah Humphreys books that I have read and this book did not disappoint.
Zander Lorens is cursed. He is cursed to live 500 years never being able to become his dragon once again. But yet his twin brothers curse is so much worse than Zander's. Zed is cursed to live as his dragon in the dreamrelm for 500 years. However, what happens when the 500 years is up and they never find each other’s mates? So, when Zander dreams with the girl he believes is Zed's mate he will do anything to bring her back to her brother and life the curse. Even if it means Zander will lose the one person who has made him feel in 500 years. Even if it means he will die at the hands of his brother over the wicked fox of their past.
Rena McHale has been on her own for the entirety of her life, after living in 12 foster homes then running away she finally found her very own "family" in the form of Vito. The man who gave her a chance and taught her how to embrace her gift of finding people and turning it into a job. So, when a handsome man comes to her business and offers 30,000 to find his brother who is she to say no. Of course, it helps that he is gorgeous......and can give her answers about the "gift" that has made her a freak among all the people who have ever known about it.
This was a great book, it reminded me of the Dark series by Christine Feehan. However, this series made me feel so much more than her books have accomplished in a long time. I must say that there were so many times when I was trying hard not to want to yell at Zander to show him the truth. And there were other times where I wanted Rena was talking about her past that I was dying inside because I never like it when young children suffer at the hands of society. But over all this book made me excited. It had so much drama, love, excitement, and a desire for a HEA that it managed to hit all the points I have ever made about what makes a good romance book. Add the fact that this book is a paranormal romance and this book just became so much more.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance, or who enjoys Ms. Humphreys writing style. And if you haven't tried her yet then this is the book that you should try because it will convert you to all books Humphrey and you will never want to stop reading her amazing stories.

Undiscovered is a story containing themes of passion, loyalty, mystery, suspense, destruction and death. Not your typical fluffy romance. Twin brothers Zed and Zander, both born of the dragon clan, were cursed five-hundred years ago. Zed to a state of hibernation under the earth in his dragon form and Zander, to wander the earth in human form. From this humble beginning, comes action and adventure in the form of a PI (Rena) who is a hybrid. Small problem - Zander is completely attracted to Rena and can’t seem to keep his hands to himself but believes that she is his brother's mate. No spoilers, but you will definitely appreciate reading this story.
