At last!! Reardon's poems are deceptive--at first glance they are lovely poems about the things of daily life. But her words echo in my mind after I have closed the book, and I find myself repeatedly pulling this collection out to re-read the poem that has taken root in me.

After reading Elaine Reardon’s book of poems, The Heart is a Nursery for Hope, I feel like I’ve been on a grand adventure. Her poems Winter Storm and Below Zero Tonight brought chills to my soul. I melted into the haunting verses of Convent in Primavera Mexico and Primavera Forest. I thoroughly enjoyed Elaine’s unique perspective and her bold interpretation of the stories of Eve and Guinevere. Her odes to people come and gone speak to anyone whose heart is missing a piece.
