An interesting take on a concept bringing to light a strong woman striving for the empowerment of not only women, but also how they see themselves. I enjoyed the first person voice of the story...making the story more impactful.

I finished this book in one sitting. I admit, the Baroness did get on my nerves at the beginning with her cold and narcissistic attitude. However, one she had to deal with Mrs. Beaumont, I was rooting for to get one over on that arrogant termagant. And Louis was so weak and I was hoping he would see his mother for what she was. Anyway, since this book ended on a cliff hanger I am looking forward to reading the next one. As this one kept me glued to my seat. I voluntarily read this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I tore through this book in one sitting, and I’m so conflicted with my emotions. The writing is really well done, and I commend the author for creating a character that I despise. Baroness is a high society seduction expert, who is narcissistic as hell. Her mannerisms and attitude got on my nerves the entire book. I feel like I tore through the pages because I wanted to see if she’d finally get what she deserves.

Definitely a fun read. It reminded me of something Christina Lauren would write. It is perfect for someone who loves romance novel. There were times when I did feel a little lag with the plot. I like something that I can fly through.

You'll love this book and find it hard to put down once you start reading. This book was lighthearted and easy to read. Shows the power of a woman. I read an advance reader copy via Net Galley and voluntarily chose to review. She was an interesting character that was strong and well developed. An entertaining story that was fun to read.

One of the first books I requested & wAs suprised to see it had been approved so long after requested so I had to put it to the top of my reading list. Sadly it just didn’t do it for me after looking forward to reading it so much.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book.
It's definitely a good start to the series, once you realise that the main character is not your usual woman. She's driven, selfish and looks amazing; watch out anyone who stands in her way.
There were a few errors which will hopefully be fixed by publication but didn't take away from the story as a whole.
Am hoping that we'll find out more about her past and why she is this way. I'm tentatively predicting she may actually find someone she'll compromise for, but at this stage it doesn't seem likely.

This book was fun from the beginning. She's an expert on love and how to achieve it. If you have an issue with your partner she's the one to come to. She has all the answers and women worship her. You have to read for yourself to experience this book to the fullest.

If you want a quick beach/summer read this is it. I finished it pretty quickly. Despite it being called the "seduction" expert there was very little sex in the book, only a few references here and there. The story surrounds "The Baroness" a 29 year old who specializes in the art of seduction. Clients reach out to her for all sorts of love issues, from suspecting infidelity to finding and keeping a man. After the baroness herself gets engaged, her future mother in law (aka. Satan) sets out on a course to destroy her by getting her clients husbands (from the infidelity cases to go after her. The story is left incomplete, most likely for a sequel, as we do not find out the fate of the Baroness business...

4.5 Stars

The Seduction Expert is surprisingly good and quite entertaining. The Baroness is this cynical, frank, and most of the time narcissistic bitch. She's anti-heroine, if I may say so. However, one thing is for sure she empowered women who seek her help. You may not like her at first but eventually, as the story progresses, you're going to understand why she's like that. And with that cliffy ending, I'm excited what will happen to her when she takes New York by storm. Saya Lopez Ortega did an amazing job in writing her first book. I enjoyed it and can't wait to read more from this up and coming author.

The self-proclaimed "Baroness" is in the business of catching married men cheating on their wives and ensuring the wife has financially more than what is legally coming to her. She lives for the thrill of making these men squirm with what she has learned and holds over them. When she is introduced, however, to her future mother in law, she finds she has met her match.

This is the first in a series of books on this character who makes "The Devil Wears Prada" villain Miranda Priestly look like Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music. I look forward to learning more about this strong female lead in the next book of the series.

The Seduction Expert was a very quick, far-fetched and funny holiday read. The self-styled Baroness is a fixer who makes her fortune separating women from their cheating husbands with the maximum financial settlement possible. She views all men with contempt, and doesn't have much respect for most women either.
The Baroness's strategic love match with dim but rich Louis starts to come apart when she meets Louis's mother Mrs Beaumont. No one is good enough for her Louis, let alone a social climber like the Baroness.
Pretty soon, war is declared, and the Baroness starts to make bad decisions. The scene is set for a speedy sequel as the book ends on a cliffhanger. Three stars.

I felt that this was a very 'tongue in cheek' book. We aren't really meant to take it too seriously, especially the self titled 'Baroness' who is one of the most egotistic characters.
Enjoyable , if a little repetitive.
Thank you for a review copy.

This is a book that made me feel torn because I both loved the clever writing style and hated the main character. Anyone who can make me hate the main character with such passion and yet make me want to run out and buy the second book is a talented author.
The main character greed, vanity and pure manipulation failed to make her likeable ...half way through the book I considered if I should stop reading as my dislike continues to grow for the Barronness . However now I want to read her next jadded adventure !

The story of the Baroness is definitely a very striking story. The lead character is almost unlikely. I liked it but had a little difficulty getting swept up and taken for a ride.

The Seduction Expert is a fictional story about a woman who is running her own business in trying to help women get out of bad relationships or find new relationships. If she’s not getting ready everything little detail to take down the richest scumbags who cheat on their wives, she’s working on her own personal life- where’s she met the man of dreams and planning her fantastic life and wedding. Can she really help women meet the men they deserve and get away from the bad husbands and bad habits in 40 days with her help? And can she have everything she wants as well in her own personal life or will she have to sacrifice it to make others happy? This is the first book in what’s going to be an amazing series and I can’t wait for more books. I read through this one so fast and I couldn’t believe all the crazy this woman puts up with from clients while trying to live her own life and running her company.

This is the first book I have read by Ortega and did not know what to expect. The writing is really well done, and she creates a character that you just can not like. I actually hate the baroness. The Seduction Expert is perfect for a quick summer. The story is about a 29 year old who calls her self the "baroness" who specializes in the art of seduction in the hopes of catching others in the act of cheating. The baroness finds herself entangled in a situation with her future mother n law that lends it self to a 2nd book.

It’s an interesting book, I can’t say I liked it I thought the main character is just to much of a bitch hung up on herself, but with that being said it’s well written and does keep your interest maybe because I don’t want a happily ever after....

This was one of the most hyped books and I was excited to get it. However, I cannot say it was my favourite.
It was very unique, with a strong main heroine. She was unlike any other character I have read about (and she did get on my nerves a bit, but it is not a bad thing, as her character was well fleshed out).
The book is funny and definitely makes you think about relationships and women's statues overall.

I didn't know much about this book or this author when I started reading this book. I'm not sure if I even do yet! LOL. I can tell you that I read this book in less than 24 hours because I could not put it down.....I HAD to find out how things ended.

A female, who goes by the name Baroness, has a job where she is referred to as The Seduction Expert. Her job helps females who have any type of problem with a male. It could be to land a certain male or find out if said male is cheating on them. Baroness strongly feels that any man who has wronged any female ought to pay. With all of the strong connections that Baroness has, she can pretty much get any man to do what she wants for any woman. Just when it looks like her life couldn't be any more perfect, a huge wrench is thrown into her plans in the form of her future mother-in-law.

I think Baroness is the female that every female wishes they could be. Man does she have some balls! I loved the way she navigates through life. I really enjoyed the interactions with her staff too. Overall this was a fun book to read. The story ends in a way that makes me think there will more books about Baroness and I cannot wait to see where this ride is going to go.

The Seduction Expert also know as The Baroness is a very strong character in the book. Her personality is one of a narcissistic cold hearted woman. She runs a business helping women either getting the man of their dreams, or married women, catching the cheating husbands. The story goes from there when she gets engaged and then meets her match to the mother in law.
I found this book humorous, and interesting, but I was wondering where it was going.....and I'm not sure if the author knew either. Otherwise I found it easy to ready and entertaining.

General info
Meet the baroness, the woman who solves other women’s marital issues. She has everything planned out to the T. She does everything and anything to reach her dreams and goals. Read this, to see her work through the perfect plan that she simply calls life.

Things I liked
For me, the story itself was quite interesting. It is astonishing that there are people like the baroness in the real world as well. People who are so greedy and need money and fame so much that they will do anything to get it. For me, love is essential for marriage and I simply cannot understand people who will do it just for money.

Things I didn’t like
The character of the Baroness is to me something ugly. Don’t get me wrong, she is a complex and thoroughly thought of character but I just don’t like people like her whether they are fictional or real. I also do not like the way the Baroness treats all the people around her.

Conclusion
All in all, this is an interesting book. I really like the plot and the whole story but I did not like the characters much. At least not the main characters. I still kind of want to read the next book in the series but it will not be essential for me.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is about a seduction expert, the "Baroness" who helps women with their love lives. It's a pretty uncommon concept and I was fascinated with where the book could go.

The writing style is really imaginative and clever. The plot is fast-paced and the story engages you.

As the story unfolds you get to know more about the Baroness, who is really well developed. She's definitely the anti-heroine but she does empower the women who seek her help. As the story progresses, you learn more about why the Baroness is the way she is. I really liked how the author executed her character development, with her backstory unfolding as the plot does. I'm excited to hear more from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"As I enter the building, I get stares. I'm the seduction expert, everyone knows it and my function intrigues. Women want to call on my services and men imagine life by my side."

Our seduction expert, covertly named The Baroness, is a narcissistic, conceited and powerful woman who has designed her company and services in favor of the scorned women of Paris, more specifically, the wealthy women of Paris. She is a dominatrix who is happy to spy, and ultimately destroy, the husbands of Parisian wives who do not treat the women in their lives favorably, and all for a very high price, of course.

I initially went into this book a little unsure of the main character, her personality is extremely strong and shines through the words almost glaringly. I wasn't certain whether I was going to like her from the description I received of the book, but to my delight, I warmed to her very quickly.

This novel is a Parisian romance catering mainly to feminists. The Baroness is a powerfully refreshing main character who literally had me laughing out loud with her overly arrogant opinion of herself.

As the Seduction Expert, she has expertly ensnared a man named Louis Beaumont, who is from one of the wealthiest families in Paris. As they are due to marry, the stakes heat up as her nemesis, in the form of her mother in law, gives her an ultimatum - ditch Louis (and her climb up the social ladder) or her mother in law will destroy her.

Even though she's not in love with Louis, that's beside the point, The Baroness has carefully formed a meticulous plan on how her marriage to Louis will bring about her reign of the world. Giving him up is simply not an option.

"He takes my hand and looks at me lovingly. I usually just need to do likewise to make him happy. That's what we call NLP synchronization. Reproducing your companion's gesture will allow him to feel in total harmony with you. That said, my approach is not entirely devoid of sincerity since I admit than I am profusely in love with his bank account.
"We haven't seen each other for three days..." And I can't wait to find out if his financial assets have increased."

As well as an interesting plot and intriguing main character, there are these little quirks littered throughout the story of the author using the science of the body to manipulate love. I thought that these were such treasures as it backs up The Baroness's techniques and impressive personality.

"In addition to spying on him, I always alternate rewards and spanking."

I could quite honestly read about The Baroness all day. The first person voice was contemporary and thoroughly enjoyable.

The only thing I didn't like, which is why I have deducted a star, was the ending. The stakes in the story were very fight or flight and the cliff hanger conclusion was rushed and disappointing. With that being said, I would read the next installment of The Baroness in a heartbeat.

Thank you to Net Galley and VSP Publishing for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Seduction Expert by Saya Lopez Ortega is honestly something I have never read before and can honesty say I have never come close to a book like this!
"Baroness" runs a busy (and expensive) business in Paris. Supporting the wives of cheating wealthy men, basically taking back what she believes is truly owed to her clients. The Baroness is witty, narcissistic, strong feminist. This book screams "girl power"!! Even when difficulties comes her way, the Baroness is still one step ahead!! This book gives a brilliant insight to the Baroness's world and sets the scene for the next books.

Meet the Baroness who is a secret spy that every women would want when she's married or dating a man that you don't 100% fully trust. The Seduction Expert was a very witty and entertaining book that would make for a perfect summer vacation read. I will admit that I felt this book was a little too short and there were sections that could have been elaborated so much more than they were. The main negative I had with this is book is that it ended with "To Be Continued". The book is short- just continue the story instead of leaving us hanging! However, do not let these few negatives effect your decision to read this enjoyable book. Thank you Netgalley for the advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This was a great book and great new to me author, i could not put this down and I highly recommend this read. there were some things that just made sense.

The Baroness is a beautiful mysterious woman. Not much is really known about her, and what is known is probably not real. When wealthy women are having problems with their love lives, or with their husbands, she and her crack staff come in and not only fix the problem, but make sure the problem never existed.

The Baroness is rich beyond belief, but for some reason she can never have enough money. So when her boyfriend of two years, Louis Beaumont, of THE Beaumont's of France finally proposes to her she happily accepts although it was perhaps her seduction expertise which makes it really happen.

And that's when the Baroness' life takes a turn for the worse. Because there is a Beaumont who is not particularly thrilled with this development. Louis's mother!

I enjoyed the easy dialogue and quick wit undertones of the Baroness. I enjoyed reading about what the lifestyles of the rich and famous looks like. I also look forward to the second installment which I have no doubt will be coming.

Thank you #NetGalley #VSP Publishing #Saya Lopez Ortega #The Seduction Expert for the advanced copy. I believe the book will be out on June 26.

The Seduction Expert is the first book in series of same name by Saya Lopez Ortega. One of the most anticipated romance books of 2019 is a stretch but it is entertaining. Just look at the cover! It has the image of a shiny red stiletto over a skyline—very Sex and the City-ish.

Have you ever heard of a seduction expert? Women hire Baroness to take control of their love lives. She handles their single status, relationships, breakups and affairs. She is a superwoman that dedicates her life in service to helping women succeed in seduction. Her network includes a clever attorney and a devoted assistant. But an unexpected encounter flips Baroness' carefully planned personal life and business all around.

I would not characterize this book as plain romance. It is more romance-with-a-twist. Without giving the plot away, it chronicles the business and personal life of Baroness with little detailed focus of her clients. And thank goodness because a couple of the women seemed too desperate, clueless or silly. Baroness' life was far more interesting and the writing just flowed.

It is not often I wish this but...The Seduction Expert could have been 100 pages longer. Kudos to the author for creating a hate-to-love main character and a helluva cliffhanger. It literally ends with "To Be Continued" so come on with it! Give me more of this series please.

Happy Debut, Saya Lopez Ortega. The Seduction Expert is now available.

I really enjoyed this one. So different from anything I have read, which is great (and unusual if you read as much as I do). The Baroness is the seduction expert. She will do anything in her goal to help her clients and I couldn't get enough. The story really drew me in! Cant wait to read more from this author!

Thank you to VSP publishing and Net Galley for the ARC of this page turner. I couldn't put this one down. The ruthless heroine, known simply as The Baroness or B, delivers a bitingly humorous inner monologue and commentary on the other characters.

The novel is set in Paris, but it just lacks Parisian flavor, there's nothing French in the setting; it could have just as easily been New York. At one point The Baroness mentions her assistant having a "yard sale". That just doesn't strike me as a Parisian thing at all. Very abrupt ending, but it certainly left me wanting more and eager for the sequel!

This book was fun at times, readable dialog. The Baroness is a cross between a private investigator and a life coach. Found myself giggling at certain parts. This one is a female power read.

I had been really looking forward to reading The Seduction Expert and I was definitely not disappointed! It was an absolutely fabulous and totally engrossing novel. The pacing was good which meant it was a very quick read and I really didn't want to put it down, once I had started it.

This was a fun and entertaining story, but it did conflict with my emotions a little, which was no bad thing. I strongly recommend this powerful and enthralling book by Saya Lopez Ortega.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel at my own request from the publisher via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

I had requested the Seduction Expert months and months ago from Netgalley and it just sat in queue. Then it was suddenly approved. So I dug into the book during my free time.

The Baroness, that's what she likes to be called, is a seduction expert, meant for two things only. Exploiting cheaters and helping people who are looking for their match. The main character is a narcissistic condescending ^%$&^%#^. She's the brain behind a consulting firm in Paris, where her clients are exclusive. No riff raff allowed! But this doesn't stop her from talking about the clients she approves, she often comments on their weights and how they dress. Yes, shes a hard character to like. I wanted to jump in the book and cuss her out.

What isn't so surprising is how she controls her own love life, using sex a tool. That's not a old trick but when it is time for her to meet her soon-to-be husbands mother, everything explodes for her. I thought the Baroness was bad but her mother-in-law to be, Mrs. Beaumont, is a league of her own and blew her right out of the water. This is where it gets really good. Karma definitely has reared it's pretty ugly head and it is aimed right at the one who most certainly deserves it! I enjoyed the book despite hating the main character. This is a book you'll either love or hate.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing company and the author for generously providing the ARC.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy from VSP Publishing and Netgalley for my unbiased opinion of the book. This book is about a narcissistic feminist named the Baroness, trying to help give women what they want and think they want for a very high price. It is not for the faint of heart. I read this book in a few hours and can't wait for more! I loved it.

The Baroness is a Seduction Expert, but so much more. She helps so many women who need help with their love lives. She teaches what they need to know from now to seduce the one you want, break up with them and investigate their lifes. So much need and she has it all or does she? She is not a heroine and is sometimes the biggest bitch around. I started out hating her. You eventually find out why she is such a nasty person. Someone is causing her problems. Who could it be? Someone with a vendetta or is it personal? I ended you loving the book and can't wait for the next one. It ended in a cliffhanger. I would recommend it highly. I received this book from Net Galley and the publisher for a honest review. I voluntarily read this book.

The Seduction Expert by Saya Lopez Ortega is book One in The Seduction Expert Series. The Baroness is a Seduction Expert / Private Eye who is somewhat hard to like when reading her thoughts and action. But she is a strong women who pretty much knows what she wants and how to help in power women. Women want her help with men. Men do not want her to get back at them when they are caught with their hand in someone else's 'cookie jar'.
Overall enjoyed this book and looking forward to the next installment.

4.5
Set in Paris, Baroness is at the top of her game. She’s a self-made high society business women who has those around her captivated. Her business is to help women achieve their dreams of love OR revenge for woman with unfaithful husbands, no matter how unscrupulous. She then justifies some of her bad behavior by cloaking it in a mild mockery of feminism. Indeed, her disdain for men and glee at destroying unworthy ones meets no bounds!

Her ultimate goal is to manipulate and scheme her way to power and riches. Her plan is simple. Make her business a success and marry into a ridiculously rich and influential family. Now, with a wildly successful business and a rich finance, she’s well on her way to achieving her goals. However, what she didn’t expect was to encounter someone almost as ruthless as her!

Baroness’s perception of those around her is unerringly accurate; the reality of women scorned, the virgin eagerness to be loved or a simple need for connection is both cliché and oddly insightful. Sometimes uncomfortably so. It’s easy to lose sight of ourselves by becoming lost in those feelings. Though not meant to be entirely altruistic, she does empower the women she helps.

Truly, Baroness is the most likable anti-heroine I’ve come across in a long time. Her vanity and absolute conviction in her own superiority cracked me up. She was so outrageous that I couldn’t help but like her. There’s no shame. And since it’s told from her POV I could really appreciate the musings of her complicated mind; like how she clinically dissects the emotions of those around her.

I loved it!

The Seduction Expert by Saya Lopez Ortega was kindly gifted to me for a honest review by Netgalley and VSP publishing. I thought it was such an interesting and pretty unique little book, it feels almost like a novella. The seduction expert is "The Baroness", she's quite a mysterious narrator and not overly likable or reliable. I think the Baroness is interesting, shes such a strong and independent women but she's also narcissistic, vapid and materialistic. So I went through the book simultaneously loving and hating her! I liked that she was a strong Feminist. However, she's certainly a problematic character at times but definitely an intriguing one. The story line was entertaining but felt a bit lacking at times but from the ending it definitely feels like this is going to be a series so I'm looking forward to seeing how the story line developes and I'm keen to read more! I've seen this book on a few "most anticipated romance books" lists which is surprising as since reading it I wouldn't say this is a romance book. It deals with romance and of course love and relationships are the protagonists job but to me it feels like a contemporary fiction novel. Overall I enjoyed the novel, I'd certainly recommend it to someone who likes an interesting and different main protagonist. (3.5/5)

Wow, The Seduction Expert is a wonderful adventure with incredible writing by Sara Lopez Ortega. Seriously, I feel like I know the Baroness...which is not always a good thing because she can be really really cold. I want to know all about her childhood and her as a younger adult to figure out what made her become the baroness. Fortunately, in The Seduction Expert we get little glimpses of who she used to be and how far she has worked to build her business.

The Baroness does makeovers, dating assists, background checks, follows your husband to find out if he is lying and much much more....and women are willing to pay for it. At times, I just despised the main character because she is ruthless and cold...especially to her fiance. Other times, I found myself cheering her on (girl power!) and wanting her to be victorious.

I recommend running to the bookstore (if you have an actual bookstore, otherwise online) and getting this book for the fun, lighthearted clever writing of an author so talented she has you in love with a character you would normally despise!!! I laughed and gasped at the events in The Seduction Expert and hope for a sequel like right now would be great!!!

This is one of those books that picks up stream the more we read until it leaves you hanging.
The Baroness has team to keep her life moving. Her daily routine to help women get what they deserve is moving just as her has planned. Even her love is planned. Her life is money-check, rich fiancé-check, her dream job helping empower women- check. Until she has meet her match....? We will have to see what happens next. To be continues!
Please, please don’t make us wait to long!

The Art of Seduction is a witty, hilarious and entertaining novel. This book is perfect for summer reading, just be prepared to laugh out loud on the beach or at the pool. Told in first person, The Baroness is a feminist, self-empowered high society woman. Her job is part private detective, part therapist, part divorce attorney. Weaved in with her complicated clients, busy social climbing is a love story. If you can call it love, for the Baroness, it is one more step in her social ladder. I found myself at times terrified that someone can think the thoughts she does, but deeply entertained throughout. I wasn’t sure I actually liked her, but was rooting for her!

The Seduction Expert is a wonderful book with that features two interesting love stories. It was a book I couldn't put down even if I wanted to thank goodness my son is a teenager and doesn't need me. I read it in three days I was so captivated by it.

This book had short chapters, the writing flowed nicely, the main character is strong and without going into to much detail- the ending left you wanting more.

This book is a must read for the summer for sure.

What a fun book to read. The Baroness is a seduction expert, women come to her for advice and to check on their husbands’. Ambitious, devious and highly motivated she builds up a business and reputation that is daunting. She meets a guy she wants to marry. She doesn’t love him, but loves his and his families’ money.......but she doesn’t take into account the lady that could become her future mother in law! It is the 1st book in a series, so it ends abruptly, but with the reader wanting to find out more. A good light read.

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this book. I can’t decide if I really lik because the main character exudes self confidence or I dislike it because she is a horrible self involved person. I was intrigued as to how it would end and now I’ll have to wait for the next bus ok since I wasn’t expecting a cliff hanger. It’s a good read. Definitely has you on the edge trying to figure out how she’ll keep the upper hand.

The Seduction Expert is a different sort of reading experience. The Baroness is the woman other women turn to when they have been betrayed, hurt, etc. She helps these victims get vindication in whatever way it is needed. I found The Baroness and her business fascinating. She's tough, intelligent, vigilant and beautiful. Her business has made her rich because she's good at what she does. The story is fast, entertaining and clever. My only complaint is the characterization of The Baroness felt a bit overdone. She is very much above everyone and everything, and her character needs to come back down to earth a bit. Otherwise, this is a fun read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this book! My first read by Saya Lopez Ortega and I was so impressed. I would highly recommend this book.

The Baroness is a Seduction Expert. Not a character I particulary warmed too as she was way too conceited and self indulging for my taste.
I think a lot of people will like her character and this book.

This is a really weird book, but weird in a good way. I haven't read a book like it. An interesting concept in female empowerment and suppression.

Girl power! I wasn't certain if I would love this book, but it turned out to be great! I didn't expect it to be so empowering, but it truly had me roaring, I am woman! I didn't love the characters to begin with, but that was part of their evolution — you grew to like them slowly as the story evolved. There were a few grammatical errors, but I could overlook this, especially because I thought the writing was excellent. I enjoyed the first-person story telling, and this was a very quick finish for me. This is the first time reading this author, but I would definitely recommend and read more from her.

Fun read if you’re looking for a good, easy going summer book. The Seduction Expert is a strong woman by the alias of Baroness, who consults other women on their love life. She helps the elite threaten their cheating husbands and get compensation for their sorrows. Baroness is arrogant, self-centered, and precise, but you can’t help but hate to love her. The book is fast-paced and goes into a case by case scenario at first. This would make a good chick flick. It kinda gives me the Devil Wears Prada vibes. I can’t wait for the sequel.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and author for providing me with an ARC, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

I finished this one a couple weeks ago but just couldn't put my thoughts in order to write my review. That is not normal for me, usually I have to get it down right away. This one left me in a turmoil. Did I like it or not? That is the ultimate question...Parts of it had me snorting and laughing and parts of it had me shaking my head and rolling my eyes and thinking I was not going to finish it but I powered through and glad I did. Baroness, yes that is what she goes by, is the owner of a boutique consulting firm in Paris which caters to women who need help with matchmaking or any aspect of man problems, even and especially cheating husbands. She loves to take down cheating husbands and ruin them. We are treated to all her thoughts and they are quite sarcastic and narcissistic and she even and ultimate control over her own love life. The best turn is when her fiance decides it is time to introduce her to his mother. Oh, she has met her match. Will I look into book 2? Oh, yea! This left me wanting more.

I am not sure quite what to make of this story. The Baroness, at least that is what she calls herself, has created a very lucrative career as a ‘seduction expert’, but what you see is a woman who blackmails and fleeces seriously rich straying husbands, and persuades their wives to divorce even if they don’t want to. For young women trying to find a partner she destroys the budding relationship if she doesn’t approve. Her success, and the money she has made from it, has turned her in to a complete monster. I was really waiting for nemesis to kick in, for her to get what she deserved.

Nevertheless it is a very amusing idea, and well written, I am sure many people will really enjoy it, their views of this woman coloured by their own perspective of her actions. Worth reading.

This was a really fun read. It did take me a little time to warm up to the main character, but I ended up enjoying her and the story. This is a great book for all the girl power feelings.

4 Baroness Stars
This book reads quickly and starts off very women empowering but then that really changes as the story continues. The Baroness is no heroine this is no love story and there is no happily ever after . The Baroness’s goal is to climb the social ladder and destroy every man who hurts women. Love doesn’t pay the bills and love doesn’t give you social prowess. Will the Baroness destroy Louis or will Louis’s mother destroy her… the book ends with a cliffhanger and is a very good breakout novel by a new author. It’s a very quick read and if you don’t put it down you get engrossed in the story but if you set it down you may choose to DNF so keep that in mind.

Great read about powerful women who think they own the world and what happens when two come up against each other.
Fully recommend it and can’t wait for the next book

“ The Seduction Expert” by Saya Lopez Ortega sounded like a seductive, sexy read and I could not add it to my TBR list fast enough! I finished this book in about a day. If I could compare this book to anything else, I would definitely have to insert a “Devil Wears Prada” reference here. Seriously! The main character…I should hate her, but I don’t ( even though there were some moments that had me dangerously close, especially when being so condescending to other women in the book). The ending left me wanting more. Overall, great read and also great debut!

The Seduction Expert is a fresh, fun look at a dominatrix with a business empire. I found it a very quick read; less than 2 hours from start to finish. It was interesting and certainly kept the pages turning, but so quick, I feel like I didn’t get a good relationship built with any of the characters. It felt a bit shallow at parts - I feel like the book could’ve been much longer to flesh out other characters. Furthermore, I personally abhor a sudden “to be continued” ending - I have many questions and feel cheated to have everything wrapped up so quickly.

It's an amazing book , one I didn't think that I could like but ended up loving every word of it .
Highly recommended .

I did not like the baroness, however I was intrigued by the story. Karma played a role in the tale of the seduction expert. I look forward to reading more by this author.

I enjoyed the seduction expert, it did take me a couple of days to read but once I got into it I was totally hooked. Good characters and a good story line.

This book style is so different from what I’m used to reading. The main character is a strong, independent woman on the outside, but still carries uncertainty that many wives/woman do. It’s interesting that she is untrusting in her own relationship seeing what she does so well for others. This book will have you uncertain until the very end. Hang on for a crazy ride.

This title is incredibly slick and the Baroness is certainly not a woman to be messed with. Whilst she is a powerful woman with much to recommend her and to be admired, she's very difficult to like. The story is fast paced and the speed in which she takes down these misbehaving men and manipulates her fiance are breathtaking. If you're looking for loves conquers all this is probably not for you.

I thought ok this book sounds interesting but wasn't expecting much from it. Boy was I Wrong! From the second chapter I was hooked. I loved the Baroness and the twist with the future mother-in-law...oh wow. It is a fast read and you will not want to put this book down. I thought the ending could have been a few more pages longer. I felt like really..to be continued.?? I am sure the next book in the series will be even better than MS. Ortega's first. Can't wait to see what happens next.

THE SEDUCTION EXPERT is a terrific read, and I absolutely love the book cover of her red stilettos with the red soles which exude to many an attitude and perception of power.
The main character is a seduction expert whose job as head and founder of one of the biggest consulting firms is her life priority, and she is even called Baroness by her assistant. She is a much sought after consultant by women seeking assistance and coaching advice with their marital status, relationship, breakup, and, oftentimes, their partner’s affairs. With expectations that she will succeed where they have failed, many clients wait months and will pay a small fortune to meet with her. She is an intimidating woman with a super ego who expects their undivided attention when they do meet. Her rule is that “men who betray their wives must be punished.”
Her methods include coaching and encouraging women to strengthen their interpersonal skills to convey a message of elegance and subtlety to attract what they are. To help wives who have been betrayed by their wealthy, tax evading, and/or cheating, unfaithful husbands, it is not beneath her to put pressure on them by using financial information received from her tax advisor friend
An original, intriguing storyline that keeps you flipping the pages, especially when this professional manipulator meets one of her own, her future mother-in-law, who pulls out all the stops to prevent the Baroness from marrying her son. The ending will leave you looking forward to a sequel.

Meet the Baroness. Have relationship problems? Well she can fix that; for a price. She controls everything, even her own relationship. The Baroness is confident, assertive and blunt. Her business is her life, and she will do anything to always make sure she comes out on top. You might despise her initially, but she will grow on you throughout the book. The Seduction Expert had me wanting to watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and The Devil Wears Prada all over again. What a wonderful read. I look forward to the next book in the series especially after the cliffhanger. It was so well written, Saya Lopez Ortega did an amazing job on her very first book.
