Description

Tides of Change, Book One of The Atlantis Chronicles, begins far beneath the wild beauty of the Aegean Sea. Having survived one horrific cataclysm, a society as ancient as time now thrives untouched and undiscovered in blue waters once ruled by Poseidon

Unknown to any but their Healer, a devastating secret threatens Atlantis with yet another extinction event. The matriarchal healing line descended from Poseidon no longer has an heir. In a desperate bid to ensure the continuance of their small underwater community, Na-Kai eva Evenor, Most Sovereign Healer of Atlantis, unleashes a power the Healers have been expressly forbidden to use from the beginning of time.

Rising from the hidden depths of Atlantis, Na-Kai’s telekinetic web of energy shimmers to a halt atop the jagged, volcanic cliffs of the exotic Greek island of Santorini.

Compelled from her hotel room to the very edge of the dark, windswept cliffs, Daria Caiden is trapped in the grasp of Na-Kai's relentless thought-form and pulled deep into the sapphire waters below. Floating in midnight quiet, she releases her last breath, and waits to die.

In one shattering moment, events are set into motion that will bring about catastrophic change no one could foresee.

Great new interesting story. Definitely recommend.

A different view of what might be if Atlantis still existed under the sea. The progression of evolution of them. Add in a girl from our world who could save them all and you have a perfectly story to immerse yourself in.
My only problem is the switch of characters ever chapter became confusing to me.

Interesting, engaging and unique. The plot was captivating and enthralling, the prose beautiful, the mystery well delivered and the characters strong. I loved it and would recommend it to everyone. I really hope for a sequel.

I absolutely loved this novel. The premise of the society of Atlantis surviving is a great one, The characters are believable and the weaving of the healer's energy amazing; The book starts out topside and intertwines two societies and the main characters. I can't wait to read the sequel..

The premise and storyline here were so good, but I think they might have been a bit underdeveloped. The plot jumped very quickly and some points didn't seem to make any sense. For example, did the new healer get a brain download from all of the healers that went before or was she just guessing and hoping. That said - it was a good story

I was given a copy of Tides of Change by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is the beginning of a series or trilogy by goodreads author Susan MacIver, and based off this description of the book I had some high hopes for this story, since it was the beginning of a trilogy and I was not disappointed.
The story takes a little time to get stated, for me I wasn’t really hooked until about Chapter 9. However after that the story became rather had to put down.
This is a fantasy novel to me; with everything you might be looking for a little romance, action, and suspense combined with s healthy dose of lore, fantasy, intrigue, human frailty and hope. What more could you want?
A lot of time and care went into the characters and world building here and it definitely comes through. It is engaging, well though out and everything is developed.
Again, I note that some of the pacing was a little jarring at times but over all it was a good read, and I will be waiting to see the sequel when it comes out.
