Fans of Buffy might be tempted by this...hard not to fall for a girl with a stake.
While it starts well, it quickly became the kind of story that I felt I'd read before. Yes, there's some tweaks to the expected - a vampire hunter with blood that can poison their prey - but it didn't seem to offer anything that unusual to make me rave about it.

I really loved this book. The main character Aurora is one of the most kick-ass and strong female characters I have ever read about. The story behind the creation of vampires and the version of vampires presented in the book are extremely intriguing. I can't wait to read the next installment and find out more about the vampires but also Aurora's adventures.
