In Festival of Lights, erotica author D.L. King brings BDSM to the Jewish holiday of Chanukah with her amusing and sexy short story about a couple’s very unique way of celebrating the Festival of Lights. You’ll never think of lighting the menorah in the same way again after spending some time with Marc and Judith and their kinky friends.

For a brief time, this story was listed as LGBTQ on NetGalley, something which has now been rectified so don’t expect any same sex action. In fact, this story features many kinky delights, none of which involve sexual intercourse. Some might think that’s a spoiler, however I feel it needs to be said so readers don’t feel misled.
Right, with that out of the way did I enjoy this story? I did indeed, a great deal in fact. I’m a huge fan of femdom, however I find most stories in the genre, a little over the top. Even though Judith makes no bones about who’s in charge, there’s no denying the love and respect between her and Marc, a delightful couple I came to adore in a short amount of page time.
Domestic discipline, spanking, wax play, and men who know their place made for a fun story. The story flowed at a good pace, and as expected was well polished.
My one gripe - even though I knew this was a short-story, something I’m partial too, it ended way too soon. A few additional pages at the end, with just Marc and Judith, would’ve earned another star.

Festival of Lights is a good novella highlighting a kinky adult version of Chanukah. The human menorah is a great addition to the story!
