From Lene Kaaberbøl, known as the Danish J.K. Rowling: Book three in the Wildwitch series, an acclaimed new children's fantasy series about a young girl who can communicate with and control the natural world.

A sparrow flitting under the forest canopy, a snake slithering on its belly across a carpet of leaves, a hawk swooping down on a squirrel: Clara finds herself drawn into a variety of animal minds and caught up in a deadly dance of predator and prey.

The dramatic and mysterious third part in the Wildwitch story sees Clara discover more about her magical powers and about herself, as an unexpected and frightening new danger emerges from the shadows.

Clara is a wildwitch. In this story learns more about what can happen to a wildwitch and how much more she needs to learn. Clara tries to figure out some strange dreamlike experiences she is having. What does it mean? Clara discovers what those experiences mean. She then goes to a "master" wildwitch for help. After seeing her, she goes on a quest to solve her "experiences" and "desires" that she doesn't want. Will she succeed? Clara learns on her exciting and at times scarey adventure that she has magical powers she didn't know she had. She also learns more about herself.

The author has written an excellent novel. Even though there are scarey moments, it should be realized that it's not that scarey. It adds to Clara's discovery about herself. It is a quick read as it is written precisely and not drawn out as sometimes stories can be. I loved. Reading and am going to read the first two as I am curious how she discovered that she was a wildwitch.

Princess Fuzzypants here:
I liked the first book of this series about a young girl who discovers she has magical talents and can communicate with animals. As she learns more about her powers, she is frightened by the death of a sparrow into whose body she has morphed. There is something in the forest that is evil. It is devouring all sources of life it meets and unless she figures out who is behind this wicked force and why it is doing what it is doing, the entire world is at risk.
This is a well written and exciting book for older children to old adults. It transcends the generations.
If you like fantasy that keeps you on your toes to the very end, check it out. I look forward to reading the next book too.
I give it four purrs and two paws up.
