Erica was framed for embezzlement by her sleazy ex- who was also her boss and rich to boot. She decides on a wild one night stand before she goes in. She meets person on line and so she has no clue what he looks like, when she decides to meet him in a bar, dressed in a kilt. The person she meets is not him, this part was hilarious, and unfortunately for her, ends up being the person who is taking care of the apartment for a month from her neighbor, poor thing she thought she would never have to see him again, after she ran from bar. Lachlan, is visiting America to help him deal with his nasty divorce, from a woman who was greedy, and never loved him, so he does not trust woman. They have instant attraction, so they decide on a one month affair, since they really can not get in a relationship The story has secrets, humor. and it was hot..

Dangerous in a Kilt by Anna Durand
Hot Scots #1

Erica Teague has always played it safe. She trusted the wrong man and as a result expects to go to jail in about thirty days. With that in mind she sets up a blind date with the intention of seeing if she might have the ability to be a wee bit wild before her freedom disappears. Well, the guy that shows up is HOT and all she has dreamed of BUT her ability to be a siren takes a hike and she runs for the hills. The next morning who should be on her doorstep but…the man from the night before? Exactly! With her freedom in jeopardy and his vacation time limited they agree to a no strings attached limited time affair that should work for both of them without emotional involvement. Makes sense, right? With Erica’s ex-boyfriend, the guy who set her up, making appearances from time to time and Lachlan’s phone calls hinting at secrets he is not sharing there are some definite ups and downs during their time together. As with most books of this genre…there are plenty of steamy encounters that ultimately lead to a HEA for the main characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and Backlit PR for the ARC – this is my honest review.

This is the first book I have read by Anna Durand and it was great. Lachlan is hot and even sexier in his kilt, Erica is out on bail, charged with a crime she didn’t commit. With an offer, she can’t refuse and secret he is trying to hide can they spend a month together without getting personal. Pick up Dangerous in a Kilt to find out!

A contemporary Scottish-American romance (Scots male, American female) that includes quite a few heated love scenes, some tension, and a little tenderness. The plot is a male saves the female from desperate situation kind of story. Both MCs are generally likeable, with only a couple of wishy-washy moments. Overall, a decent current romance novel with a hot Scot in a kilt.

Whew, where can I get myself a hot Scot in a kilt?! Good girl accountant, Erica Teague, finds herself one in a club called Dance Ardor, where she's supposed to be meeting up with Cliff for just one night of being wild and free. When she finds herself having the hottest kiss of her life with Lachlan MacTaggart instead, her world spins on its axis and soon she finds herself giving into his proposition of being his American fling while he's in the US for a month.

Dangerous in a Kilt has a nice juxtaposition of being both classic yet contemporary in feel. Lachlan feels like an old fashioned hero in that growly alpha, hot Scot with a brogue way, yet he's nicely contemporary in his reverence for Erica's smart mind as well as for her outward beauty. Erica is just plain awesome, she's smart and conservative, yet yearns to be free and wild before she heads off to prison, or so she's expecting if her douchebag ex gets his way. You see, her ex set her up to take the fall for his embezzlement, and she doesn't have the resources to fight his family's old money connections with law enforcement. Thank God for Lachlan's insistence upon helping Erica, in more ways than just this, or she really would have found herself off to prison.

But, as their month long fling takes off, she finds herself falling for him, even though that's strictly against the rules of no personal questions, no attachments. And yet, if Lachlan doesn't do attachments, has no feelings other than just liking her for sex, why does he insist on calling her gràidh (Scots Gaelic for darling) and mo leannan (my love) all the time? Does he truly have feelings for Erica? Or is it just wishful thinking on her part? And why all the romantic embellishments like candles and chocolates, and better yet, the flowers that share her name (Erica cinerea - bell heather)? He's a bit hot and cold with poor Erica and it drives her nuts, but she tries to keep her poor heart shut, her mouth shut so she won't ask forbidden personal questions, but she's only human and there's no way her poor heart could withstand a hot, sweet Scot in a kilt who woos and seduces her.

If I could find a hot Scot who sexed me up the way Lachlan sexed up Erica, I'd fall too, the rules be damned. Thank God, he got over his fears and manned up and came back to her, because their journey to their HEA was about to drive me over the edge along with Erica. I absolutely love Dangerous in a Kilt, it's so sexy, so sweet and charming that I am in love with my adopted homeland now (my adopted father is Scottish). If I weren't already married to a hot Filipino, I'd be tempted to find a Lachlan for myself! Now, I'm anxiously awaiting the next Hot Scots book, hopefully it's about Rory or Aidan, Lachlan's brothers.

'Dangerous in a Kilt' by Anna Durand is the story of Erica Teague and Lachlan MacTaggart.
Erica was set up by her ex boyfriend to take the fall for embezzlement that he actually did. But before she goes away she thought to have hot sexual encounter with a date she met online but she ends up meeting Lachlan. Lachlan we found his is house sitting a neighboring house in Erica neighborhood.
Lachlan is only going to be staying there for a few weeks. So they come to an agreement to have a short hot relationship. But will this be what they both want?

Overall a good story. I read the fourth in the series first, and to be honest I'm glad I did, as I liked that one much better. This one was good, but if you remove all the sex it would be a very very short story. Would have liked a bit more story, and also would have liked the snarky banter found in the fourth book. Overall though, I did enjoy it and would recommend this author and series.
