Tartan Temptation

I requested this because of the title and the photo and description. I had a hard time deciding how to rate the novella. I expected more. The author while talented in writing a story could of taken a mediocre read into the WOW Fantastic Read but did not. She has a great plot line and a fantastic way of writing, however, it seemed all sex. The story seemed like a by line instead of the main course. Sad for the plot was great! My personal preferences in a book make it hard to be fair, I want more story and less sex, (okay , I like the hot romance and passion), but maybe it was a little to much for me in this one. I am giving this a four instead of a three because it is mostly my personal thoughts that downgraded it.

A short novella that is passionate and sexy. Characters that are enjoyable. A plot line that is very very different and will capture your imagination. So enjoy the book. I was given this book in return for an honest review. Anna Swedenmom

This is the first book that I have read by this author.

Although I prefer a less erotic, and sex filled story it wasn't bad. I do feel it would have been better had it been a full length novel rather than this short novella. It would have allowed for more background and character understanding.

We know that our couple have known each other since childhood and glimpse the fact that his grandfather and her grandmother were more than friends to each other.

There was a surprising twist to the story that I would like to have more time devoted to..

I did like the read but found it to be lacking in some of the essential elements. There could have been much more story development if extended into a full length book.

I would give this book 3.25 of 5 stars for storyline and characterization and 4of 5 flames for heat. The sexual scenes were hot even though they were short.

loved this book i did not know what to expect and was not sure if i would enjoy this.Don't know what i was worried about this is a super hot and sexy little book would recommend it i cant wait to try more from kayden it was great.

This was a delightfully surprising novella. I really wasn't sure what I was expecting but it was even better than I anticipated. Brodie and Cora were really sexy together and the chemistry between them sizzled. Learning Brodie's secret was really exciting because I am a huge fan of mermaids and I wasn't expecting that cool twist. This novella has the perfect balance of suspense and romance and I hope there's a longer story about these two in the future.

Tartan Temptation is an erotic romance novel written by Kayden Claremont. It follows the main character Cora Siegfried who has after many years returned to the seaside town she used to spend her holidays to sell her father’s property after his death. She hates every aspect of being there and wants it to be resolved as soon as possible so she can return to her busy, stressful life as a financial planner in the big city. She immediately reunites with her childhood crush Brodie Murdock who is quite keen on spending time with her. There is a clear sexual tension between them but they both fight it, at least until it just becomes too much.

Tartan Temptation certainly is not the book I expected it to be. I was aware it would be smut when I requested it on NetGalley, but I thought it would revolve around Scotts, as the tittle and the description suggested, so I was quite confused when it was in the first chapter said that the main male protagonist Brodie Murdock, who wears a kilt, is not even Scottish. I found the later said reason for him wearing a kilt quite unbelievable.
This was not one of the best books I have read. The plot was evolving really fast, which made it unnatural and even cringy sometimes. Also, I understand that this is an erotica novel, but I really feel as if the two main characters were only ever thinking about sex. They were one-dimensional and flat. Their thoughts were kind of childish, but at the same time unimaginably dirty. I sometimes even saw them as animals unleashed.
The parallel plot involving Brodie Murdocks secret was forced and I think even unneccessary since it did nothing to better the readers understanding of the main characters. The paranormal subplot is quite flat and think it deserved a lot more explaining to fully understand the logic behind it.
This book seemed almost as if it was just an early draft of a book yet to be written. It had a lot of potential, but it was not fulfilled. In addition, I did find a few grammatical mistakes.

In conclusion, I cannot say that I hated this book since that is not the truth. I actually quite enjoyed reading it. It was an amusing quick read. I would only recommend Tartan Temptation if that is exactly what you are looking for – a quick and an amusing read. If you are however more interested in reading something more mature and complex I would put this one aside.

I loved this book. The characters are great and the story line just pulls you in. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting.

Great story with mystery and a twist. Brodie have been in lived with Cora for a long time so when she came back home he was determined to let her know how he felt despite his secret. Cora have always had feelings for Brodie. A night together leads to secrets revealed and Cora have to make a decision on their future. Recommended read.
