When Carrie Vernon received a letter from the man who had been courting her, Hank Anderson, asking her to meet him so that they can get married she decides to defy her father and go ahead with the marriage. Carrie knew that her powerful father had plans to use Carrie as a pawn in his plans and knowing he would never approve of Hank.

Hank may not have been as rich and powerful as Carrie’s father but he owned his own small ranch and was determined to make it prosper to earn his and his new wife’s way. After refusing to sell his ranch to Carrie’s father though cattle and horses go missing, fences are destroyed and Hank knows just who has to behind the damage.

Montana Home is a part of the Love Letters series and is a historical romance with a tad bit of a thriller edge added in with the ongoing struggles with Carrie’s father. This book is a novella length read so it goes fairly quickly but did an OK job bringing the story to life within the few pages of the book.

I did think however that it seemed to miss the mark by not giving any lead in to Hank and Carrie’s relationship such as what led to his note or how they were courting before jumping to the marriage. Again that is probably due to the short length of the book but it felt as being dropped into something already going on a bit. Otherwise, it was a nice little historical tale.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Carrie is set to do what she wants and not what her dad expects. But what she didn't know was her dad had other plans. Hank is finally happy to have the love of his life in his home and ready to make a go at it with her. But he has a secret and it seems her dad is set to destroy them and he thinks Carrie might be involved. Can the over come the heartache and the loss' to the ranch or will it all be to much for them?
I am not a fan of historical fiction most of the time once in a while I will grab a book such as this one and end up surprised at how much I enjoyed it. This book could also be considered a very modern day read with a few changes and it packs a punch full or suspense which I really didn't expect. I really loved Jeremiah and his role in this book along with Biscuit, I felt like they had such a huge role and added a fun element to an on the edge of your seat kind of read. I also enjoyed that the author kept the book a good clean read so it would be suitable for all reads. This book was short read and really reminds you of a simple life back in the 1800s when they had a different kind of struggle then we face today. I would highly recommend this simple fun read.

This was a clean story with some language and violence but no descriptive sex scenes.

Carrie Vernon had been raised on a large ranch in Montana. Her mother died when she was young and her father never seemed to care about her at all after her mother's death.

Hank Anderson wanted Carrie for his wife but her father refused him and wanted to run Hank off his land or buy him out, whichever accomplished the same goal. When Carrie left to marry Hank, her father was angry and the attempts to force Hank to sell increased. Could Hank and Carrie's love for each other survive the onslaught from her father and his even men or would they give up?

I was given an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Carrie is determined to marry Hank even with her father against them and only wanting his land. Good story for love, family and survival on the land.

ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

Loved it! This is what a romance novel can be when it doesn't rely heavily on raunchy sex scenes to keep the reader's interest. I do wish there was a little more background info on how the romance blossomed to begin with.
