Description

The Far Side of Promise is an anthology of short stories encompassing several genres.

Ouroboros and Innocent Deception bring the reader into cyberpunk themed worlds, where things are not always as they appear to be. Into the Beneath follows Kirsten Wren (from the Division Zero series) on the night she ran away from home as a child.

The Tower and The Roommate delve into the genre of contemporary thriller, the first in the vein of The Twilight Zone, the latter a glimpse into the life of a man, the girl he loves, and the skeleton that lives in his closet.

A Queen’s Lament is a high fantasy tale of a lonely wife who regrets that one night’s indiscretion may doom her entire kingdom.

In One More Run, one man braves a post-apocalyptic wasteland in pursuit of his dream to no longer get shot at for a living.

Daughter of Mars, The Far Side of Promise, and A Ghost Among Fireflies leave Earth behind for deep space with science fiction stories of a battle for independence, a battle for real food, and an irresistible dream pulling a woman to a child that needs help.

The Far Side of Promise (Anthology) by Matthew S. Cox is an excellent collection of short stories by one of my favorite authors. Each story is so odd and creepy that I could not help loving it. I especially loved "Into the Beneath" which I didn't know before was from the Division Zero series and I do have the book one of this series so I am certainly going to get on that book! I kept thinking, while reading this short story, this should be a book, it is a series which is even better! Each story is great, I loved every one, thanks NetGalley for giving me the chance to read this great collection.
