This charming picture book explores the many ways a kiss can say “I love you”
With rhythmic text and colorful imagery, Kisses traces a young child’s day through the many kisses they receive. From “Sloppy licking pup kisses” (the unconditional love from a beloved pet) to “Jungle gym climb-up kisses” (a parent celebrating a child’s victory), kids will enjoy the affirmation that they’re loved and wanted as the book—and their parents—brings them closer to “bedtime kisses.”

"McFarlane and Vaughan transport readers to a diverse neighborhood of townhouses populated by families of all makeups and colors—in the span of a few homes there are single parents, interracial families, gay fathers, a child who uses a wheelchair, and others. It’s an easygoing and broadly appealing reminder that—no matter a family’s shape, size, or particular circumstances—affection is a constant." — Publishers Weekly
"[The illustrations] neatly show a huge range of diversity in skin tone and family makeup, including two dads with a baby and a mixed-race family." — Kirkus

A simple book that lists various type of kisses such as goodnight kisses, new puppy kisses, and even raspberry jam on cat kisses. What really sets this book apart is the illustrations. They feature types of family, both racial, able, etc. Most kids could find someone, or a family like they see at home every day. I great book for a young child.

A cute book about all the different kinds a kisses that a child receives. The rhyming repetitive style and bright illustrations will appeal to toddlers. A great book to read while giving hugs and kisses to your child or grand-child. The book shows diversity, love of animals and there are a lot of settings to add interest to a child's day. A good addition to a family library.
