Isabella “Izzy” Church is a self-empowered entrepreneur dedicated to creating entertaining and educational content for a wide audience. She has been recognized as an entertainer, author and artist. This is Izzy Church’s first children’s book, however, she is the author of numerous works, including the LOL romantic comedy novel, Angry Movie Guy.

At the young age of sixteen, Isabella landed work as a fashion model and moved to New York to sign with Wilhelmina Modeling Agency where she resumed her multi-faceted career in the arts & entertainment industry. Izzy graduated Suma Cum Laude from Mary Mount Manhattan College with a degree in Communication Arts, specializing in writing for film and television. Furthermore, Izzy spent a year with Dream Works in the head of the books to film department. Her time spent at Dream Works inspired her to work towards adapting her novel, Angry Movie Guy, for the screen. Izzy is proud to announce that she is currently in preproduction for Angry Movie Guy.
At present, Izzy is immersed in the art world and is excited to be co-curating several art projects: Street to Tower, an enormous street art exhibition on the sixty-ninth floor of the World Trade Center, tower number four will launch in early 2017. Izzy is also co-curating, No More Black Targets, which will launch January of 2017. The project focuses on using our creativity to reach out to others to stop the violent and unjust shooting of black men by police officers.

I was looking for a book that my niece could read and when I got notified that Izzy Church had a children’s book coming out I decided to give it a go. I’m a fan of Izzy’s work since I read her romantic comedy novel, Angry Movie Guy. Dr Pookie And The Case of His Missing Thought absolutely met my expectations.
This is what the book is about: Pookie misses his friends and he throws a party to spend some quality time with them. As they are all sitting around listening to uplifting music and enjoying the delicious food Pookie had cooked for them, Pookie started narrating what happened when he lost his thought.
What began with one missing thought turned into a trail of lost thoughts and Dr. Pookie became the Most Forgetful Bear In The Forest.
This is a fun read with wonderful pictures, likeable characters the kids will enjoy reading and moral messages that the parents will very much appreciate. This book talks about the value of friendship in our life and how important is that friends should care about each other. I was also happy to find out that at the end of the book there is a glossary that will help kids to enrich their vocabulary. Overall it’s a highly recommended children’s book. #givebearahug

Dr. Pookie and the Case of His Missing Thought

What a delightful Children’s book. I liked the cover art and the book is full of great illustrations to help children visualize the characters. The book is warm, friendly and full of humor. The author does a great job of describing the forest, Dr. Pookies man-bear cave and giving names to the animal friends of Dr. Pookie.
Dr. Pookie is a large brown bear who has excellent self esteem! He says in the book: “stared at my handsome reflection” , “Wow! It’s rough being this gorgeous”.
Children can read and help solve Dr. Pookies mystery along with all of Dr. Pookies numerous animal friends from Little Royal Forest. Aside from the mystery, the book is about friendship, sharing and helping out your friends.
This book was a joy to read. I laughed and smiled the whole book through. This is a great book to be read at story time at a local library, or for parents/grandparents to read to children. Of course children will love reading the book for themselves.
